Hello everyone.

I know it's been quite some time since I wrote for this story, and I am truly sorry, but with this I am going to explain myself and the rest of the story and hopefully bring some closure to everything. (trigger warning for mention of depression, disordered eating, and suicide)

Firstly I'd like to say thank you so much for all the interest in my story I started all that time ago. I began writing it while on vacation over break way back when and I loved every second of it. I wrote for hours and hours every day, and ideas just kept flooding in. I had the script open in one tab and my word document open on another so I could see how the characters translated into text. I also did it to keep to the story as much as possible.

As much as I would have loved to finish this story, the year was a rough one for me. I struggled mentally and emotionally, I was on the verge of an eating disorder, and I didn't think I would make it through the year because I lost all my friends and was alone. But here I am today, attending college on scholarship for the sport I love.

And here is where I would like to apologize. I see everyone's messages and comments, but it's just been too long since I've began this to truly finish it. However, NorthernMage sent me a message today that made me decide I needed to do this. So I am going to explain the rest of the story as best as I can (remember it's been over two years since I had the idea.)

So I left you all with Jack waking up and being controlled by Pitch. The Guardians are weak and all hope seems lost, but Jamie still believes. He realizes that once he believed in Jack Frost, he could see him. That gives him the idea to get his friends (much like the movie.) However, Jack is now twice as powerful; his powers have combined with Pitch's. While he can still think and react on his own, his overall intensions are under Pitch's control. Now instead of fighting just Pitch and his Nightmares, the Guardians (minus Sandy) had to fight a Dark Jack as well.

The group decides to split up. Though still weak, the goal is to spread out and split Pitch's powers thin. Bunny and Jamie break off to head to gather friends while Tooth goes one way and North goes the other. Pitch orders Jack to follow the kid and "put the last light out."

Jamie and Bunny make it to the first house and try to wake up his friend by throwing pebbles at the window. Before they can get the friend's attention, Jack surrounds them in a wall of icy black sand (much like what happened in the snow when Pitch found Jack.) Jack lands and slowly walks towards them, talking about "snuffing the last light" and what not. Jamie and Bunny are backed against the wall. Bunny gets infront of Jamie and tries to protect him, only to be shot with dark ice and knocked out.

It all seems lost, but Jamie's only shot is to try to talk to Jack. He says how he came to see Jack, how he now believes. This may have touched the old Jack, but Pitch's words are heard in his head. "See? We made him believe. Imagine when they all believe." Black sand begins to snake towards Jamie; he has nowhere to run. He begins pleading with Jack, trying to reason with him that the other Guardians need him, the world needs him. The sand begins to wrap around Jamie's ankle, up his torso, and completely encases him. Jack relaxes, and Pitch's laugh can be suddenly heard echoing through the silent city.

Suddenly, the sand casing around Jamie begins to shift and glow, brighter and brighter until it explodes into a golden light. Sandy emerges from the glow, cradling an unconscious Jamie in his arms. Both Pitch and Jack are too surprised to do anything immediately, but Pitch jumps into action to try and salvage his plan. Jack also begins and attack on Sandy, who deflects his blows with a growing collection of dream sand. Pitch leaves the other Guardians be to deal with Sandy, giving them the opportunity to wake up children and gain power back.

Pitch tries to strike Sandy down again and again, having Jack try to do the same, but Sandy easily takes them both. Soon all of Pitch's sand is gone—all but what is controlling Jack. Sandy begins to pull the dark sand out of Jack, and soon the teen is laying on the ground, also unconscious. Pitch has nowhere to go, he tries to run away, but the other North and Tooth return with a group of children just as Jamie wakes up. The Guardians are strong again.

The Guardians get rid of Pitch and come to Jack's aid. Bunny is also conscious and finds the group. Jack isn't moving and he still has major injuries. Bunny begs for forgiveness and pleads for Jack to wake up "C'mon Jack, I know you can. You gotta wake up", but he doesn't. Not until Jamie whispers "I believe in you"

Jack's eyes flutter open and he sucks in a big breath of air, like when he emerged from the pond all those years ago. He doesn't remember what happened after he was struck, but the group buries him in a hug.

Then he meets Jamie. They share a moment before Jamie takes Jack's hand to introduce him to his friends.

With children believing in the Guardians again and Jack now having believers of his own, they can return to their duties as Guardians.

I know it's probably nothing anyone wanted or expected from an update, and again I am sorry. Had I written this out it probably would have been just under twenty chapters (since I jump perspectives so much.)

But anyway, I hope this brings some closure to everyone, and thank you so much for following and reading and showing interest. And thank you for understanding, I am truly sorry.
