AN: So, it's been a while since I got time to update this story. The chapter is much shorter than I wanted it, but the next chapter will be longer. I'll get chapter 14 up as soon as I can. Until then, enjoy the new chapter.

One More Day.

Chapter 13: Daughter of Neptune, Wife of Lucian.

Persephone was glad she wasn't afraid of the living or the dead, because Camp Jupiter was full of both and all of them seemed to only have eyes for her, Maeve and Lucian. Or it could be the wings she had on her back.

Within a minute or two they came to a stop, having walked up a short hill and through much of the Camp. She didn't bother asking about anything on the way, there would be more time later.

"This is Temple Hill," Lucian said, glancing around them. "This temple was recently built here for me, yours is being constructed over there."

Persephone looked at the nearly complete structure, and took notice of a place for what looked like a statue and offerings alter. She was startled by it, though she had known she'd become a goddess after the quest was over and Gaea was defeated.

"Luk...Lucian, what is going on?"

"I'll explain; you see when Rome made the Greek gods their own, taking and changing them and their names, it also caused the gods to change," he began. "Zeus became Jupiter, Poseidon became Neptune, Hermes became Mercury and so on. Think of it as godly MPD. Most of the time we're Greek, but some of the time we're in our Roman form, as I am now."

Percy's eyes were wide but soon a look of understanding settled over her face.

"So Lucian is..."

"My Roman form and name, while Luke is my Greek form. Currently I am Roman. The main difference between the two camps is one is more militaristic and hardwired for Latin instead of Greek."

"But I speak perfect Latin," she said, confused and Lucian smirked.

"You do. All Greek demigods are able to recognize some Latin, as the Romans can recognize some Greek. You're special though, you're not just Greek, your Roman as well. Your brain is hardwired for both, which is probably why your ADHD is so much worse than most demigods," he explained. "You are the Daughter of Poseidon, and Legacy of Venus."

She nodded, still coming to terms with this. She was Greek, yet she had little to no memories of being Greek, and yet she was still Roman. It did explain why part of her wanted to acknowledge her patron as Rhea and the other as Ops. The same Lucian and other gods. The Greek side was stronger, but she could still feel her Roman blood there.

"And Maeve...with so much godly blood how is she even mortal?" she muttered to herself and Lucian wrapped an arm around his wife's waist.

"She is just a mortal because I was mortal when she was conceived. There is more to it, to answer your question, as long as there is a small percentage of human blood present in the child he or she will always be a demigod and mortal. It doesn't matter if their father is a god, and their mother a demigod with a godly parent who happens to be a descendent of twenty other gods and goddesses." Lucian shrugged. "It seems impossible, but that's just how it is. A god can only be born of two gods. That's how my father explained it to me at least."

"What happens to her when I become a goddess, though?"

"I almost forgot you didn't have most your memories," he said, smiling softly and kissing her forehead. "Zeus made it so we could raise her for most of the year, while your mother will care for her the other months we can not. Of course it makes it easier that my domain is over both camp as the god of demigods, and Maeve will spend a lot of time there once she's old enough to begin training."

Percy smiled, though she was a bit worried about the day Maeve would be faced with the hardships of being a demigod. Still, she could do what she could to help her daughter survive in their world of monsters and gods.

Percy liked Camp Jupiter so far. She was offered a room, which happened to be in New Rome instead of in the barracks.

She figured it was because of Maeve, and partially because she was the wife of one of their gods – new as he might be, he was still similar to a patron god as he was the god of demigods.

The bowing, and the calling of 'Lady Persephone' was something she could seriously do without. She could tell they were unsure of what to call her, seeing as chances were once she became a goddess her name would change to fit her Roman aspect; whatever that may be.

The first day she was showed around by the girl from the tunnels; Hazel Levesque.

She was also the one who showed her to her new home, which was a small house, almost like an apartment, but on ground level. It had a small bathroom, big enough for a shower, toilet and sink (all homes in New Rome did, despite anyone being allowed in the bath houses).

Other than that there was a kitchen, fairly large, living room, and two bedroom. It was homey, and more than she'd expected to be given.

