Hei

The rubble filled courtyard came into view. Fighting my way out of a group of soldiers had left me with cuts and bruises, but I got out and away without causing any of them any serious harm. I stopped, crouching behind a large chunk of rubble as I studied what was happening. I saw Sakura, Naruto, First and Lady Blue together. Naruto and Sakura were both on the ground. I couldn't see either of their faces, but a sword protruded from Naruto's back with Lady Blue standing on top of him and First stood beside Sakura closest to me.

"Kill her, slowly" ordered Lady Blue with a cruel smile.

"No" I heard Naruto's muffled voice before Lady Blue pressed her foot down hard against his head. Lady Blue continued to hiss something back down at him. I pulled my daggers out by my sides ready at a moments notice. First got to his knees and held a dagger above Sakura, who didn't struggle. I stood up and threw one of my daggers towards First's back. My dagger lodged itself just below his right shoulder. He arched back in pain and I tugged at the wire that rang from the dagger to me to make it tight. He turned to face my direction and I had revealed my hiding place. He glared at me before throwing a kunai my way. I was forced to block the kunai with my other dagger and in the process First had delayed my contractor ability and pulled the dagger from his back. My wire went loose and I gave it a tug that made the wire and dagger come back to me. With both of my dagger now I charged forward to engage First. He pulled out one of his swords and came towards me. Behind him I could see Lady Blue's displeasure at my reappearance.

First and I collided mid way between where I had been hidden and where Naruto and Sakura lay. We exchanged a series of attacks between our weapons. If I played my cards right I could get rid of him for good.

Naruto

I saw First turn away and head for who I could only guess to be Lee. Sakura saw me looking past her as First left, but her eyes stayed on mine. Lady Blue still stood above me with her foot pressed to the side of my face, holding me in place. With First distracted this was the perfect chance to get free. Sakura and I exchanged serious glances. Working together for many years had given us the edge, being able to understand the others intentions from just a look.

Sakura

I could tell from the look in Naruto's eyes. This was the time to turn the tables. We weren't just going to lay here and die anymore. I had to act first. If Naruto made a move Lady Blue would feel it and make him suffer for it. Without moving my body I looked up to Lady Blue. She was sneering in the direction where First had left, unhappy with what ever was happening over there. Just as I was hoping, her attention wasn't on us. I needed to catch her by surprise so I needed to move quickly. I felt bruised and beaten and every joint seemed to ache, But I built up my chakra, to give me the speed and strength I needed and I sprang up with ninja speed. Her eyes widened with her surprise, but before she could say a word I planted my fist into her middle and sent her flying the other way. She landed on the ground and rolled several more meters, laying still for a moment before she started to stir again. I went to Naruto, Put my foot against his back and gripped the sword, preparing myself to pull it out of him.

"Sakura!" I turned to see Hei on the ground. My eyes focused on the threat Hei was warning me about. First had his sword before him and was charging at me to defend Lady Blue and to stop me from freeing Naruto. By the time I had noticed him he was already too close for comfort I leapt away from Naruto as he swung his sword sideways. I was concerned over leaving Naruto pinned to the ground, but First continued to chase me and from the corner of my eye I could see Hei getting up and making a run for Naruto.

Naruto

Sakura had moved out of my view. First had chased her away and I was suddenly filled with worry. From where I lay I could see Lee heading for me, his black cloak flowing out behind him. Lee grasped the sword in my back, but remained still for a moment before stepping back.

"I can't pull it out, you'll bleed to death if I do" he said without looking me in the eyes

"I already am" I replied gritting my teeth. Lee looked around to where Sakura must have been before looking back at me and left without a word. I knew he was going to help Sakura deal with First. With everyone out of my view I closed my eyes and tried to bring back the contractor power. Immediately the urges and craving for me to make my payment vanished and I could feel the power flowing through me. Suddenly I was open to what was happening around me. I could feel the others around me. I could feel Sakura moving evasively as First chased her and tried to strike her with his sword and I could feel Lee closing in on First. Closest to me I could feel Lady Blue trying to slowly get up again after Sakura's powerful blow. I kept my eyes closed taking in everything happening around me, it was all I could do till Sakura came to free me and heal me. Lady Blue was up on her feet and regaining her balance quickly and making her way to me. Despite my new abilities I could not tell what her expression or mood was or her intentions.

The other three were occupied further away as Lady Blue reached me. I could hear her panting heavily she gripped the sword in my back and gave it a twist. I cried out in the pain and my body went rigid. Black and white dots danced across my vision as I struggled not to lose consciousness.

"You piece of shit" she hissed as she gave the sword another twist and my body responded as it did before, "you ruined everything" she coughed and I felt splatters of warm liquid fall on the side of my face and from what I could see of her face from where I lay I saw the blood around her mouth. Sakura had dealt a hard blow. A fresh wave of blood was coming out from under me as Lady Blue made the wound worse. I was going to die unless I did something and quick. My body began to glow blue again as I gave in to the power. It felt much stronger now than it had ever been before. Wind stirred up around us, its speed increasing by the second, until it was going so fast that Lady Blue had to lower herself on the ground in front of me on her stomach to stop herself from being blown away. I could feel the sword swaying in the intense wind. It was as though the wind was an extension of myself. I focused on that sensation, that the wind was my arms. With my eyes closed I could picture it perfectly and in response the wind plucked the sword from my back wound. With the wound open I knew I couldn't stay alive for long, but at least I was free. The wind continued to whirl around us faster and faster forming almost a column around us, separating Lady Blue and I from the rest of the world. The wind whipped around me, but it didn't bother me. Lady Blue held her eyes tightly closed by my feet, her hair and dress whipping around. She lifted her head up slightly, squinting through the wind at me. The look she sent my way was filled with nothing but hate. It reminded me of the looks I received back home in the village when I was younger. I was suddenly filled with anger and the wind around me reflected it. Swirling faster and faster till Lady Blue was lifted up off the ground and sent around and around the column of wind, winding her way higher and higher till she disappeared with a scream into the wall of wind. With the sight of her gone the wind quickly calmed and the wall of wind surrounding me broke away, showing me the outside world again. Lady Blue was no where to be seen. Only her blood stains on the courtyard remained.

