Arthur just stood there and stared. There was a portal. Slap dab in the middle of Camelot's court! They don't know how it got there. The court was empty one day and boom. Portal's there the next. It was just...there.

"What are you doing?"

Arthur was pulled out of his revering startled for a second. No, not startled. He wasn't startled at all. A Prince can not be startled by anything his manservant does.

"Nothing. Aren't you supposed to be mucking the stables, Merlin?" Arthur raised a brow at his companion. Merlin's reaction, of course, was to ignore him and ask more stupid questions.

"Arthur, you've been standing here for 20 minutes looking at this...portal." His brow furrowed and he gave a funny look towards said object. Arthur rolled his eyes and spoke in a flat tone.

"Your observation skills never cease to amaze me."

"Thank you, sire." Merlin was grinning cheekily. His blues eyes full of innocence and smugness. His too big dopey ears appearing endearing and if possible, even more huge! He almost looked like a hamster! And that vexed Arthur. As if Merlin needed any more excuses for Castle maids and cooks to coo over him.

The two friends fell into a companionable silence as they looked on at the back stoned portal. And after a few minutes, of course it was Merlin who broke the silence.

"So..." he started, clearing his throat. "you going in?"

Arthur scoffed, giving Merlin a look.

"Don't be stupid Merlin." Arthur walked away from the portal and headed inside the castle, Merlin in tow.

"Where are you going?" Merlin asked. Arthur didn't turn around when he answered. He made a beeline for his chambers.

"To pack. Go grab some food to pack. I don't know where it will take us or how long we'll be in there, but I'm going to find out."

Well there you have it folks! Part 1 of Arthur and Merlin's Minecraft adventures! This little fic here was inspired by MegWinchester-TimeLord's story "Changed", Chapter 30. Lovely drabble series, wonderful to read and very entertaining. :D
