A/N: So we have a winner!

Keep reading, I'll see you at the bottom.

I own nothing. At all.

For the guest reviewer who was confused on how Bella can just forget her love and feelings for Damon, she doesn't know they exist yet.

Yet.

I felt like my eyes were shrunken in by the time Elena came in after a lesson with Grams. She plopped down on the bed and threw herself backward, sprawling out.

"I like Lexi," she commented, "she's so funny and has so many stories about Stefan, and it makes me see him in a new light."

"Yeah, well she might not live to see another day if I don't figure out how to save her," I growled, slamming the book shut.

"What are you talking about?" she asked sitting up.

"I had a vision of Lexi getting vervained and then staked." I sighed, pushing the book to the end of the bed.

"Show me," she said as she grabbed my hands and I was pulled back into the vision

It looked like the same scene but from a different angle. Damon sauntered in with the two officers I saw in my previous premonition, flanked on either side of him. He pointed at Lexi and then they took off after her.

Elena gasped and yanked her hands from mine. She rubbed her chest and took another deep breath. "So what do we do to stop Damon?"

"I'm not sure. I don't see any sort of solution," I sighed, flopped back in my bed, and closed my eyes. "If you think of anything let me know."

"It's too bad freezing time isn't part of our extensive list of powers." She commented after a beat.

My eyes opened wide and I shot up from the bed. "THATS IT!"

I grabbed the book from where I shoved it earlier. "Elena you're a genius. I can't believe I didn't think about it!"

"Is that something we can do?" She asked leaning over my shoulder.

"Yeah! I've done it before." I flipped through the book "When I was coming back from Forks."

"Why?"

"Victoria had caught up to me. I used it to get away to hide in a janitor's closet," I stopped at the page I was looking for. "Here we go."

"What is this?" Elena asked confused.

"Something I hope works."

The day of our shared birthday, Elena and I were surprised with a surprise brunch party. Caroline and Bonnie, with the help of Grams, made quiches, pancakes and much more. We sat around the table, chatting about our plans for later that night. Dad came in and dropped a messily wrapped gift in front of me and Elena, telling us he couldn't make it to the Grill because he had to work.

"I promise it isn't another camera." he laughed.

I tore the paper off, pulled the box lid off, and gently removed the tissue paper. Under it laid a beautiful and oddly shaped pendant. I grabbed the pendant and examined it. It looked familiar. I had seen it before somewhere.

"It's a triquetra," Grams explained "it's a symbol of balance and unity. Charlie these are beautiful! Where did you find them?"

"I asked your friends out in San Francisco to send them out to us since the shop didn't ship out."

"Oh, how wonderful!" she smiled.

"Well, I have to head out. Happy Birthday, girls." He said gruffly. We said our goodbyes, and he left.

"Alright girls, I have to head out as well. I will see you tonight." Grams said gathering our plates.

"You're coming tonight?" Elena asked, her eyes darting to me with worry.

"Of course I'm coming! I can't miss the first birthday my granddaughters are having together can I?" Grams smiled

Elena's eyebrows dipped in the middle slightly, her facial features slowly etching in worry. I covered her hand with my own to placate

"It'll be ok," I reassured her through our psychic link "if anything it will help us in the long run if she's there."

She relaxed a little bit and gave me a small nod.

"Sounds like a good plan Ms. Swan!" Caroline beamed "I need to get going as well, I want everything to be perfect."

"Like it won't already be the most over the top party anyway." Bonnie teased.

"It's not every day two of your best friends have the same birthday." Caroline defended.

"I'll go with you." Bonnie conceded "Drop me at my Grams after?"

Caroline nodded and they took off, leaving me and Elena to our own devices. Together we tackled the dishes and talked about the upcoming festivities and our plan to save Lexi.

"We have to be fast and switch the syringes." I pressed. "Lexi doesn't deserve what Damon's planning."

"Maybe we should make her a Lapis Lazuli." Elena suggested, "So it isn't that obvious that she's hiding anything."

I nodded my head. "That's a good idea. Let's get through tonight and we'll take a look a the book."

"Well, I'm gonna head home and meet up with Jeremy. We're gonna head over to the cemetery and visit for a bit," she said quietly.

"Ok. I'll probably catch up on some sleep. There was a ninja that kept elbowing me in the back last night." I joked.

"Well, maybe you should keep the conversations at night to a minimum" she clapped back.

