A/N: THIS HAS BEEN EDITED BECAUSE OMG IT WAS NOT GOOD BEFORE BUT I LOVE ANYONE WHO MADE A KIND COMMENT ABOUT IT.

Hey everyone! So, just to explain what's going on, at one point in this story, Naruto starts to sing. At this point, I would like to ask you to go to YouTube and type in 'Then He Kissed Me' by The Crystals. The first installment of the song is what he is singing. In the next chapter (when I finally type it up) the next installment of the song will be what is going on. I apologize if that seems to confuse everyone but I cannot have the song lyrics up. I thank you for your patience and I hope you like the story :)

Summary: 1923 was a strange year for one Sasuke Uchiha. It started one night when all he was looking for was some peace and quiet but instead found something that would change his life in a way he wasn't sure he was ready for. SongFic. Naru/Sasu.

"I can't stand this. How much longer do you think we have to stay here before we can bug out without your old folks freakin' noticing?" Huffing out a breath, the annoyed brunette gave Sasuke a defeated look.

Shifting to look at his friend lounging against the wall. Anyone who didn't know him would think he was just bored, but Sasuke knew he was anxious to leave the stuffy party. "Not only were we late but we've only been here for twenty minutes and you're already complaining? I know you're lazy Shika but hang loose man. We show up, play nice, and then book it. What's got you so on edge?"

Pushing off from the wall, the lazy genius suddenly looked alert. "Later, Weasel approaches."

"I heard that Mr. Nara. Now, my question is why the two of you have been hiding back here? Mother and Father are not happy. They expect more from you, little brother." Honestly, I'm 18. I'm a man, does he need to keep calling me that?

"Sasuke." Sasuke nodded.

"Itachi." Itachi nodded back

"...Shikamaru."

Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha both turned to the lazy young man, eyebrows arched.

"What? Everyone's names were being called. I didn't want to feel left out." Itachi then turned toward his brother, a questioning look on his face. Sasuke just returned it with a smirk and a shake of his head.

Itachi rolled his shoulders and gave his brother a look "Whatever. Honestly Sasuke, I've already covered for you when Mother and Father saw you come in late. I will not help you when Father catches you in the darkest corner of the room, standing so close to one of your closest male friends."

Sasuke could feel the blood drain from his face, Itachi gave him an understanding look. "Exactly, so I suggest that the two of you come out of your little hidey hole and play nice for a little while."

With that Itachi left, leaving the two boys alone. They looked at each other and sighed with defeat. They knew the older Uchiha was right so they moved away from their corner and went in search of someone who wouldn't completely bore them.

"Get back here you delinquents! I'll call the police! I know what you look like!"

"Whatever chrome dome! Like you ever would!" The taller of the two looked back grinning at the red faced man chasing after them.

"...C-C-Chrome Dome?! I am not bald!" He yelled after his two employees.

The two boys ran down the street, laughing and waving goodbye. When they finally stopped the taller bent over, hands on his knees, panting.

Finally catching his breath, the brunette grinned at the blond "Oh man. I thought he would fire us for sure. The man may be old, but he's still a badass." looking over towards his partner in crime. The blond stood up and leaned against a metal fence, rubbing his back against it to get an itch.

Kicking off from the fence, the blue eyed blond turned to look at his friend properly "Yeah, right. Gramps knows he needs us. We're his best workers." A sly grin lighting up his face.

"Whatever you say Nar-"

Eyes widening, he whispered "Keep it down Kiba!" grabbing Kiba by the scruff of his worn leather jacket his friend pulled him down to the hard cement.

"What the hell Naruto?! What are you doing?!" Kiba stage-whispered, trying to get his friend to let go. Naruto had grabbed a hold of some his hair in the process not that he seemed to notice, much to Kiba's irritation.

Naruto noticed he was hurting his friend and let go, but placed his left hand on Kiba's head and turned it sharply to the right, forcing him to look straight and through the fence.

"Why are you getting ape on me bro? First it's like you're trying to make me bald then you're about to snap my neck! What is going on?!" Kiba didn't care about keeping quiet anymore, that hurt, dammit!

"Shut up and look you dog loving moron!" Naruto hissed at him, making Kiba clench his teeth and look at what his abusive friend was so interested in.

