Rias Gremory stared despondently out of the window of her club room. The day was beautiful and the sun was shining. However this day did nothing to ease Rias' discontent.

She had received the horrible news from her brother that Lord Rizer would no longer wait for her answer and was forced to come to a decision far sooner than she wanted. The red haired demoness knew that it was her duty to act on the best interests towards her house but deep inside she still felt cheated. Having already been engaged it would not be long before the marriage would take place.

The thought of being that...pig's wife made Rias nauseous again. While Lord Rizer had been courteous enough to not touch her while in her brother's presence he had been getting bolder as of late. It would not be long before he would be openly groping her and she would have to stand there and take it.

A heavy sigh came from Rias as she continued to stare out at the sky.

Her thoughts went out to Issei. Since the day that she failed to retrieve him and got news that he was selected as a Hell-Spawn she felt an overwhelming sense of guilt. If only she had gotten to him sooner then perhaps things would have been different. Though she did not see him much she could tell that the boy had tremendous potential.

Everything went wrong the moment she failed to reach out to Issei. Now it was too late and a war between their people and the Native demons was underway.

Issei has to be out there somewhere. To my knowledge Hell-Spawn are sent back to the world of the living to fulfill one desire before they are to be permanently recruited into Malebogia's army.

There is a good chance that Issei could be out there but then again I don't know if his time on Earth has already passed or not.

If only I had some more information. If I could find out if he still is out there then perhaps we can still reach out to him. He need not be shackled forever to that horrid Native.

However the possibility that I am too late is very real.

I need more information! I need to know what has become of Issei.

As if in answer the door opened to reveal a beautiful looking Japanese student entering along with a blond haired young man following her inside. Rias Gremory nodded her head to acknowledge them before they took their seats before her.

"I'm very sorry to hear of your engagement. I know that Lord Rizer wasn't the man that you wanted to marry." said Akeno as she bowed.

"A consequence of being a Noble of high stature I suppose. It was bound to happen but I wish it hadn't been so soon. Not when there is so much that needs to be done."

The blond haired young man, Yuuto Kiba, also bowed low.

"Regardless of your marriage to Lord Rizer we will remain your faithful servants to the very end. We will take no orders from anyone but you. In this I renew my vow to you." said Kiba as he then grabbed Rias' hand and kissed it softly.

Rias was touched by how both Akeno and Kiba were trying to cheer her up. She smiled sadly.

"Thank you Yuuto-san. I couldn't ask for a better knight to serve me."

With that Rias rose from her seated position as she walked over to the window and looked outside.

"Let me make something very clear to both of you. Cherish the freedom that you have now. Do not take it for granted. My pending engagement with Lord Rizer has been in the works for over two hundred years and yet I feel like time has come too quickly. Live everyday to the fullest. As your Queen I demand it."

Both Akeno and Yuuto nodded in understanding their faces serious.

A knock then came on the door. Rias looked over to see the Student Council President, Shitori Souna, peeking her head in.

"May I come in?" she asked politely.

"You're the president. Do you even have to ask?" replied Rias with a smile as she walked over and opened the door herself.

"Only observing proper manners is all." replied Souna seriously.

"Understandable but that makes you come off as an old woman." said Rias with a smile as she lead Souna over to a nearby table where there were some refreshments. Both Akeno and Yuuto stood up and bowed to pay their respects.

Souna took her seat as Akeno proceeded to fill a cup of tea for her. The student council president turned her attention to Rias as she soon started to speak.

"I want to offer you my well wishes. Despite the fact that you are not in agreement with Lord Rizer I, as well as my sister, wish to offer you our blessings. Let us hope that Rizer treats you with the dignity you deserve." said Souna.

"Unfortunately I doubt that Rizer will treat me civilly but even so I will not spill cold water on your either you or your sister's blessings. Thank you very much. I'll be sure to write your sister a letter to show my appreciation." said Rias sadly.

It was then that Souna's glasses gleamed white as she tilted her head down.

"Look Rias I'm not here just to offer you my well wishes. There is a matter of great importance that I must tell you. However I insist that we speak alone." said Souna seriously.

Rias shook her head.

"No. I trust both Akeno and Yuuto with my life. If you must tell me something important then they have every right to know." said Rias sternly.

