Bruce sat at the bat-computer putting pictures and case files in the recent case he was working on. The penguin was starting to cause chaos in the underground again. He sighed and ran a hand over his hair, for once not in the uniform.

He turned his head when he heard the elevator start up; expecting to see Alfred come out he turned back to the screen and continued to type. As soon as the door opened he answered an unspoken question, "No Alfred I am sure I don't want to take a break. The penguin doesn't take a break in this and neither will I."

"Good to know, Bruce but I'm not Alfred."

Bruce looked up from the computer at that and was surprised to see Richard standing there, completely suited up in his Robin uniform. His heart sank knowing this meant his little boy wasn't going to stay with him any longer. He turned away and continued to type, no really paying attention to the words.

"When do you leave?" The older man choked out.

"Soon...I will come back though. I'm a phone call away," Dick sighed. His shifted awkwardly; staring at the ground. He couldn't leave the team when they had only just started. They needed a leader, he didn't want to leave his friends hanging.

"You aren't going to tell them who you are...are you?"

"No, if I tell them they will only treat me like I am fragile and broken. I do intend to tell them, later down the road though."

Bruce nodded and stopped typing up the paragraph and got up from his seat making his way over to him. "Telling them means that you have to trust them completely. It may take years," he placed his hand on the boy's shoulder. "Make sure they are ready to carry the secret."

Robin looked up at him through the mask, "I know the task at hand and I am ready to except it." With one last move as Dick Grayson he hugged his adopted father for the last time till they met again.

Bruce hugged him close, not wanting to let go of his small child but knowing it was time to let this little robin fly. The hug ended and Batman and Robin split for the second time. Robin ran over to motorcycle, spring a cartwheel and then a flip. He landed on it and cast a glance back at Bruce.

Alfred stood next to Bruce and they both gave a small wave as the boy wonder raced off towards Jump City, leaving Gotham.

Years later

Robin held onto the case that he had just won back. His friends stood around him with mild curiosity to what was inside and why Red X would help get it back. He carefully unlocked it, after the question was asked. They had proved that they could be trusted.

Inside was an old poster for the Flying Grayson's acrobatic act, files from the first cases he had solved with Bruce, the adoption papers, the news paper arrivals and pictures from day one of his life to recently with the team.

"Dude...what is all this?" Beast Boy looked at all the stuff curiously.

Raven, having seen into his brain, knew what this was and sighed. She had been right, "it's your life. You are finally telling us."

Robin looked up at them and nodded, no one was around in this middle of no where so there was no danger. He took off his mask that they had thought at some points was surgically attracted. Blue eyes stared back at them, "Hello. I'm Dick Grayson."

Authors Note: and this is the end. I finally finished it and I am very happy about that. I hope that this short little ending is good. I typed it out one phone so I hope it doesn't look that crappy.
