Woohoo! First Fanfiction Birthday present of the year! (Details on my profile if you want one for your birthday.)

This was done for alwaysapples-cherries. Happy Birthday!

Prompt was nightmares.

Also, this is my first Doctor Who fanfiction so I apologize if there are any weird things.

Rose was so exhausted that she fell asleep soon after her head hit the pillow, but it didn't take long for a nightmare to wake her back up.

She was still so tired, but she was afraid of having more nightmares if she went to sleep again so she made her way through the endless hallways of the TARDIS until she finally found herself in the library. She didn't fancy a dip in the swimming pool or to settle down with a book, but there was a very comfortable couch and a TV that was calling her name.

Watching TV on the TARDIS was interesting, to say the least. One channel could be showing an old show from the 1980's and the next could be showing something from the year 10,000 but whatever it decided to land on today would hopefully distract her for a little while.

And it did. Even though the TARDIS would translate what they were saying, Rose still had no clue what was going on in this obviously alien and futuristic show. She was so focused on the show that she didn't even hear the Doctor come in until he flopped down on the couch next to her, looking just as tired as she was, though he would never admit it.

They sat in silence, watching the ridiculous show, and Rose didn't bother questioning why he was up even though she knew he had gone to bed to get some sleep after their long day and even for him that wouldn't have been enough sleep.

It was possible that he was up for the same reason she was, after all, it was a pretty close call today. If the hole to the void hadn't snapped shut when it did, she would have been sucked in.

The show that they were watching ended and another one came on, this one making more sense than the last one so Rose lost interest in it and slowly started leaning towards the Doctor until his arm slipped around her shoulders and pulled her right up next to him so that she was snuggled into his side.

Feeling warm and safe, it didn't take her long to slip into a peaceful sleep as the Doctor watched the new show for only a little while longer before he fell asleep as well, content that she was safe in his arms.

Hours later, a woman in a wedding dress will appear in the console room and set off enough alarms to jolt them both awake and they will then take off running head first into their next adventure but neither of them will be forgetting the night they slept cuddled up together on the library couch.
