Hello Nightians! I know it's been years, so I'm sorry it took so long! But here I am! 3

So this chapter is a work of art (not really but humour me). I've been writing it slowly (like it's been weeks for some reason) so I hope you all enjoy it!

Let me know what you think :)

Kaoru

I stared at myself in the mirror, my eyes narrowed. What was I doing? Hikaru was still missing, and here I was getting ready for a ball. Somehow, him not being here felt all right though. Somehow it felt like I never was a twin. Somehow it felt like this is how life was meant to be.

Too bad I didn't eat him in the womb.

I jumped at my sickening thought. What the hell? Where had that come from? Why would I ever have thought of that? Maybe Tsuneo was rubbing off on me. Maybe I was getting darker because of my jealousy.

"Agh!" I cried out, fisting my hands into my hair. Taking a step back I fell onto my bed, trying to erase the dark thoughts from my mind.

The maid who was helping me get dressed gasped, "Master, are you okay? You're going to wrinkle your suit!"

Like I really cared about my suit?

I glared at her, "Leave me."

"But, Master-"

"I said leave!"

Meekly, the maid left my room, closing the door behind her.

Ah, man. What was wrong with me? Why was I getting angry and shouting at everyone? This wasn't me. Hika was the serious twin, I was supposed to be the fun twin. The kind twin.

I sat up, crossing my legs like a small child. "Hika… where are you?"

Closing my eyes, I took a slow breath, trying to calm my shaken nerves. Why did I have such a bad feeling about tonight? Why did I feel like this ball was going to tear a part of me away forever?

"Kaoru?" A slight knock tapped my door.

Kisuru.

I bolted off the bed and was across the room in seconds, yanking the door open. The scene before me made me freeze.

Kisuru was wearing a beautiful sky blue dress, which made her skin tone seem like a porcelain doll. The pale skin was highlighted by small tones of pink here and there. Was she blushing?

The dress hugged her body, but flared out at her hips, making it the traditional ball-gown type. Her shoulders were bare, however decorated with sparkles that made the light glint off of them. A silver necklace with a small red jewel hung around her neck.

Her face was captivating. Kisu did not need a lot of makeup. Simple on her looked elegant. A very light blue, ringed with a light black framed her eyes, so that it didn't overtake her face. Her lips shimmered a sparkly pink.

And all of her red hair had been piled on her head, with little wisps sticking out here and there as accents. Someone had placed small snowflake pins in her hair, which I assumed were made of diamond with the way they sparkled.

Kisuru looked like a princess. And in her presence, it was dazzling.

"Wow." I whispered after a moment.

Kisu's cheeks darkened and she looked down for a moment. "Is it too much?"

"Too much?" I asked, incredulous. "Are you kidding me, Kisu? You look beautiful! You look radiant!"

Her cheeks darkened even more, and she began to play with her fingernails.

I frowned at her. "Is something wrong?"

"I just… I wish Hikaru was here with us. I wanted this to be an event that we all shared. I wanted all of us to be happy."

I heard her voice crack, and knew all too well that she wanted to cry. My throat tightened in response, but I would not let myself cry in front of her.

I held out my arms and she walked into my chest, wrapping her own delicate arms around me.

"Don't cry, Ki. I'm sure he will be here tonight. You just have to believe."

She nodded into my chest, and I gave a squeak of protest. "Please don't wipe your makeup off on me!"

Laughing, she brought up her face so that I could see her. "Aww, why not? Scared of a little makeup?"

I hissed in the back of my throat, "Hey, I tried my hardest to look good. Are you going to ruin that for me?"

"Depending on if I would have fun doing it or not!" She pouted at me like a pro.

Throwing up my hands in defeat, I shook my head.

We grinned at each other for a few minutes before a maid appeared. "Master, my lady, your ride is here."

I saw Kisuru's mouth quirk up into a smile. "We don't need a ride."

The maid frowned at her, clearly confused.

You aren't the only one, cupcake. What was Kisuru thinking? What was going on?

Grabbing my hand, Kisuru brushed past the maid, who had a look of shock colouring her face.

"I pulled a few favours." Kisu said, pulling me along beside her. "I haven't felt like myself in quite a while, so I decided I wanted to do something for me. If you're mad at me, I'm sorry. But I wanted to have some fun. I wanted to show Hikaru what I could do as well, but it seems like that will have to wait."

"Where are we going?" I questioned, glancing at her face. A bright smile was lighting up her face. Her eyes sparkled in mischievous notions. What in the world?

The front door opened, a chauffer holding a set of keys in his hand.

Kisuru pivoted, turning to face me. "Are you ready to go?"

"Yes?"

She laughed at me. "Don't sound so confused, sweetie. I promise it's not that bad."

"From where you're standing? No, it's not that bad. From where I'm standing? You could be feeding me to a bear and I would have no idea!"

"If we approached a bear, you would have no idea that it was going to eat you?"

"Exactly!"

Kisuru laughed again. "You're so silly, Kaoru! Trust me."

I gulped audibly.

A maid helped Kisuru put on a coat while she held her hand out for the keys.

Was she going to drive?

Commoners drove. Aristocrats didn't drive. We were chauffeured places. We didn't need to know such a menial skill.

Pulling my hand again, we walked out into the snowy night.

Kisuru paused in front of a blue car that I wasn't familiar with. It looked sleek and fast, with a horse emblem on the front of it. That's all I knew though.

"What is this?" I creased my brow, staring at her face.

"It's a mustang, Kaoru. I had it imported. It's standard."

That meant nothing to me. What did standard mean? Was this car standard from wherever it was from? Did it mean it was special? What was the horse emblem? Why was it here?

"Uh, Kisu-"

"Shut up and get in, Kaoru. We are going for a ride!"

I whimpered slightly before sliding into the passengers seat.

Kisuru slid in, and automatically shifted her grip onto a stick that had a white and red ball on it.

"What's that?" I pointed to the ball.

Frowning at me, she glanced at it. "It's a Pokeball."

That went right over my head.

"A what?"

"From Pokemon? It's used to capture the Pokemon."

Was she speaking another language? I didn't understand a single thing.

She shook her head, before the car lurched forward, leaving our snow-filled yard in the dust. The look on her face was one of ease as she weaved in and out of traffic.

My nails dug into the leather as I held on for dear life.

Dear god, I am going to die with a crazy woman beside me.