"Very well. However I will still take the proper precautions."

With that Souna glowed a deep purple as the door behind them was slammed shut as were the windows to the club room. On the door was the mark of the Leviathan, a creature of uncontested might and power only rivaled by the Dragons.

"That seal is to prevent anyone else from eavesdropping on us. What I have to say is very important and may serve to put you in better spirits." said Souna.

"I'm listening." replied Rias in genuine interest.

"Sometime ago my older sister was called to a meeting. I'm sure that you're aware that your brother held an important conference between himself, Lord Rizer and my sister Lady Leviathan."

"I was already aware of this."

"Then that makes my job easier. Now I'm not the kind of person that goes around eavesdrop on other people's conversations but I managed to catch my older sister talking to our father about what had happened during the conference. Apparently two Fallen Angels had showed up to list some grievance against you Rias. That stunt over at the abandoned church outside town did ruffle their feathers."

Rias giggled when she heard this.

"I'm sure they did not take it too well that they were all defeated by the likes of us."

"That's a lie and you know it. While you and your comrades did take down a significant number of Fallen Angels and their Church member comrades you all were ambushed by a horde of Native Demons."

It was then that Rias' eyes narrowed.

She remembered that night and how they were nearly all slaughtered as a gang of Native Demons had appeared out of nowhere and attacked all of them. Rias could barely get herself and the rest of her comrades out of danger. The remaining Fallen Angels and human compatriots had gotten slaughtered.

"What does all of this have to with me?"

"After the conference my older sister was to take her leave when she realized that there was a matter of great importance that she needed to bring up to your older brother. As she returned to the conference room she overheard Lord Sirzechs telling his wife his concerns of someone by the name of "Hyoudou" and his possession of a Sacred Gear."

"Initially my sister was upset that Lord Sirzechs had neglected to tell us this important piece of information but instead of barging in and accusing him she instead came back home and ordered a variety of our agents to start scouring the city of Tokyo. After searching for some days they came across a very interesting sight. Last night they witnessed a Hell-Spawn armed with a Sacred Gear dispatching two Holy Members of the Church."

It was then that Rias stood up suddenly as she shouted.

"Issei!"

Souna narrowed her eyes as she gauged Rias' reaction.

"So you know this Hell-Spawn? Our agents were not given orders to engage the Hell-Spawn in combat and even if they did I don't think they would have come out the better. This particular specimen was formidable. From the reports that was given to my older sister this Hell-Spawn managed to dispatch these two warriors of the Church rather quickly. And that was with both of these warriors wielding shards of Excalibur itself and going at him at the same time."

Rias bit her thumb as she heard this.

What power. Even I would be hard-pressed in defeating an elite warrior of the Church especially if they were armed with a shard of Excalibur. To hear that Issei was able to dispatch two of them at once is both comforting and yet disconcerting.

How am I to know that he will respond favorably to us if we approach him?

I have to find out! I need to find him. There is no other way!

It was then that the red haired demoness gazed over at her peer seriously.

"Are you sure that the one who defeated these two members of the Church was a Hell-Spawn?"

"Do you doubt my sister's words?" asked Souna in an almost challenging manner.

"No. Thank you for making that clear for me. It makes it easier for me to formulate my plan."

It was then that Rias turned over to both Akeno and Yuuto. Seeing that they were to be given orders both of them stood up ready to act at a moment's notice.

"I have a very important mission for both of you. Seeing as I am now engaged to Lord Rizer I am not at liberty to move around freely as I used to. Even so that does not stop me from commanding my servants as I see fit. Tonight you will be heading to Tokyo. I will make the necessary arrangments so that you are provided transportation to the city and shelter once you get there. I will give both of you cards which will give you access to funds that we have stored here on Earth. Use them as you wish but not carelessly. You are on a mission to find this Hell-Spawn and bring him back to me. I MUST talk to him no matter what. Can I trust you both with this mission?" asked Rias seriously.

Both Yuuto and Akeno bowed low.

"It would be an honor." said Yuuto.

"Never would I refuse a command from you my lady." replied Akeno.

"Good. Make preparations to move by midnight. I will not tolerate tardiness."

"Understood." replied both of them at the same time.

"Very well. You both are dismissed. Please leave both me and the student council president. I wish to discuss some matters with her in private."