All Naruto could do was stare. There, standing underneath a tree with the moon shining through the branches, was one of the most beautiful creatures he had ever laid his eyes on. Hair so black it shone blue in the starlight, skin pale as the moon itself. Legs that went on forever, one stretched out in front of him while the other was resting against the tree he was leaning on.

Wrapping his hands around the metal bars of the cool fence, Naruto pushed his face as close as he could, to the point of it being a bit painful in order to get a closer look at the young man.

He couldn't be much older than Naruto's seventeen, almost eighteen , years. If the mansion behind the large black fence was any indicator of this boy being filthy rich, he could have just been a waiter on his break for all Naruto knew, the digs were a pretty good indicator.

Naruto could only dream about wearing clothes that fit as perfectly as the other boys did. And those hands, the kind of hands that have never felt a day's worth of hard work in their life. The kind of hands that will make a piano sing out its pleasure. They were currently searching for what Naruto assumed to be either a flask or cigarette case hidden in the dark haired beauties jacket.

Naruto wished he was close enough to see the color of the man's eyes. Would they be brown, much like the bark of the tree he was leaning against? Would they be blue? Blue as his own even? Shaking his head, no, definitely not. If this boy had blue eyes they would be dark...stormy, while Naruto was constantly complimented on his eyes rivaling the bluest skies.

Naruto couldn't just sit there and do nothing. He realized that if he didn't see those eyes right this moment he would die with a regret and Naruto Uzumaki refused to die with any regrets.

At least that's what Naruto told himself as he turned towards his best friend with a shit eating grin. Kiba's face dropped, knowing that look and fearing it. He knew that what Naruto was about to ask could send them into a world of pain. But you only live once, right?

Sasuke pulled a fag out of his case and lit up, taking a drag and slowly blowing out. He felt a guilty for leaving Shikamaru to the flakes but he couldn't spend another minute with all those stiffs. Just as he was about to take another pull, a deep voice stole him from his thoughts.

"Butt me" Sasuke tilted his head to the left and went still, smoke trailing in the wind, forgotten at the moment. There, standing beside him was what looked like an angel. Bronzed skin most likely from working in the outdoors, if it weren't obvious from his clothing that he was a regular street worker his persona screamed 'outdoors' as opposed to the stiffs inside that were suited for desks. Golden hair that looked soft to the touch, not like all those other street urchins who put so much grease in their hair one could wring it out like the maids did with their dirty rags. It was his eyes, though, that caught Sasuke's attention. He felt like he was drowning in a clear blue ocean.

Shaking his head and taking another pull of his forgotten cigarette, Sasuke gave the stranger a once over. Blowing out the smoke, Sasuke could see the shorter male was starting to fidget; I'm taking too long to answer his question. Not that it matters, he can wait. It's obvious he doesn't belong here. He may look like fine wine but he was definitely rough around the edges and the unusual scars across his face didn't help … well, they added to his beauty but still. I could see his jacket was well worn from years of use. Shoes scuffed and stained jeans, possibly from working.

"You gonna butt me or what?" The impatience in his tone was unmistakeable and it filled Sasuke with glee.

Meeting those heart stopping eyes once more Sasuke said "Why would I give you one?" The fact that Sasuke could look down at him seemed to fill the other male with agitation. It wasn't by much but it was enough to light a spark in those vibrant eyes. Not that Sasuke could blame him, the blond stood just above average at his five foot eight but Sasuke still had about two inches on him.

"I could always just take it from you" A feral grin on his face, he stepped closer and Sasuke was loath to admit that he attempted to step back but the tree was in the way. Heart racing, stomach fluttering, Sasuke didn't know whether to flee or to stay. And that smile, he felt he could die a happy man with that smile, though a tad frightening now, aimed towards him.

"A'righ?" the blond drawled out, hand up for comfort but didn't touch. Why did I want him to touch?

Shaking out of his reverie, Sasuke scoffed. "Can't articulate, moron? …I'm fine."

Eyes that held concern just a moment ago now held nothing but exasperation. He folded his arms across his chest and attempted to glare. Now for someone like Sasuke who grew up in certain circles, he knew how to deal with glares. Not only was this boy's weak, it didn't suit his face.

