Honor

This story is in honor of all those who lost there lives on September 11th 2001. I do not own soul eater. So read, review, and...

It was a cold, calm morning in death city. Though the streets were filled with people, all was very quiet, and solemn. No one was smiling, no one laughed, today was just too painful for that.

In the gallows manor, Liz and Patty were simply sitting in the main hall. Patty looked more serious than she ever had before, with a solemn look in her eyes she held her sister as she remembered that day. She could still remember seeing the plane crash, the smell of the fire, and the sound as it all came crumbling down. She remembered running over, telling Patty to stay put as she ran to help. She held her arm, remembering the pain from lifting heavy beams and pulling people out. She was torn from her thoughts as Kid came down and sat with them, none of them said a word, after all what could they really say.

Giving a single nod Blackstar went to work, lifting the heavy lights with ease and putting them into place. In only a few minutes the work was done. As Blackstar turned to leave he waved them farewell, not saying a word. There was really nothing he could say, not today.

Soul and Maka sat together in their apartment, neither speaking. In her hand, Maka held a picture of her mother and her father standing in front of a large structure, the world trade center. Soul placed a comforting hand as tears fell from his meister and closest friend.

As the sun disappeared beneath the horizon, everyone made their way to the academy. Standing before the school, his usual cheerful and comic demeanor gone, was lord death. As everyone slowed to a stop lord death gave a slow and solemn bow to the crowd. Then slowly, and carefully he clapped his hands together, the lights blazing to life the minute his hands came together. Onward the light rose into the sky, illuminating the twin spires as they continued onward. The light in the might sky resembled that of two tall towers standing alone in the night. No one said a word, not a sound. What was there to say about that day. They simply stood and honored the people that were left behind September 11th of 2001. The day that a nation stopped and stood in shock, the day the towers fell...
