Toby wasn't sure what to make of what his father said and what he was currently seeing. His father had described Sirius Black as being a crazed murderer and the wizarding world said the same as well. Seeing him on the various posters that used to be everywhere, he did look insane and terrifying. However now that he had gotten around the man, he was rather pleasant to be around and funny too. He wasn't at all the man he had been hearing about and he was glad for it. Sirius was so incredibly nice to him despite his father being the number one enemy. Although he was comfortable around the older male, he was still afraid to ask him about what happened to his sister. His mother said it was an accident but he felt like he needed to know more. At least from Sirius's side. If he asked, Sirius might become upset. Sirius would become depressed every now and then whether it because he couldn't go outside and help out the Order due to being still wanted or thinking of some past event, namely James Potter's death and how he indirectly caused it. He wondered if during those moments of thinking of the past if he thought of his daughter. Toby thought of her sometimes. He wondered what she would have been like if she was alive and what she would have looked like. He hadn't seen any baby pictures of his sister and he didn't even know if his mother or Sirius had any. He knew it wasn't something you just bring up after all. Still though he wanted to know more out of curiosity.

'I really shouldn't ask,' he thought as he stared out of the window 'Sirius might get the wrong idea if I ask. He might think that I wish to do him harm for what he did. I'm not mad or anything. I just wanna know.'

Just then his mother came into their shared bedroom looking nervous. "Oh you're up."

"Yeah I heard that loud bang and then Mrs. Weasly yelling at the twins." said Toby. "Nobody's hurt, are they?"

"Not at all," At the moment, he didn't know or care. He was too busy being relieved Sirius hadn't spoken to him. Those fools are always up to something. I wouldn't doubt it if one of their little experiments get them hurt or killed."

"I hope not," said Toby. The twins were pretty funny and their inventions would make them a great deal of money if they perfected said inventions before putting them on the market. Hogwarts without the twins would be a lot duller. "You look nervous. Is everything alright?"

"Oh yes. Everything's fine. I just ran into Black, that's all."

"He didn't threaten you did he?"

"No...I...just don't like being around him is all," said Snape getting onto his bed. "Too many bad memories that I don't want to be brought up."

"Are you still afraid he might hurt you?"

"Not at all. Just don't worry about it." Severus wasn't sure if the man in question still didn't like him. He wouldn't doubt it. After he turned him in, he wouldn't be surprised if Sirius wanted revenge for what happened. He was prepared if he had to fight for his life...at least this time. At least if something happened to him, everyone would know who did it. Hopefully the man wouldn't attempt to do anything at all.

"You spent an entire summer away from me," pointed out his son narrowing his eyes at his mother. "I am going to worry."

"Its not your job to be the one worrying," said Snape. "As your 'father', that's my job."

"Well its too late now. You were so terrified of Sirius before and the two of you don't have a very pleasant past. He's nice but I still feel like I need to protect you. If I have to fight him, I will."

As touched as Snape was that his son was willing to protect him, he didn't want his son getting into any confrontations with the older man. This was between him and Sirius. Besides, it was probably not going to happen anytime soon. At least he hoped not. "I know, but I'd rather you not. Just concentrate on your studies and behave. If Sirius tries anything, get help. Don't stand in the way."

Snape knew that if anything happened between the two, it would be while everyone was gone for the day. Hopefully that wouldn't happen anytime soon. He wouldn't know what would happen if the two were alone in a room together. Would Sirius get revenge him for getting him thrown right back in Azkaban? Or would he want to talk about their daughter? Either way, he wasn't up to talking with the man. Another person he wouldn't want to talk to was Lupin. Although Lupin and he were done, he feared he might bring up the child. He was still pretty sore over his child and didn't want anybody bringing her up. So far, Lupin only spoke to him very little, only saying hello or asking if he had seen someone. Snape never bothered to start a conversation and he probably wouldn't anytime soon. He wanted to, but, again, he didn't want to risk having his daughter being brought up. However, he was unfortunate to have the topic brought up.

Snape was in the middle of finishing up his lesson plans for next school term when he heard Lupin's voice. "Oh there you are, Severus. I've been looking for you."

"You were?" Snape couldn't help but to let out the fact that he was surprised slip. As long as they had been in the same place from time to time, Lupin was never looking for him. For someone else, yes, but never him. "What for?"

"I need you to help me with the boggart upstairs. I'd do it but..." He trailed off as he looked sheepishly at Snape.

"Show me the room." he hadn't the slightest clue why the man needed him to get rid of it, but he'd do it anyways. For whatever reason, the boggart refused to come out and reveal itself. Snape was rather relieved Lupin wouldn't see his fears, but they had to get rid of this thing eventually. He eventually managed to pry the door open and get rid of the pest.

"Thanks a lot, Severus. We've been trying to get rid of it all morning, but it was pretty persist to keep the door closed."

"No problem," he nodded. As they headed downstairs, Lupin continued to talk.

"So is your son faring? You know with his father being back." He asked as they went down the stairs.

"I honestly don't know," confessed Snape. "He's okay, but a part of me thinks he might try going to him. Not to join him but to see him. He said he wasn't but you never know with children. They say one thing, but do another."

"How is...um..." Lupin seemed to be deep in thought for a moment. "Hm...I don't think we ever found out the gender."

He instantly knew who he was talking about and felt sick to his stomach. "She's dead."

"Oh!" Snape couldn't see Lupin's expression on his face, but he figured it had to be a look of shock. Considering Lupin had left him, it was obvious this news would shock him. "When...how did...?"

"She died after I gave birth," he said quietly.

"Severus...I'm..." He was at a lost for words. He had no clue this happened and felt horrible for not being there. Being told he wasn't the father had rendered him furious at the dark haired man to the point where he cut the man out of his life for good...or at least tried. He still wanted to be there for the baby as he had fallen in love with the thought of being a father and the baby. He would daydream about their future together and how they would raise their son or daughter together. As soon as he was told he wasn't the father, he was heart broken. He tried using various distractions, but all he thought about was his child and Severus. He had been hoping to find out about the child, but he could never locate the two until he taught at Hogwarts. Whenever he tried, Snape was nowhere to be found. Now that he caught up with him, he was ashamed he never stayed involved with Snape's pregnancy.

"It's alright," Snape held up a hand. "I'm okay. Really. Just don't bring it up anymore."

Snape then went back into the living room to finish what he was doing before leaving Lupin feeling upset at the news. He internally hated himself for not being there. No wonder Sirius had been acting so depressed back then. He lost his child with Severus. Yes, Remus knew about the two men thanks to Peter. He wasn't sure how Peter knew, but when he was told, he refused to believe it until he asked Severus himself. This ended up with their relationship coming to an end. He wished he had never listened to Peter even if it was the truth. Maybe...maybe he could make it up to Snape for not being there. After all, he never hated the man for the past. He was loved him like he did then. For every kiss he'd gotten and every touch he'd received, he would always see the man's face. He wondered if Snape felt the same way. Considering both men weren't in the best mood at the moment, he decided to put off these feelings for a while.