Grinding grinding his teeth, Sasuke couldn't help the words that tumbled out of his mouth next. "Don't do that. You're a fox, it doesn't suit you." Damn. Why did I call him a fox? He's not that good looking. Not that it matters, I'm no homo but I'm not blind. Yeah. I can appreciate good looking people…

Eyes widened in surprise then a slow sensual smile creeped up making Sasuke's cheeks warm. Damn him.

"You think I'm a fox, do you?" He stepped closer again. Once again Sasuke realised there was no room to step back so he stood taller in hopes of intimidating the stranger, it didn't work. One more step had them a mere two inches apart.

"Yes well...with a smile like that and those scars, it's kind of hard not to now is it?" Hah, take that moron, I called you a fox because you look like one. Sasuke took note of the wince but the smile stayed intact. Hoping he had ruined whatever thing going on between them at the moment Sasuke was just about to step around the blue eyed boy to leave when he heard the other mumble.

"...do you want to dance?" Huh. What.

Whipping his head to give the stranger a scathing look, Sasuke could see the confusion in the smaller boy's face, almost as if even he couldn't believe what had come out of his mouth. Yet once their eyes met he stood his ground and with a set jaw, looked ready for anything. I have to shoot this idiot down.

"Dance? You and me? You've got to be kidding. I'm not entirely sure if you've noticed but I'm a man and – Hey!" Before Sasuke had a chance to react there was a large and clammy hand grasping his own, pulling them farther into the shadows of the garden.

I've danced with plenty of tittering woman in my day and I know for a fact that our bodies should not be this close. Why am I complaining about that part?! This is a man and he's dancing with me. Worse, he's leading.

Sasuke could feel the blood rush to his cheeks as he held me in his arms. Never in his life had Sasuke ever been so… so.

His body felt so nice and warm.

No, Sasuke. Make him let go.

Such strong arms

How god, he smells so good. I thought street workers were supposed to smell bad? With all that sweat and dirt and sweat…

I'm so done.

Sasuke couldn't get himself to leave the strong warm arms and decided that he would die if he let the delusional young man dance with him. So Sasuke relaxed and tried to enjoy myself. Because obviously being in the arms of another man was uncomfortable.

As they danced, Sasuke could hear the stranger start to sing. He may look like an angel but he definitely didn't sing like one. Sasuke couldn't help but smile, hiding it in the crook of the sweet smelling boys neck while his warm breath cascaded over my ear while he sang.

Ba-dump.

Well that's new…

Sasuke hadn't noticed that they stopped dancing until the unnamed stranger pulled back just a bit and placed one of his calloused hands against Sasuke's soft cheek.

He was looking into Sasuke's eyes like he had found the meaning of life. The fluttering in his stomach and the pounding of his heart was back with a vengeance.

I know that look. That's the look that pink haired harpy gives me every time I fake a smile her way.

Ba-dump

No, Sasuke. Itachi talked to you about this. It isn't right.

The blonde's eyes closed. Was his face getting closer?

Ba-dump, ba-dump.

It'll ruin you forever, Sasuke. Father will kill you.

Sasuke grit his teeth. He had to stop this, it couldn-.

It did.

Sauske Uchiha, youngest son to Fugaku Uchiha, Chief of Police in all of Konoha, was kissing a street worker. And not just any street worker, a male¸ street worker.

Nothing had ever felt so right.

The blond let go of Sasuke's face and wrapped his large arms around Sasuke's neck, pulling their faces closer.

Oh god, was that a moan? Did he just moan? I think I'm going to die.

Sasuke wrapped his arms around the slightly shorter boy and let out a moan himself. He couldn't help it. He just felt right with the blond in his arms, his lips on his own.

Wait, what's he doing with his tongue? I thought this was a kiss? Why is – Oh. Alright. It's in my mouth. Now what do I do? Ohhh.

Trying to match the rhythm of his obviously more talented partner, Sasuke was failing. But the unnamed stranger took his time and soon enough Sasuke's tongue was invading the others mouth.

Now I get why all those girls constantly talk about kissing. It's amazing.

Too soon Sasuke felt the need for air and let go with a wet 'pop'. Just in time, too, as he heard his name being called. And the voice didn't sound too pleased.

