Masaru stood in front of the largest window in the apartment that he had gotten the moment he was informed that his enemy, Artemisia, was returning to New York to help finish her infuriating little siblings' training in ninjutsu. Outside, he watched the people scramble mindlessly in the darkness of night, trying to find shelter from the dangerous storm that would be coming soon. The reporter advised all citizens to stay indoors and to keep away from the windows, but masaru wanted to watch the destruction, he wasn't afraid, Japan had had hurricanes that killed hundreds of people. He remembered the horror it brung to so many families.

Families... The man thought, and he unconsciously touched the ugly scar that ran down his face, Masaru sighed, longing for vengeance.

The breeze on the streets started to howl with fury, and many people lost their belongings in the sudden gust of wind. An evil smirk graced his hideous features as the men and women pursued their possessions uselessly. Then hail fell upon them harshly, setting off car alarms and forcing the people to rush inside.

He thought the scene as comical and laughed wickedly, sending chills through the already bitterly cold air. Masaru liked the rawness, it felt good to watch the few visitors he had shiver, but not ask him to turn the heat up, thinking it would be rude to. It was these little things he did that gave him temporary pleasure, it was enough to ease the need to punish Artemisia for a quick moment. The rest of the days he'd be plotting the perfect way to end the turtles, starting with Artemisia.

Again, he thought of the word he hated so much, families...

He allowed himself to say it allowed, "Families..." It rolled off of his tongue with a disgusted tone, and he grimaced.

It was then, he saw a shadow on the roof across the street. He squinted, watching the area more closely. Then he saw it again, and then a flash of red and then yellow following the red, "This isn't possible." he whispered to himself, "There's no way..."

Then he saw a shaded figure emerge from the darkest shadow, and another one trail it. He recognized the shapes as two of the creatures he was hunting, and gave a twisted smile. Masaru quickly hid behind part of a curtain in case either of them saw the man watching them. Soon, he spotted Artemisia's long black hair being pulled in the blowing wind. The other turtle, her brother, was waving his arms angrily. He saw her yelling something at him only seconds later. Were they fighting?

Intrigued, Masaru grabbed his black trench coat and gray hat as he ran out his door. In his apartment, he had all of the lights turned off, so he was blissfully unaware that the lights were flickering ominously in the hall, he was careful to keep his face hidden from the security cameras still, just to be on the safe side. He rushed down the spiral staircase, deciding the elevator would take too much of his precious time. He struggled to put on his coat as he raced, but when he finally got it on, he quickly put on his hat.

He was about to exit the building, but the doorman stopped him, "Sir, you shouldn't go out there, it's dangerous..." He was still a boy, with a childish face and thick blonde hair.

"Please..." Masaru begged, "My wife, she-she is having our first child! I have to get to the hospital!" It was a good excuse in his opinion, he did his best to sound desperate.

The boy allowed him through, almost automatically.

Masaru pushed past him and ran outside, he was immediately pelted with hail. He stuck to the shadows and he actually heard the two arguing turtles' voices being carried in the wind.

"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!?"

He saw Artemisia reach for her sibling, but he jerked away, "RAPH! YOU KNOW WHY!" she yelled back at him.

Raphael barked at her, "IT WAS AN ACCIDENT! I DIDN'T MEAN TO!"

Masaru thought he might have seen Artemisia crying, but it might've just been the hail, "RAPHAEL, YOU BROKE HIS ARM! BUT -"

"I KNOW!" He yelled at her, "I WAS ANGRY WITH HIM! I ADMIT IT! I NEED TO THINK! LEAVE ME ALONE!"

She did grab him while he wasn't looking, "I UNDERSTAND, REALLY I DO! AND I'LL LEAVE YOU ALONE ONCE YOU'VE APOLOGIZED TO MICHELANGELO! HE THINKS YOU HATE HIM! RAPHAEL I KNOW HOW IT FEELS WHEN YOU'VE HURT SOMEONE YOU LOVE! BUT YOU HAVE TO FACE MIKEY!"

Masaru thought she was only yelling to hear herself. The wind was quickly picking up and he had almost lost his hat already.

Her brother was silent, then Artemisia said, "JUST TELL MIKEY YOU LOVE HIM RAPH! THATS ALL OUR BROTHER NEEDS! THEN YOU CAN BE ALONE!"

he turned to her, "FINE!" Raphael spat,"LET'S JUST GET THIS OVER WITH!"