The two servants bowed once more before they went towards the door. Seeing the symbol of Leviathan both fo them were hesitant to touch the door.

"Do not worry. It will allow you to leave. However you will not be allowed back inside until I lift the spell. Make sure that your business with us is done before leaving."

With that the door opened on its own as both Akeno and Yuuto soon passed through it and were gone. The door slammed shut as both Souna and Rias were now alone.

"Are you sure that this is a wise move? You would actively seek out a Hell-Spawn that has the power to defeat even elite members of the Church? There is a good chance that you are sending your faithful servants to their deaths." said Souna in an almost scolding manner.

"My servants are mine to use as I please." retorted Rias sharply.

"Very well. I will broach the subject no longer. Even so I do not believe that this is a wise course of action. While I have never seen one my sister has told me that Hell-Spawn are quite formidable on their own. One that possess a Sacred Gear could be lethal. What do you intend to do with this Hell-Spawn if he were to come to your possession?"

"I feel that I am partially responsible for his situation. Had I acted sooner I would have been able to make him my servant. This would have been without his consent however I feel that I would have treated him far more humanely than that wicked demon Malebogia." spat Rias angrily.

Souna's glasses gleamed as she was filled with suspicion.

"Why do I get the feeling that you fancy this Hell-Spawn?"

Rias' face turned red as she heard the accusation and immediately waved her hands to and fro in denial.

"W-What are you talking about? All I'm saying is that I feel guilty that I was not able to get to him. Malebogia is not known for treating his servants kindly."

"Okay suppose you are able to get in contact with him. What are you going to do once Malebogia finds out that you're trying to take away one of his slaves? That demon may not have a shred of kindness or concern for his subjects but that doesn't mean that he will suffer them being taken from another. You run a grave risk in drawing his attention to you if you get too close to that Hell-Spawn."

"I know that! But what am I supposed to do? Let him wander around the alleyways of Tokyo, lost, alone, with no one there to comfort him or to ease his torment? I-I want to be there. I have to do something for him. I don't know what but I'll do what I have to do to let him know that there are those who CARE about him. That he is NOT alone. He may be our best chance in defeating the Native threat that looms over us."

Souna shook her head as she heard this. Placing a hand on Rias' shoulder she gripped it tightly.

"You're speaking like a hopeless romantic but I will not stop you. If you feel that this is for the best then do what you wish. However do not come to me if that Hell-Spawn turns on you and takes your life...or if your brother finds out about your plan and kills you himself."

"Ah! But who was it that told me this dirty little secret? I'm sure that Lady Serafall won't take you eavesdropping on her kindly."

The student council president blushed as she heard this. She immediately stood up as she made her way toward the door.

"Listen. I told you this because I felt that it would cheer you up. I had a feeling that you might be connected to that Hell-Spawn. I'm glad that I was able to have you forget your engagement with Lord Rizer for the meanwhile. Anyway...your welcome."

With that Souna bowed down and then exited the room the symbol of her house disappearing from the door. Rias gave a sad smile as she looked down at her lap tears filling her eyes.

"Thank you..."

"What you are asking me to do is insane!"

Kazuya Azumi was in a heated argument as he gripped his office phone tightly. He couldn't believe the audacity of this strange American calling him from halfway across the world and making this unreasonable demand of him.

Far away in New York City Jason Wynn sat in the gloom his face stoic and calm. Despite the excited reactions of his clients he never once lost his cool. He refused to budge until the terms of an agreement were in his favor. It was this stern, collected composure of his that allowed him to obtain the power he currently had.

And he was far from done in allocating his power.

"Now now my good Councilor calm down and let us be reasonable."

"Reasonable? Right. If reason were involved in this conversation then you wouldn't be calling me right now to do you this insane favor. I won't do it. I refuse to." said Kazuya angrily.

Jason Wynn knew how to change a 'no' to 'yes'. It was something that he was proficient at. The Councilor's heated refusals was nothing new. He was used to forcing others to see his way of things. This included the lowest of thugs to the President of the United States.

"Listen to me Councilor. Right now you are in the middle of supplying weapons to a major civil war in China. No doubt you have already made many deals in advance. They are counting on your to come through and, in return, you are counting on me to deliver. Believe me I want to deliver on my end but your refusal in cooperating with me will endanger this entire situation. Tell me are you so willing to give up the chance in taking Japan for your own? Was your ambition that weak?"

