A/N: Hey guys, this little oneshot is called "Be Still." Inspiration from the song Be Still, by The Fray, and the song actually goes very well with this piece. Spoilers for Mark of Athena, takes place right after their fall.

i'm here

At first, Percy thought that he was dead on the cold, stone floor. Then, he realized that he was in fact alive, with his arms still wrapped around Annabeth, who was shivering. They laid side by side. He tightens his grip on her, but allowed her to put her head in the crook of his shoulder.

"It's okay, Annabeth. We're together." Annabeth didn't meet his eyes, but he felt warm tears on his skin. Whose they were, he wasn't sure.

She muttered against his neck, "It's not okay."

That was when Percy realized that she was shaking, her chest racked with sobs. He honestly wanted to cry as well (probably was), but he just kissed her hair.

"Be still, know that I'm here. We're going to be okay."

i'm with you

They are crossing a valley now; a haggard, barren place. Both Annabeth and Percy are stumbling, trying to get as far as they can before Hell's nightfall, which they had discovered consisted of even more horrors than day.

The blood sun had just set when they dashed into a small cave. They worked together to cover the opening with a small boulder, then collapsed against each other from pure exhaustion. After a short rest, Annabeth got up and rummaged around through her backpack, hunting for ambrosia. When she found it, she stuffed a piece into her mouth, and one into Percy's as well.

She laid back down, putting her head on his chest. They had been through so much in what, how long had it been? Three, four days?

Annabeth felt the soft rise and fall of his breathing, which soon turned uneven when he had fallen asleep. She wanted to wake him up, but knew he needed his sleep, fitful or not. It wasn't until he started thrashing around that she shook him awake.

Percy's eyes shot open, and for a second, she saw absolute fear in them. He relaxed though when he saw Annabeth, and clung to her.

"I thought you were gone." He whimpered. She leaned up to kiss him, before stroking his hair soothingly.

"Be still, and know that I'm with you. I'll always be."

I was going to make it a lot longer, but I just wanted to keep it short and sweet. It would mean the world to me if you reviewed, or gave me feedback at any time.