Then Masaru's enemies faded into the shadows once again.

Artemisia and Raphael walked into the lair, and instantly heard Mikey's laugh.

"See? He's laughing. Michelangelo is fine." Raph said, turning around to go back outside.

Art grabbed him by the shell, "Oh no you don't!" and she dragged him to Donnie's lab, where the others were at.

Mikey was sitting on a large table with an orange cast on his arm, and everybody was gathered around, chuckling as Mikey laughed hysterically.

She walked in first, "I found 'em." she announced, and the air suddenly seemed intense.

They all looked at Raph, who seemed haunted with regret.

"Uh... R-Raph? I...Um... " Mikey stuttered, scratching the back of his head with his good hand.

Raphael sat down in an empty seat near Leo, "Don't apologize, Mikey. I'm the one who's sorry. I shouldn't have lost my temper so quickly..."

Artemisia stepped up behind him, then kicked the bottom of his chair, "Ow!" he jumped, then sat back down saying, "And I l-love you..."

Michelangelo gave Raph his signature smile, "Aw, Raph, I love you too!" He hesitated a second before saying, "But I can't accept your apology yet..."

Everybody looked at Mikey with surprised expressions.

"I can't forgive you until you and Arty sign this thing!" he stated, as if it were obvious. He gave a marker to Raph and held out his broken arm, "Everyone else has already signed it."

Raph took the marker and smirked as he signed his brother's cast, he thought, Mikey is so forgiving... Then he wrote Love you bro.

Once Raph was done Art snatched the marker, she drew a pizza slice and wrote her name carefully using the English alphabet. After speaking and writing in Japanese, she nearly forgot how to spell out her own name in English.

"Now I forgive you Raphie..." Mikey smiled.

Raph didn't have a choice but to smile back, but when Master Splinter called him out of the room, his awkward grin became nearly a scowl.

The lab became silent, as if they were trying to hear Raph's punishment for breaking his younger brother's right arm. Then all of the sudden, the room became chilled and a tense wave of ice passed through the turtles. The siblings glanced at each other nervously.

"Something isn't right." Leo said, before Artemisia turned around and drew a blade as she inspected the area.

Leonardo and Donatello stood up immediately, Mikey tried to get up, but Donnie just pushed him back down, "No Mikey." he said firmly. Michelangelo sat stiffly, high on alet from his sister's hasty movements.

"What's wrong?" Leo demanded, ready to unsheath his own sword.

Artemisia knelt down and looked under the door, nothing. She stood back up and walked around the room anxiously, "He- He followed us... but how?"

"Artemisia, what are you talking about?" Donatello asked skittishly.

She looked at him, then her gaze went to Mikey, "...Masaru." she finally whispered.

The air was getting thicker, and harder to breathe in, "Guys..." Mikey whimpered, "Please tell me she's just being paranoid."

*FLASHBACK*

A four-year old girl with large dark eyes and thick black hair skipped down a side-walk, her tall father only a few paces behind her smiled warmly as he watched his child.

"Don't go too far ahead, dear." He reminded her.

The small girl turned around, "I won't Daddy!" She replied, "I'll wait for you."

Once the man caught up with his daughter he strolled with a big hand on her tiny shoulder, " You do remember what responsibilities will come with getting a pet, don't you, my daughter?"

She straightened and replied using her father's first language, Japanese, "Hai, chichi."

"Good." He responded.

"Shh, I think she's waking up." a voice said quietly.

Artemisia was automatically alert when she felt the coolness of metal shackles around her wrists and anckles, she looked everywhere, all she saw was three of her brothers, Leo, Raph, and Donnie, who were all chained to a wall as she was, but she couldn't see Mikey or her father, "What happened? Where's Mikey and Mast- OW!" She cringed and looked down. Blood?

"We were hoping you would know." Answered Leonardo weakly.

Then the large door opened with a large metal man standing in the doorway and and another man standing behind him.

"SH-SHREDDER?!" Artemisia cried.

Shredder walked in, then the man following him stood at his side, "I told you, Master..." He said, his voice made Art flinch unwillingly.

"Hmph... You were right after all, Masaru. The daughter has returned..." Shredder replied.