Kazuya gripped the phone so tightly that his fingers hurt. So desperately he wanted to swear and say all sorts of horrible things to the man across the line but the simple fact of the matter was that he was right. There was no way that they could abandon the operation right now. He had the cooperation of the Dragon Syndicate, the most powerful Chinese crime organization in Japan, helping him ship weapons and missiles to China.

His relationship with the Dragon Syndicate was his foundation to further relations with other entities in China. If he kept in good faith with the Dragon Syndicate by giving them important work and funds such as this weapons operations then they would put in a favorable word for him. Scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. It was the way of all business relationships.

He understood where Jason Wynn was coming from but even so he still could not believe the request that was being made.

"And how is my giving sanctuary to a child killer instrumental to our plans? If you can convince me that harboring this sick fuck of an individual is somehow beneficial to me and my country then I would like to hear it now!" demanded Kazuya.

"Very well. If you are so insistent in knowing then I'll tell you. However what I am about to say is classified. If one word goes out of your mouth about the conversation that we are having right now then you'll simply disappear."

Kazuya could not help but gulp a bit when he heard this. He had always been a ruthless politician but the thought of having to kill someone else never entered his mind. Ruining their career, sure. But outright killing them? That was murder wasn't it?

And yet this American hotshot just threatened him without any hesitation. There was genuine conviction in Wynn's voice that told Kazuya that the man was serious.

What the hell have I gotten into?

I feel like a made a deal with the Devil.

Kazuya knew that he was in too deep already. He could not stop operations right now. He had made a commitment and now he was in for the entire ride. There was no turning back.

"Okay then. Not a word leaves my lips. But this had better be good otherwise I'm backing off."

It was an empty threat but even so he wanted to be sure that Jason Wynn put his cards on the table before he decided to go all in or simply just check on his bet.

"The child killer in question is the son of the President of the United States. How does that strike you my good Councilor? You should be honored that an esteemed member of our society has gone to join yours. I trust that you will keep him safe."

It was then that Kazuya realized that Jason Wynn had him by the balls. It also told him how Wynn seemed to have so much power.

Shit!

I don't doubt his word. He is telling the truth.

Does that bastard actually have the President of the United States in his pocket? If so then perhaps I really did make a deal with the Devil.

I'm willing to bet that this sick bastard is under Wynn's protection but now that protection is eroding. He has to come to me to give this murderer sanctuary.

Something tells me that this child killer is instrumental to the war that is going on in China. It could very well be that Jason Wynn is possibly getting his resources from the President himself by black mailing him with his own son. What a devious bastard.

However I can't help but admire him just a bit. If only I had such clout with the Prime Minister.

Knowing what he had to do now Kazuya decided to let Jason Wynn know just how committed he was to their cause.

"I understand. The young man in question will be treated as an honored guest. I will personally make sure that he is cared for and that his...indiscreet actions are not paid attention to. Our police have more important things to worry about such as that damned war that Yakuza has started with my clients."

There was silence on the receiver. For a moment Kazuya felt that perhaps he was being a bit too superfluous. Jason Wynn soon responded.

"I'm glad that we are in the same page. Mind you this is but a temporary arrangement until I can find somewhere more suitable. Just do your part and the rewards will come. Feel free to call me at any time Councilor."

Kazuya could not help but grin. Jason Wynn took the hint and even more he felt like he got a bit of leverage in this business relationship of theirs.

Despite his power I'm willing to bet that Wynn was really sweating this one out. Lucky for him I want to run my own country.

Satisfied Kazuya soon spoke once more. The fact that the man coming into his country was a child killer no longer mattered. What mattered was that their business relationship, which started off as somewhat shaky and lacking in trust, had become solidified and Kazuya's dream of running Japan was becoming more of a reality.

"I'll hold you to that Mr. Wynn. Anything else I can be of service to you?"

"That will be all Councilor."

"May I ask the name of my esteemed guest? I do not wish to offend him and make a bad impression of myself and my country."

"His name is Billy my good Councilor. Billy Kim Kade."

Deep within his chamber Lord Rizer sat on his throne smiling broadly as he realized the victory that he had obtained.