She'd expected to be placed with the other legionary, and Reyna, the girl who had seemed as if she'd known her, had explained the next day that with her having a newborn and being the wife of Lucian the barracks would be inappropriate for her.

She was still part of the Legionary though, and was accepted into any of the Cohorts, probably in part to her status – which began to annoy her even more as time went on, but she chose to skillfully ignore it.

She chose to join the Fifth Cohort, which incidentally her newly found relation – she wasn't exactly sure what she would be, cousin or aunt – Gwen, Daughter of Venus was apart of.

"I see you've found our garden cafe to your liking," Reyna said as she entered the garden cafe.

Percy sat with a cup of hot chocolate, which was obviously an indulgence for the Romans who didn't seem the type. Maeve was in an portable bassinet beside her, gently sleeping away.

"Do you want to sit with us?" Persephone asked, motioning to the free area and Reyna took a second to think about it before she nodded.

"If that's alright with you, My Lady."

Persephone sighed.

"Please, just my name is fine. Percy or Sephie is fine."

Reyna nodded slowly and corrected herself, "Persephone then."

Close enough, Percy thought with a small smile.

"How are you enjoying your stay in New Rome?"

"It's beautiful there, here at Camp Jupiter in general. It reminds me of something but since my memories...well I don't know what." Percy sighed, sipping her hot chocolate. "I heard there is a War Game tonight. That sounds interesting."

"Yes, you of course as a member of the fifth cohort should participate. There are plenty of retired legionaries who wouldn't mind looking after Maeve."

"I've met some of them, one...um Ginny I think, offered to look after her when I was with the Legion."

"Ginny," Reyna began, smiling slightly. "She's Gwen's older sister, she's a good choice for that kind of duty. She was in the fourth cohort until a year ago, after the war against Saturn she retired after her full ten years had been served."

"Saturn," she muttered, and her head sparked with pain as she tried to remember something. It was important, she was sure of that but she just couldn't recall.

"The Titan Lord..." Reyna began, but Persephone's gasped which stopped her.

Percy looked at Maeve and once again remembered something, the war...against Kronos, who must be the Greek name of Saturn. Yet...she could remember being heavily involved in the Second Titan War. Other than remembering in bits and pieces when Kronos rose, in Luke's body, she drew a blank on just how involved in the war she'd been.

"I'm sorry, I just wasn't expecting that. It sounds familiar...a war..."

Reyna looked at her suspiciously for a few seconds before nodding gravely.

"Yes, it was a terrible time for demigods. You were lucky to not be involved in all of this during the war."

Percy bit the inside of her cheek to stop from saying anything, not that she knew a lot of her past, but she just knew she had been involved. She nodded.

"Yeah, lucky."

"Good, you're here Percy," Gwen said, handing her armor, which was roman in make and golden – similar to the armor Reyna wore. "Do you have weapons..."

"Thanks, and yeah," Percy said, placing her hand over her pen in her jean pocket, and then the lion-head necklace around her neck.

"Alright then, tonight we're playing Siege. We have Hannibal this game, so we'll be trying to take the fort from the other team."

"Similar to Capture the Flag, then," Percy said as she finished fastening the golden armor which actually had small designs of what seemed like silver along it when it caught the light the right way. She suspected this armor belonged to Gwen at one point. Still, it fit, and that was what mattered.

"What?" Gwen asked and Percy blinked, before shaking her head.

"I...don't know. I think it was a game I liked."

"Anyway, the game starts soon so get your weapon ready," she said, and Percy finished tying her long hair into a ponytail.

Pulling out her pen, she uncapped it and Anaklusmos glowed in her hand seconds later. Gwen and the other legionaries all looked in awe and the lightly glowing celestial bronze sword. It was different from the imperial gold they were used too.

"Celestial Bronze...that's rare," Hazel said, coming over to get a closer look. "Where did you get it?"

Percy shrugged.

"I'm not sure, I just know it was a gift."

"Right," Gwen said, shaking her head. "Legionaries, fall in, we have a game to win."

The legionaries cheered, and they headed towards the Field of Mars for a game that would never be forgotten.
