Chapter 20: Vacation Time

The sun is shining bright on the beaches of N. Sanity Island on a peaceful afternoon. After a long day of what Crash & his friends been through, this is a well-deserved vacation. Pura is busy sleeping in the shade from a tiki-statue, Crunch is wearing shades & doing push-ups to music on his jukebox, & Wyatt is yet again busy drooling over Coco, who's busy on her laptop as usual. & Crash is lying on a small, leafless tree doing, well, you would think he would be sleeping after saving the world once again, but instead he is…thinking?

Coco: "Uh, Aku Aku? Who are you talking to?"

Aku: "I am narrating to the readers."

Narrator: "I thought that was my job?"

Aku: "Sorry, continue."

Ahem, so anyways, Jade comes over to Crash to see what is up with him.

Jade: "Hey, hero. Something eatin' ya?"

Crash: "I'm just, thinking, about the future. You know I've been through a lot of adventures, & even though you've only been on the most recent ones, I just can't help but worry in some way. Whether Cortex comes back or not, I've no doubt gained some more good friends here, you & Wyatt, but also more enemies, too. Someone is always going to be out to get us, & I don't want anything to happen to you guys."

Jade: "Crash, you don't have to worry. We've showed that we're strong enough to fight like you, we all have a thrill of adventure like you, & we all fight bad people like you do."

Coco: "Yeah, & as long as we have each other, everything works out, right?"

Crash: "Well, yeah, of course. I guess I've just been at this hero-thing for so long that I'm letting certain things get to me."

Wyatt: "Dude, I've known you for, like, a very long time. Well, not known as in friends-wise at least before, but biggest fan-wise, & I know that you're a care-free bandicoot."

Crunch: "Yeah, bro. You been 'round the world, you traveled through time, you took control of mutants a whole lot bigger than you, & you even teamed up with Cortex to take down an even bigger threat! Anything that comes your way, you WILL be able to overcome it!"

Suddenly, Crash's mood starts to brighten to what it's supposed to be.

Crash: "You know what, you guys are right! I'm Crash Bandicoot, dang-it! & whatever tries to come my way, I'll overcome it with no sweat at all!"

Wyatt: "That's what I'm talking about!"

Jade is impressed with Crash's confidence, even so that she slyly walks over to him with a sinister smile.

Jade: "Ssso, no sweat at all, eh? Will you be saying the same in, per say, a jet-skiing race?"

Coco: "Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing, Jade!"

Crash: "Ahh, you mean a "boys v.s. girls challenge"? BRING IT ON!"

Jade & Coco: "Whoo!"

Wyatt: "*screech*"

Everyone stops & looks at Wyatt.

Wyatt: "Sorry, I do that when I get too excited."

Jade: "Wow, that's pretty embarrassing."

Just then, a small hermit-crab crawls by with its mischievous claws & snaps Jade's tail.

Jade: "MEOW!"

Now everyone stops & looks at Jade.

Jade: "Apparently I spoke too soon…"

Everyone laughs, including Jade, who's actually no longer ashamed of her "puberty stage".

Crash: "Don't worry, we all go through our 'stages' at one point in our lives. Heck, I use to be mute, but now I get to finally say what's on my mind!"

Jade: "You're right, one day you all will hear me roar, literally!"

Crash: "But until then, you & my lil' sister can eat me & Wyatt's dust in that jet-ski race!"

Coco: "Technically since we're going to be on water, dust would be illogical. I think you mean to 'Eat our H2o!'"

Jade: "H2o? How about mists?"

Crash: "Droplets?"

Wyatt: "Splash?"

Aku: "How about: JUST RACE!"

Coco: "Eh, we'll think of one later."

Crash: "Yeah we'll- READYSETGO!"

Crash dashes off & Wyatt flies off along with him, leaving both of the girls in the dust.

Coco & Jade: "HEY!"

The boys & girls both get on the jet-skis & immediately rush off the sand & into the water. Laughter & splashing occurs amongst the guys & gals, & Aku Aku & Crunch watch from the shore.

Crunch: "Looks like we got ourselves an expanded family 'ere, huh?"

Aku: "Yes, indeed. & I would not be surprised if it got even bigger one day…"

As Crash races across the water on the jet-ski with Wyatt in the back, he looks at the audience & winks. Have a great vacation, you crazy marsupial!

THE END-

WAIT, THERE'S MORE

"Yes, enjoy your little vacation, you feeble-furred fool. Cortex may be put away, but rest assured, I will make sure the world with be without the hero it has today & tomorrow, for it's only a matter of time…

only, a matter of, time."

Okay, NOW it's The End!