"Sasuke, huh? Not like the Sasuke Uchiha, son of Chief Uchiha?" It took a moment for Sasuke to register the fact that the other boy was speaking to him and for the pleasure of seeing kiss swollen lips and a flush face to change into mild fear.

"You know my name, it's only common courtesy to give me yours" Sasuke didn't like the look that was aimed his way. The blond was now looking all around them, skittish like. Sasuke dropped his arms from the others waist and stepped away.

Well, that got a reaction.

Stepping forward in what Sasuke assumed was a chance to get his arms around Sasuke once more the shorter boy opened his mouth when they heard barking. At least that's what it sounded like to Sasuke.

"Naruto! Get your ass over here would ya?! There are people looking around ya know!" Sasuke immediately hated the person that voice was attached to, though it did come with some valuable information.

Turning in the direction the barking had come from, Naruto whispered back "You think I'm an airhead? I know! Give me a minute!" Growling, Naruto turned back towards Sasuke with a sheepish grin on his face.

"Guess that answers your question, huh?"

Raising an eyebrow, Sasuke couldn't help thinking that he had heard that name before. He put it in his memory bank to look into later on but for now, he had a name.

"Yes. Naruto." Grinning, Naruto pulled Sasuke towards him and smashed their lips together in a fierce kiss. This one wasn't as soft and sweet. It was teeth and hands pulling at hair.

Sause pulled away panting when he heard the stomping and cursing. Not having any clue as to who could possibly be making such a racket, Sasuke pulled Naruto behind him, hoping his height would help hide his blond behind Sasuke's taller frame. That is until Naruto moved from his new hiding spot and swatted the loud intruder on the head.

"Kiba, Sasuke. Sasuke, Kiba. Now that that's over, when can I see you again?" Naruto turned back towards Sasuke with such a look of longing Sasuke almost missed the appearance of his friend.

Large tattoos on your face? Seriously?

"Who says I want to see you again?"

My heart. My heart does and damn it for breaking when you give me that look.

There were flames in his eyes and he almost felt taller to Sasuke when he walked up to him and put a finger in his face. "There's no way you can stand there and tell me you felt nothing. That you feel nothing when I look at you, when I hold you."

Those last two words were so quiet Sasuke could barely hear them. But he did. He just didn't know what to do, what this new feeling was. This was all too new.

"I don't know what to think. You've got my head all scrambled!"

"Sasuke, I swear to God when I find you, you better run you candy ass bastard!"

Looks like our friends are on the same wavelength.

Sighing in defeat, Naruto looked at him with a sad smile "Guess that's my cue, huh?"

They heard Shikamaru getting closer. Sasuke felt the panic rising. Naruto pulled him in for a quick kiss, whispered in his ear and with a squawk coming from his brunette friend, they were gone.

Sasuke stood there, frozen in place for a couple of seconds before Shikamaru found him.

"You better have a good reason for leaving me with them old chicks you – oh. So I assume tonight's off?" he asked, waving his hand at Sasuke's appearance. It was a damn shame that the lazy guy was so smart.

"Please don't profile me right now, Shika. I've had a weird night." Sasuke started walking back towards the house before a hand on his shoulder stopped him in his tracks.

"Fix yourself, Sas. Your family will have a field day if they were to see you in this…condition." Nodding, Sasuke started smoothing out his hair and his clothing. Rubbing at his face in hopes of it getting back to a slightly normal state, he turned to his friend for confirmation.

Shikamaru nodded and they walked towards the back patio in silence. Just before entering Shikamaru spoke up "I know you're not ready to talk right now. But we will. And Sasuke? I won't judge."

Taking a shaky breath, Sasuke nodded. "I'm going in, gotta catch some Z's. You staying?"

Without looking for any confirmation, Sasuke walked through his house and bid his goodbyes as he was supposed to, like the good, normal, son he was.

When Sasuke finally slipped between the soft sheets of his bed, he could think of only one thing.

Tomorrow, at the top of the mountain. I'll be waiting until sundown.

So there you have it. The edited version! YAY! I'll be posting the second installment hopefully by Friday, most likely Saturday because I have work on Friday but I'll try my best.
