Recap of Chapter 1:

"Please take care of my little brother. He means more than my life to me. I trust you to keep him safe." said Kagome, almost tearing up again. Managing to hold back her tears, she turned around, sparing them all one last glance. The last thing she ever saw in Konohagakure or The Village Hidden in the Leaves, were all three elders, smirking cruelly – almost grinning – and Kakashi, who had taken his mask off, staring at her with grief in his visible eye. With that said, Kagome left through the doors that lead out of her beloved father's village.

Out of their lives.

Now:

Kagome walked through the village one last time before she left the village she had been born and grown to be a successful kunoichi, through her own hard work and not her parents influence, for good. As she looked around, many of the villagers had started to follow her, not really recognizing who they were following. As the villagers were following her, they started to get nervous and hateful towards her, so one of the villagers just started shouting "Leave demon! You don't belong here in this village!"

As that was yelled, Kagome put her hands over her ears due to the high pitched sound that she picked up with her new sensitivity to sound, due to becoming a demon, and stopped her trek to the main gates of the village. She took her hands away from her ears and turned around to see that there was a large group of villagers that had gathered to basically run her out of the village.

"I was doing just that until one of you yelled at me. Go back to whatever you were doing before you saw me." said Kagome as she turned around to continue her trek to the main gates of the village. But, before she could get any father from the villagers another one said "Good riddance!"

"The Fourth Hokage saved us from one demon, but another just surfaces with the village itself." said a villager from the middle of the group. With every word the villager said, was coated in as much malice as they could muster.

Kagome, with hearing those words, knew now was the time to leave. Since she already had her back to them, she just used her transportation jutsu to get to the main gate faster. As she disappeared in a swirl of blood red rose petals and reappeared in front of the gate guards. The guards were startled enough that they had jumped out of their seats to see who had come to the gates and just stared at the demon that was just standing in front of them, though it seemed that they wanted to leave the village. Kagome, looking at the guards from her peripheral vision, who were blatantly watching her, decided to start walking towards the closed gates. That surprised the guards even further, making them look at each other as if saying 'the demon is leaving of its own accord?', but then realized the gates needed to be open in order for the demon to actually leave. Kagome saw that the guards were opening the gates and saw the opportunity to sprint through the gates while they were just barely open. Just as they got the gates open to what looked as a small passage way, they were surprised yet again at how fast she got through the small opening, but then closed the gates immediately so that the demon couldn't come back in if it changed its mind.

Kagome knew she needed to get as far away as possible. She ran until she was 10 miles away from the village gates. Once she stopped, she turned around to look at the place that she used to call home.

'Why did this have to happen? Why now?' Kagome thought. 'Papa, if you were here everything would be different. I just know it, but...' as she thought this, she also thought about her little brother, Naruto. 'Please let my little brother be safe and regarded as a hero like our father, the Fourth Hokage wanted.' She knew deep down that that wasn't going to happen since she dealt with it first hand while leaving the village. Kagome knew she needed to find a new place to live and to get stronger so that she could return to her brother and protect him the way that their parents did her.

Kagome looked to the sky and saw that it was going to be dark soon, so she needed to leave now. She knew this and yet had one last thing that she wanted to do. She looked at the gates one last time and voiced her promise to Naruto.

"One day little brother, I will return to you stronger than I am now and I will never leave you again. I swear this on my honor."

With that said she turned away from Konohagakure and made her way into the surrounding forest, not knowing what she had gotten herself into.

A/N: Ladytygon here. I am sorry that it has taken me this long to update, but I don't have a ton of free time between school and work. Also, my laptop hasn't been cooperating with me like before so I am trying to get a new one. I will be graduating this winter and I may loose more time. I am going to try and post a couple chapters at a time when I can, but please be patient with me. Let me know what you think about this chapter. Well until then, ttfn ta ta for now.
