This took way too long to finish, and I'm terribly sorry.

Merry Christmas again Mel! I love your face, beautiful.

Disclaimer: David Tennant belongs to David Tennant.

"David! David!" thousands of voices seemed to be screaming for his attention, but he didn't respond. Head down, sunglasses perched on the bridge of his nose, David Tennant (now completely aware of his true identity) boarded the plane.

"I thought you said there wasn't going to be press," David snapped at his agent.

"I said no press. Paparazzi show up no matter what you say," the agent shrugged. David huffed and leaned back in his seat. Tomorrow they would be in England, and Mel would be that much farther away. His agent, George, leaned forward in his chair. "David, what's wrong? You haven't been the same since you showed up at that podunk police station."

"It's really nothing." It's far from nothing. I'm a love with a girl that I'm probably never going to see again and there is little to nothing I can do about it. I don't even know if she feels the same way.

"It's something, and I will find out what it is," George declared. "I can't have my star actor getting depressed."

"There are other stars more twinkly than myself," David half-laughed. "I'm sure you could find another."

"But you're a dream to work with, trust me. I don't want another," George determined, effectively ending their conversation.

"I'm going to miss you, David," Mel smiled, her eyes tracing the cracks in the pavement. David hugged her tightly.

"Oh, Mel, you brilliant girl, I'm going to miss you too. Do you want to exchange numbers?" he asked, looking down at her orange curls.

"No, that would make it harder. We should just have a clean break," Mel nodded. She was determined not to cry, but she was about to fail miserably.

"Goodbye, darling girl," David hugged her again, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"Goodbye, David, you absolutely wonderful man," Mel replied, silent tears sliding down her cheeks to land in the tweed of David's jacket.

She watched him walk into the police station and out of her life.

When they landed back in London, David went straight to his flat and didn't leave again for two weeks, baffling the media and all of his fans with his less-than-Tennant mood. Mel, back in America, was opening a piece of mail that would change her life forever.

TWO WEEKS LATER

"David, get in here," the director nearly screamed. "I'm trying to shoot a scene."

"I'm sorry! I had to get some makeup fixed," David apologized, hands up and open. His constant apologizing and dashing around was getting on the director's nerves.

"If you weren't so bloody brilliant on camera, Tennant, I'd have fired you long before this shot," the director mumbled. David merely nodded and took his mark. "Alright, we're shooting this scene a bit differently."

"How differently?" David asked, raising an eyebrow.

"In order to get the full effect of your reaction, you have never met the actress who is playing your counterpart. You're at a party, and you see her from across the room. Try to look dumbstruck, please."

"I shall do my best," David nodded. The extras began mumbling their various lines about how wonderful the party was, the main actors were in their places, and the director shouted for the tape to roll.

The door on the opposite side of the room opened, and a woman slipped through. Her deep green dress balanced her tightly curled orange-red hair and her deep red lips. Emeralds hung from her ears and draped across her neck. When she looked up and smiled, David had to do a lot of acting.

"My dear, how have we never met before? I thought I knew all of London society," David spoke, his voice low. The girl before him looked up, smirking slightly.

"Because I'm not from London. I just got in from America today and I'm here to make it in the movies," she announced.

"Isn't California where you should be, then?" David's character asked. The young woman smiled again, this time fluttering her lashes alluringly.

"Darling, California is for amateurs."

"CUT! PERFECT!" the director nearly screamed. "FIVE MINUTES!"

"Mel!" David cried, breaking character instantly and pulling the girl up into his arms.

"David! Oh how I missed you. I tried to contact your agent, but after hearing my story, he said it would be best not to tell you for the purpose of shooting this scene specifically."

"What do you me-GEORGE GOT YOU THE PART!?" David shrieked.

"Yes! He knew something was wrong with you, so when I found his contact information, he said he knew the perfect way to fix everything," Mel nearly stumbled over her words in her excitement.

"I couldn't be happier now that you're here with me again," David grinned.

"There's no place like London," Mel joked. David spun her around once more.

"I know that there is a better time and place for this, but I really can't wait a second longer. I'm afraid that if I do, you'll disappear again," David blurted, dropping to one knee, "I love you more than I ever thought possible. Mel, will you marry me?"

"Oh David, there really couldn't be a better time or place. You're wonderful; of course I'll marry you! I want to spend every minute of my life with you! I love you!"

A few months later they were married in grand fashion, and spent their honeymoon travelling Europe after the production of their movie was finished. David and Mel Tennant both lived happy, wonderful lives together.
