She'll Call

"I need you Hoggle. I don't know why, but every now and again in my life, for no reason at all, I need you. All of you."

"Well, why didn't you say so?"

Outside Sarah's bedroom window, a pale barn owl sat silently on the tree branch, watching the revelry within in. Sarah had a beaming smile on her face, hugging every goblin she could reach. She laughed and danced along with her new friends and confetti rained from the ceiling.

I need you. All of you.

Did she know her words included him too?

I don't know why…

True. Sarah didn't yet understand the connection between them. But someday she would. Jareth sighed, spread his wings and leapt from the branch into the night air.

Someday she would figure it out.

And someday…for no reason at all…she'll call.