Hei

The whole courtyard had become a wind storm, but nothing compared to the column of air surrounding where Naruto had been. It was like a controlled tornado. This sudden show of Naruto's power had shocked us all at first, but our shock faded as First continued to stab and slice at us. Sakura was good at evading, but every now and again she would try to get in close for a hit, only just getting away from First in time as he swung his sword at her, leaving her with several minor cuts. But I could tell she was becoming exhausted so I tried to get First's attention, by trying to attack him more often. I landed a cut here and there, but nothing long enough to kill him with. The wind around us dyed down and Naruto came back into view, Lady Blue was gone.

Even then First continued to attack us. I wasn't sure if he had noticed Lady Blue's absence or not, but he attacked us more fiercely now and I was growing more exhausted by the minute.

Sakura

The wind vanished and I saw Naruto standing there, the blue glow around him fading away and him covered in blood. Hei had gained most of First's attention so I took the chance to run to him and try to stop his bleeding. As I got closer I saw him try to take a couple steps before he stumbled and landed on the ground on all fours. He coughed up blood on the stone ground, his body struggled from exhaustion and he crumpled to the ground, blood oozing from his horrible wound. I was close to him now and with no time to lose I dropped to my knees, letting my momentum hurl me the rest of the way, skin on my knees were torn away, but it was an easy fix compared to Naruto's wound. When I was beside him I rolled him onto his back and pressed my hands on his wound. It was far worse than it had been earlier, no doubt thanks to Lady Blue. He groaned when I applied pressure to his wound and started to pour my chakra into him. I didn't have all that much left, but his wounds were my top priority right now. He held his eyes tightly closed, but after a short while he visibly relaxed as the pain started to fade. After a short while Naruto lifted his arm to his mouth and bit down hard on it till the wound bled then dropped his arm again. I assumed that this was his payment for using his powers, but I left it at that and continued to work on him in silence. No doubt he would sleep like a log after this.

Hei

It was me and my two double edges daggers against First, Lady Blue's number one man, and his single sword. He was quick and his aim was deadly. His attacks left me no option other than to evade, leaving me no chance to attack. He was panting heavily and growing exhausted. He would mess up soon, he had to. A blur of red passed the corner of my eye and I cursed thinking he had reinforcements, till I saw her. Third appeared behind First and she quickly drove a kunai into his back. He cried out and turned around slashing his sword this way and that. Third was faster and leapt back in time. First took a step after her, but he didn't get far before I threw one of my daggers into his back again, He spun around the face me with a feral expression. With his sword he cut the wire that connected me to my dagger and came for me. He was slower already, not bothering to remove the weapons from his back. Third had vanished and I suspected that I was on my own again. With his slowed reactions I took on First head on. Armed with my last dagger I blocked his attacks, trying to get in close enough to grab a hold of him with my spare hand. First did his best to keep his distance from me, his sword being longer than my dagger, it wasn't difficult for him. Several excruciating minutes past of metal against metal, till his sword came down and while blocking it his sword came down in between the gap between the twin blades of my dagger. I took my chance and twisted my dagger with such force that we both lost grip of our weapons and they went tumbling and sliding along the stone ground still locked together. Disarmed I rushed at First and knocked him to the ground. I sat on top of him, pinning him down with my weight. One of his hands were trapped under my knee while with his spare hand he tried to strike out at my face, but I grabbed him by the wrist and suddenly his expression showed a trace of fear. He knew what was going to happen next.

With my grasp on him my body began to glow blue and I sent my electricity in him. His body jerked under my weight for several seconds before he lay still and I stood up, leaving his dead body where it lay and headed back to Naruto and Sakura.
The war was over at last.

Sakura

After First had been killed and Lady Blue's body found, Third took control of the war. With Hei at her side both the contractors and Lady Blue's troops stopped their fighting. Any injured people, contractor or normal, were taken into Lady Blue's fortress to be taken care of by the medical staff. The war had ended.

The next day Third gathered the troops and Hei brought along the contractors that had fought and Third then told them all about what Lady Blue had been doing with the captured contractors and how she was dealing with Hell's Gate and the contractors in the wrong way. Together Hei and Third agreed to work together to control the contractors. And a program was set up for contractors to attend where they learnt to embrace emotions again and slowly, over several years, contractors began to be accepted back into the community and were allowed to come and go as they pleased.

For those who stayed or wanted to help, Third and Hei created a police group made up of contractors and ninja working together to deal with contractors that did the wrong thing, but the contractors caught were never treated badly. They were held in the fortress along with the police force and put in the program. Only re-offenders were kept in prison, but they were still treated far better than when Lady Blue had been in charge.

The ninja nations were informed of everything that had happened and any ninja that wanted to return home did. Naruto came home with me, back to the Leaf Village. Despite being a contractor he returned to his old cheerful self and spent a lot of time learning to control his new abilities and life went on normally, I worked at the hospital and Naruto ate ramen and every now and again we would hang out together, train or go on a mission together. It was comforting to have Naruto back in the village. Sure it wasn't as quiet anymore, but I enjoyed his loudness, without him the village just didn't seem like home.
