Hey everyone! SO sorry for the long wait, but since it was my first year at college (and due to current life events if you read my profile) I've been having a hard time fitting writing into my schedule, but HERE'S A WELL-DESERVED UPDATE FOR ALL OF YOU BEAUTIFUL READERS. I miss you all like crazy :'C
I want to thank you all for your patience. I really have had a rough time recently, but I'm back and am so much better than I used to be. I appreciate all of my readers and reviewers, but just simply reading my stories makes me so happy. You guys are the best. Seriously, don't stop being so awesome.
Also, I started a new story, Hunting Season, and it is a House M.D. story. I'd appreciate it if you all checked it out, and if you haven't seen the show WATCH IT. It's wonderful.
Anyway, enjoy the next chapter of To Save a Hero!
ALSO, at the end of the chapter there is a reference to a HILARIOUS glitch in the game, Heavy Rain, so I recommend you watch the video on youtube (type in Shaun Glitch Heavy Rain - it should be the first one and it's about nine minutes?). HOWEVER, this video does spoil a lot of the game, so watch only if you want (it's hilarious though, oh god, please watch it)
Disclaimer: I do not own any entitlement to the Wreck-It Ralph film, the plethora of video game characters present in this fic, nor am I affiliated in any way with Disney Productions. The story I have produced is in fact my own, however, the entirety is written merely for fan-fictioning entertainment-not for profit.

Chapter VI: Not So Different
***Beautiful Mystery – Owl City (GziD Remix)
"Holy Konami…" Ralph muttered.
The bad guy was standing in a dark alleyway, a pitch black sky with orangish clouds high above. The rain was cold, but not unbearable. He held out his hand to see the drops in his hand—the hi-definition was incredible. He couldn't even see the pixels of the rain. It looked….real.
Shaking himself of the initial surprise of the intense graphics and culture shock, Ralph walked forward as he made his way down the alleyway, which made a quick turn at the end. He turned to the right and had to cover his eyes for a second at an intense and abrupt light. Sounds suddenly filled his ears—the sounds of cars and the rumble of crowds and people and honks, even a strange 'wooshing' noise that sounded like an airship?—it all overwhelmed him before he slowly lowered his hand that was protecting his eyes.
As his hand dropped, his eyes widened.
It was a whole other world.
Ralph found himself standing in a large, bustling hub—a giant intersection squished between tall, dark skyscrapers that towered over the junction of streets with neon lights dancing all over the buildings and signs. There were four main streets, wide and busy with traffic that created the intersection. They were formed in the shape of a narrow 'X' with a number of tiny alleyways, such as the one Ralph had entered through, filtering through some of the tall buildings. Decorating the multi-story buildings were at least a hundred electronic billboards displaying crazy ads. Neon signs flashed and danced in his eyes advertising a ton of products he had never heard of. The hi-def rain poured all around him and ran through the streets, but it didn't seem to bother all of the people walking to and fro in the hub.
Suddenly an electric blue, taxi-looking car raced past him and drove through a deep puddle causing a tidal wave of rainwater to soak Ralph.
"Ahh!" he cried out as the water splashed him, but after he had been hit he wore an intense frown.
He quickly shook it off though, making a displeased face as if he had eaten chocolate. He pulled out his GPS to make sure it was okay. Luckily, it was still pretty dry. He covered it with his giant hand as he shook it, hoping to get better signal, but it was still trying to decipher the area's coordinates and Vanellope's as well.
He grunted, frustrated, but he was immediately distracted by a few girls who walked by clad in interesting, modern outfits. He quickly ducked into the alleyway; however, since these girls were commandos…and after all he had heard about the terrifying game characters he didn't want to risk being devoured or de-pixelated by them.
But the girls barely paid him any notice. They weren't very frightening either.
"Funny. I imagined them a whole lot scarier—" his voice trailed off as his big eyebrows raised at the sight of the pretty girls.
A young girl with a brunette ponytail, plaid shirt, cut-up jeans, and army boots was talking to someone named Aiden, but it seemed like she was talking to herself. And chatting casually behind her were two armored women, their attire very futuristic and completely foreign to Ralph. One had a boy cut, dark black hair, and beautiful blue eyes. The other girl was taller and had short, auburn hair and green eyes. Overhearing their conversation, one's name was Ashley and the other was Commander…Shep? He wasn't sure if he had heard it correctly.