I nudged her with my shoulder "Get out of here, I'll finish this."

Elena grabbed her shoes and bag and left.

And then there was one. I was too wired to sleep, so I hurried up the stairs to my bathroom. I lit the candles I had around the bathroom with a flick of my wrist, plugged the tub and filled it. I poured in a capful of soap and threw in some oils and a bath bomb. I started to peel off my pajamas when my phone started to ring. With a huff, I grabbed my robe and wrapped it tightly around me. I grabbed my phone off the nightstand and looked at the screen.

It was Damon.

I declined the call and went back to my bathroom. I turned off the water and slipped in. Sighing I sunk deeper and let the tension roll off my shoulders. The phone buzzed again and I closed my eyes tighter, but it kept buzzing. I let out a growl and picked up my phone.

"Leave me alone Damon... I don't want to talk to you." I seethed.

"Well, it's a good thing I'm not Damon then." Noah chuckled.

I blushed. "Hey... I'm so sorry."

"It's alright." I could hear his smile. "What are your plans for the day?"

"Caroline, Bonnie, and Grams made brunch and now I'm soaking in the tub." I rattled "Why do you ask?"

"Well, I was hoping to take you out before the party, but if you have other plans I totally understand."

"Sounds like a plan but we have to be back before the party," I grinned "Caroline wants to play Bella Barbie. Give me at least an hour to finish my bath and get ready."

"Great! I'll see you in an hour then." He exclaimed "Oh and Bella?"

"Yeah?" I chirped.

"Happy birthday."

I finished the bath and hurriedly dressed in a pair of dark washed jeans, and an oatmeal colored top that fell off my shoulders. My hair was pulled into a tight ponytail at the middle of my skull, and the makeup I slapped on my face was natural. I skipped down the stairs to search for my sandals. I skidded to a stop when I saw Damon laying on the couch, feet propped up on the arm of it.

"Hey Birthday Girl," he grinned as he rolled into a sitting position. "I have a present for you."

I ignored him and slid into my shoes. My anger slowly getting me heated from within. I could hear him saunter up behind me.

"C'mon Bella," his hand laid on my shoulder "I'm trying to apologize here."

That pushed me over the edge. I spun around and pushed him away from me. "I don't want an apology, Damon. I trusted you and you took advantage of that!"

"I trusted you too! You vervained me!" he spat, "I thought you were better than that."

"Well then you can't exactly blame me then, can you?" I seethed "you were about to kill one of my best friends-"

"I'M your best friend. Besides Blondie had it coming."

"I'm not going to argue with you. Please just go." I sighed in defeat.

"Please Bella, give me another chance." he pleaded.

"You think you can just waltz in here and beg for my forgiveness?" I felt the anger starting to bubble over. "I can't believe you think I could just forgive you after what you did to me and what you're going to do to Lexi!"

"What am I going to do to Lexi?" he scoffed.

I cringed "Just go Damon."

"No," he grabbed my arm and spun me around "What am I going to do to Lexi? What did you see?"

"What am I going to do to Lexi? What did you see?"

"Leave me alone Damon!" I yanked my arm out of his grip "You need to leave."

He let out a growl, yanked open the door, and slammed it on his way out. I flinched and sank against the wall. My head fell into my hands and tears dripped onto the hardwood in the foyer. ats what it felt like.

They weren't out of sadness...well maybe a little bit but more of frustration. I wanted to forgive him but it was hard when the universe was against us. That's what it felt like anyway.

The timid knock at the door pulled me out of my pity party. I stood up, wiped the tears from my face. I pulled myself together and opened the door.

I was met with Noahs beaming smile. He pulled out a beautiful fresh bouquet of daisies, tulips, and roses

"Happy Birthday Bella." he leaned over and kissed my cheek.

I took the flowers from him and pressed my face into them. The scent of them enveloping my senses. "Thank you! Let me get these in some water and then we can go."

I scurried to the kitchen and reached for the crystal vase that Grams saved for special occasions.

"Need a hand short stack?" he teased reaching up with ease. His hand rested on my hip, and my back rested on his chest. The sparks I felt were intense. They were more intense than the ones I had with Edward.

I turned around so we were face to face. His eyes were heavily lidded, and he reached out and cupped my cheek.

"Thank you," I whispered.

"You're welcome." his voice husky

He leaned in and I turned my face towards his...
