Hi, this is bs13, speaking out about this story. Florairmatylee and I have decided that this story is horribly written; we focus too much on relationships and following movie storylines, not on a plot. (Not to mention the characters are too OOC for our liking)

So, we have decided to rewrite this story. This story will remain up until we rewrite the first chapter, and that's in the works right now, but we will take this story down when the first chapter is done. Right now we would like to thank every person who is following this story, has added it to their favorites, and especially to those who reviewed. You all have made writing this story fun, and so we're hoping we can make the story better for you guys by rewriting it. I hope you'll all continue to read this story when we post it again, and hopefully you'll all enjoy it better...if you could even enjoy it before.

So for this not to be just an author's note, here is a sneak peek for the first chapter:

"MULAAAAAAAN!"

As her name is yelled loudly, Fa Mulan winces at the eardrum-busting shriek before she turns around to face the only person who could ever turn saying a name into something lethal for one's ears: her best friend, Ariel.

"Someday you're going to make me deaf, you know," says Mulan as she falls in step beside Ariel.

"Whatever," is Ariel's scornful response. "Listen, I have something huge to tell you."

"Shoot," Mulan says simply as she rearranges her backpack's straps more surely over her shoulders.

"Remember that gym I was going to over the summer? You know, the one that has a pool?"

"Uh-huh."

"Well...I met a guy." Ariel grins stupidly as they enter the school's main building.

"Okay...and?" Mulan prompts, raising her voice slightly as more people talking come around them.

"And he's the most gorgeous guy I've ever seen," Ariel says dreamily, acting as though she's lovestruck.

"What's his name?" Mulan asks calmly.

"Um...I don't know," Ariel admits sheepishly, and her hand toys with the end of her hair nervously. "I didn't ask."

"Oh," Mulan says understandingly, and just as they reach Ariel's locker- which they always go to before Mulan's locker- Ariel bursts out into a confession that Mulan didn't even pressure her into.

"Okay, okay, I never even met the guy," Ariel blurts. "I just watched him. From behind a row of lockers. Like, every day."

"Wait...what?" Mulan falters. "That was your summer? Stalking some guy?"

"Hey!" Ariel's cheeks flush pink. "I wouldn't call it stalking..."

"Ariel, you know your dad doesn't even want you near boys, let alone stalking them..."

"I said I was not stalking him!" Ariel defends herself. "I was just checking out a hot guy. What's wrong with that?"

"Sure, checking out a guy from behind a row of lockers every day totally counts as merely checking him out."

"What would you have done?" Ariel whines childishly. "I didn't want him to see me, okay? Come on, I didn't tell you so you could reprimand me for it. I told you because you're my best friend, and therefore, you need to offer me advice about this guy!"

"Well, I can try." Mulan pauses. "Um...where exactly do you want to go with this guy?"

"I don't know," Ariel says defensively. "I just think he's cute, and I'd like to start with his name, at least."

"Okay...when you were stalking him, did he talk to certain people or anything?"

"When I wasn't stalking him, I found out his dad owns the gym. The guy I saw usually stops to talk to some other old guy there, though, not his dad, and his dad usually isn't there," Ariel lists readily.

"If he's the owner's son, then you can just ask around for him, or casually mention him to someone who goes there, or someone who knows him, or that old guy you mentioned. Or you can go and talk to him yourself, of course. That would probably be the best thing to do."

"No way am I going to talk to him myself," Ariel says immediately. "I'll do what you suggested: ask around."

"If that's what you want." Mulan shrugs. "Hey, let's head to my locker now."

"Okay." Ariel gathers her stuff, and the two set off. "So, I never asked. How was your summer?"

"Eh, it was okay." Mulan shrugs again. "There wasn't anything special about it. My grandma moved in with us, though."

"I love your grandma. She's hilarious." Ariel grins. "But seriously? Nothing?"

"Pretty much," Mulan says as they reach her own locker. "But that was cool with me. I got to draw a lot."

"That's good," Ariel says absentmindedly. As Mulan turns to open her own locker, expertly twisting her combination to get her required books for her first few periods, she hears a very audible gasp that comes from none other than Ariel.

"What is it?" Mulan asks tiredly, but when she turns to see what Ariel is doing, Ariel clamps a hand over Mulan's mouth.

"Shhh," Ariel whispers urgently, and she twists her head to gesture in one direction. "Look."

Mulan looks to where Ariel is gesturing. Across the hall is a raven haired boy, talking to a tall boy that Mulan recognizes as Hercules, though she doesn't know who the other boy is. Mulan doesn't understand what Ariel is finding gasp-worthy, but before she can ask, Ariel speaks.

"Do you see?!" Ariel whisper-cries. "That's him!"

"The guy you were stalking was Hercules?"

"No, no, the other one...and I was not stalking him, for the millionth-"

"Great, then you can go over there and ask for his name," Mulan interrupts.

"Are you insane?! I can't do that!" Ariel panics. "He's going to think I'm crazy!"

"Don't worry, I think plenty of people already find you crazy."

"I just can't talk to him, that's all," Ariel says defensively, ignoring Mulan's comment. "I go to the gym, and he practically owns it. It's like we're from two different worlds...I bet he wouldn't even be interested in me."

"Hey, don't say that," Mulan scolds. "He'd be lucky to have you."

"Thanks, but you're my best friend, and you're supposed to say that." Ariel sighs glumly. "It doesn't count."

"I'm your best friend, but you forget that I don't lie to you," Mulan prompts. "C'mon, what would it hurt for you to go over there and talk to him? Class will start any minute, so if you need to hurry out, you can use that as an excuse."

"No," says Ariel after a few seconds. "I just...I'd rather wait and find out from someone else."

Mulan shrugs. "Well, have it your way."

Mulan then turns to put her bag and stuff she doesn't need into her locker, only grabbing a few select books. When she closes the locker door, she sees Ariel is watching her creepily, with a sheepish smile on her face that means she has just had an idea.

"Mulaaaan..." Ariel's voice indicates she's about to ask for a huge favor.

"I don't trust your voice," Mulan says bluntly as she eyes Ariel suspiciously. "What are you planning?"

"He has the locker right across from yours," Ariel speaks quietly and quickly, just so Mulan can hear. "It would mean the world to me if you maybe just got to know him a little better...maybe you can get his name...and his class schedule...and his phone number..."

"Oh, definitely. I'll also take a blood sample, his social security number, and his first newborn child."

"I'm serious," Ariel begs. "You know I'm shy!"

"You forget that I am, too!"

"Please do this for me. You'd be my wingman!" Ariel pleads further.

"Nope, not going to happen."

"Please." Ariel teasingly bats her eyelashes in Mulan's direction. "If you do this, I'll...I'll...I don't know what I'll do, but I'll make sure it's big and important, and just for you! Come on, just do this one little thing for me!"

"You know I'm not good with guys," Mulan protests, but she softens at Ariel's desperation.

"But you're better than me," Ariel insists. "You get along so well with guys."

"When they're my friends, yeah."

"You can make a new friend in him. Pleaseeeeee?"

"...I fucking hate you. You know that, right?"

"Thank you!" Ariel throws her arms around Mulan's neck. "You won't regret it!"

"I doubt that," Mulan mutters under her breath, but Ariel pretends not to notice.

It's not much, but then again, it's just a sneak peek. So, I guess this is good bye for now, everyone, and we'll get this story up again soon!