Suddenly, his GPS beeped at him. He looked down to see some yellow, pixely words displayed on the screen:
ENTER PORT TO NARROW DOWN COORDINATES
It continued to blink at him as he began to slightly panic,
"Port? Port—what in Luigi's name is a port?"
He looked around once more at his new surroundings. There were a ton of people in the square.
"How am I ever going to find her in this bustling of a station?" He sighed, furrowing his brows a bit.
Scanning the city signs and the crowd for a sense of direction, Ralph got an idea.
'Aha! I know!' he thought with a smirk.
XXX
Ralph had made his way through the crazy hub, and was only almost run over twice. Having followed some neon signs, he found himself in another alleyway, but this one wasn't as hidden and was big enough for cars to drive through.
Walking past him in the street was a scruffy-looking man with dark hair and ripped clothes, who was shouting, "Shaun!", over and over again as if he was desperately looking for someone. Ralph's eyes followed him, a sense of concern entering his heart.
"Yeah, I feel ya buddy…" he mumbled to himself, thinking about how he himself was looking for someone important to him.
After a couple of steps, Ralph stopped and looked up. Above him was a big neon sign that spelled out in big red letters, ' Telma's '.
Ralph put his big fists on his hips,
"Always gone to Tapper's whenever I needed some advice. How different could it be?"
The bad guy stepped forward to enter the bar when suddenly a buff, guard in a suit and tie pixelated in front of the door,
"I.D.?"
'Oookay, this is pretty different' Ralph thought to himself as a confused expression covered his face.
"Um, don't you guard-guys usually just ask for a name?"
"I.D.?" the guard asked again, this time a little more irritated.
Ralph wasn't going to lie, he was a bit intimidated by the fact that the guard was bigger than him, and by the dark sunglasses the man wore. What was he supposed to do?
"Well, uh, let me just check here," Ralph patted the back pockets of his overalls and looked into the little pocket on his shirt pretending to see if he had an I.D., "Well isn't that the darndest, I must have left it in my game, ha ha."
He was trying to play the innocent card, but the dark-skinned bouncer wasn't buying any of it.
'Man, why are these pixel-cops always so uptight?'
Ralph grinned and stretched his arms backwards,
"Can't I just, like, guess a password or something?"
The guard's eyebrow twitched.
"No I.D.—No entry."
The two faced each other for a couple of seconds in silence as Ralph's smile slid off of his face,
"Great…"he mumbled.
Suddenly, the guy who had been calling out someone's name earlier walked up to Ralph and the bouncer.
"Shaun?" he cried out.
Ralph recoiled a bit, the man's shout hurting his ears.
"Hey, man, no need to yell. We're literally two feet from you—"
"Shaun!" he shouted again.
This outburst made both Ralph and the body guard to jump a bit. The bad guy's eyes were wide in confusion, darting back and forth humorously, trying to think of what to do.
He raised his hands up to try to calm the miserable-looking man down.
"I'm sorry, but I don't know who—"
"SHAAUN!"
"—is…" Ralph finished his sentence, his facial expression now annoyed, but still concerned for the raving man.
The big, overall-wearing character turned to the bouncer, "Yeah, I really don't know who this guy is."
The guard looked at Ralph and then the man,
"I.D.?"
The man was quiet for a minute, but then opened his mouth wide and, logically, cried out,
"SHAUN!"
"I.D.?"
"SHAAUN."
"I.D.?"
"SHAAAUUUNN!"
Ralph literally watched this scene ensue with the most ridiculous expression on his face. Then a lightbulb lit up above his head, and his eyes blinked wide open.
Carefully and quietly, the bad guy slowly began to side step past the bouncer, who was literally losing his mind over the raving madness happening in front of him. The two were now shouting into each other's faces "I.D.?!" and "SHAAAUUNNN!" respectively.
Ralph made it to the door and quietly slipped inside,
'Geez, and to think everyone back home is utterly terrified of these loonies.'
I hope you all liked it, and I hope to get another update on here to you all soon!
Thank you so much for reading, and have a great day =)