It would not be long now before he would officially be wedded to the beautiful and delectable Rias Gremory. Already he was thinking of many ways that he could sate his lust on her.

Most women he would grow bored of but not with Rias Gremory. He knew that he would never tire of her and she would be his forever and ever.

Life was good for him. The only thing left was to put those pesky Natives in their place. He could not wait for this meddlesome war to be over and done with.

"I would think that the Lord of Phoenix would have had better security than this."

Lord Rizer suddenly stood up from his throne as he looked out at the darkness of his chamber. There before him was a tall, ugly looking creature. It was deathly gray with a near emaciated form. Long, ugly gray tassels fell from its head as it's eyes gleamed in the darkness. It was tall, over nine feet in height. It glowed a menacing red as it stood before Lord Rizer.

A Native Demon.

In my chamber?

But how?

Despite the questions racing through his head Lord Rizer put on a cocky smile as he stepped forward fearlessly.

"Security? I'm all the security I need." said Lord Rizer arrogantly.

The Native Demon smiled cruelly in response.

"You're powers are well noted even amongst our kind. I have not come to fight you however but instead to parley. Care to listen to what I have to offer?"

Lord Rizer soon narrowed his eyes in suspicion as he heard this.

"You would wish to parley with me Native even though we are sworn enemies? We are soon to be at war."

"And it is for this reason that I ask that you listen to my proposal. You see my master, Malebogia, knows that war is coming to him. However we are prepared. There will be many casualties on both sides. You may hold us in contempt but I assure you that this war will go on for centuries. We are prepared to fight and take what is ours. The question is if your side is willing to make that commitment." replied the demon.

The Phoenix lord laughed harshly as he started to glow a golden color. The air seemed to simmer from the rising temperature and started to combust randomly into flame. The Native Demon held his ground and did not budge. There was no fear in the demon's eyes. If anything there was anticipation.

"How arrogant you are. Do you believe that your feeble kind can stand to the likes of our power? I'll be sure to roast your demons so thoroughly that the flames of Hell will be like a cool mist. Now I believe that you have overstayed your welcome. I give you ten seconds to decide whether you want to live or not."

The Native Demon did not budge and instead took a step forward.

"Let me ask you something Phoenix Lord. Do you enjoy living in mediocrity as you are now? You possess grand power and yet you hold such a small domain. You allow yourself to be pulled by the nose by that bleeding heart Sirzechs. Now let me tell you something that you may not like. I was wrong about this war lasting centuries. In fact this war will end quite swiftly with the demise of your kind. The only reason why your kind has not fallen is because of the Great Barrier and even then I have found a way to breech it. Has it not occurred to you as to how I'm here?"

It was then that Lord Rizer's curiosity was piqued as he powered down. This was a nagging question that was getting to him. There should be no possible way that a Native demon could cross into their domain. The Great Barrier would instantly incinerate any Native that comes too close.

"Speak."

The Native Demon smiled as he saw that Lord Rizer was willing to cooperate for the moment. With that he produced what looked like a small gem. It was tiny in his fingers but it still glowed a bright gold. At once Rizer felt himself drawn to the gem so much so that he nearly reached out to touch it. The Native demon smiled as he stepped back causing Rizer to regain his bearings.

Lord Rizer was not happy about letting himself lose control like that. He took a seat on his throne and immediately barked a demand.

"What is that gem?"

"This is what is known as a Soul Gem. When a pure soul comes to me asking me to grant a desire of theirs I lock up their soul in this vessel. Their wish is granted and I obtain their soul. As a result the pure soul in question becomes my slave. Most of my victims are children. Boys will be turned to Heroes and girls in Magical Girls. By the nature of their soul a new power is created that they can use to combat other Heroes or Magical Girls whose Soul Gems have become so tainted that become either Demons or Witches. Soul Gems like this that are tainted and eventually overcome by hate, lust, envy, and sin become Grief Seeds that the existing Heroes and/or Magical Girls can use to purify their own Soul Gems before they become too tainted themselves."

"A marvelous work if I say so myself. The result is all the same. Once a boy or girl has made a deal with me and has their wish granted then their souls are forever imprisoned in Hell. Demons, both Noble and Native, are able to draw the taints from a Soul Gem and feed on it. It nourishes us, gives us power! It is for this reason that you were drawn to it. However there is more to these gems than just the story I gave you."

"For the power of the Great Barrier is its ability to repel evil souls. Yet with this Soul Gem I was able to pass through the Great Barrier freely. Did you know that the Pearly Gates in Heaven are constructed in much the same way as the Great Barrier? Only the purest of souls can enter. Yet if I wished it I could enter Heaven at this very moment just by being in possession of this little gem."

"Sirzechs had outlawed my master's Hell-Spawn selection process one thousand years ago and yet he was never aware of my work and what I was doing with the souls of pure children. Right now we nearly possess enough Soul Gems to obliterate your precious Great Barrier. However there is a dilemma. We need ONE more Soul Gem to complete the process. The last Magical Girl is alive on Earth. This is where you come in Lord Phoenix."

It was then that the Native Demon conjured an image using his powers. It was blurry at first until it finally converged to form an image of a pink haired girl.

It was Madoka.

"I ask that you show both myself and my master, Malebogia, your good faith in finding this Magical Girl and bringing her to our custody alive if possible. Do this and you will be in everlasting friendship with my master Malebogia."

Lord Rizer could not help but spit on the ground when he heard this. Rising up from his throne he stood tall his body now glowing golden once more. The ground started to shake as Rizer clenched his fists.

"You would ask me to betray my kind and aid you scum in war? What could Malebogia offer me that could even make me consider betraying my associates? Lord Sirzechs has already offered his sister's hand in marriage to me. I'm sure that even you uncouth creatures know of my engagement to her."

The Native Demon was not intimidated by this display and soon spoke.

"No need to get upset. I understand that betraying your alliance to your comrades must be difficult but consider this. My master will offer you not only the entirety of both Sirzechs and Leviathan's domain but a continent on Earth of your own choosing. Yours will be a sovereign nation that we Natives will recognize and respect. You know of your power and the power that your people possess. How long will you continue to shackle your potential when there is so much more that your people can have?"

Lord Rizer had had enough as he held his hand out and a ball of fire started to form. The heat was intense as the air cackled from the flames.

"You are no longer welcome. Leave now or prepare to suffer the wrath of my flames."

It was then that the Native Demon knew that it was time to go.

"We may have not parted in the best of terms Lord Phoenix but I implore you to consider my proposition. Until our next meeting." said the Native.

"As if I would suffer your audience scum. May I know the your name before you depart however. That way if you foolishly come back I will personally carve your name on your severed head."

"If you must know it is Malefic. I assure you that you will receive me in better spirits the next time we meet."

"Your funeral scum."

With that the demon took a step back before vanishing in a burst of flame. Lord Rizer grunted his disgust and was relieved that his unwelcome guest was finally gone. He made to take his seat on his throne before seeing something glitter on the floor. Curious Lord Rizer made his way over to the glittering object and saw, to his surprise, the golden Soul Gem that the Native Demon, Malefic, had in his possession.

Lord Rizer picked it up as he examined it at his leisure.

I should destroy this thing. That demon foolishly told me that they were in need of one more of these jewels in order to have the power to overcome the Great Barrier. If I destroy it then that will make TWO of these trinkets that they will need and this one will never come back. All their plans ruined.

I will destroy it.

Lord Rizer held his free hand up as blistering flames started to form. The gem seemed to quiver beneath his palm. For a moment it looked like Lord Rizer was going to destroy the Soul Gem once and for all but soon the flames on his hand were extinguished. He gripped the Soul Gem tightly. Already he could feel the purity of the soul course through his body. It felt...nice...warm and gave him a sense of wholesomeness that he never felt before.

Rizer shook his head as he then placed the Soul Gem in his pocket.

No.

There are other matters that I need to attend to. The wedding will be a month from now. I need to start thinking of preparations. Once I'm done with my work then I'll focus on getting rid of this gem.

With that Lord Rizer soon made his way out of his chambers with an agenda on mind. There were many matters that he had to attend to and he would not waste another minute.

The Soul Gem remained in his pocket its destruction averted for another day.

Author's Note: Well this is going to be it for a long while. As I said there are a couple of other projects that I'm nearing completion of that I want to finish so I'll be concentrating on those. Hopefully these two quick updates to this story will suffice. Anyway let me know what you all think.
