Chapter Five

12 Grimmauld Place

Lily's felt heavy with all the information that that over filled the key events for her son's dramatic life. Her and James had been sitting down at the long family table that was placed in the middle of the narrow kitchen. The table often held meetings on strenuous and serious topics so it almost seemed fitting that they should also be having the some experience as many others have had. The information had come at her continuously and it seemed like a never ending tale of misery for her poor son. She had always known that her life won't turn out like the dream she used to play out with her sister when she was little. She had done well to find the love of her life and to have a living son but apart from that her life seemed to come from a sinister a twisted placed, like someone was pulling the strings in the very places that hurt her the most.

When they had finished Lily barely remembered to breathe. She took a moment to digest the information and try to stop the tears from rolling down her cheeks. James thankfully spoke so that she didn't have to.

"Umm... I ... Uhhh... He's okay though right, I mean no lasting emotional or physical damage right?"

"Prongs." Sirius spoke sincerely. "He is the offspring of James Charles Potter and Lily Marie Evans, two of the strongest people I know, off course he is fine."

"I am going to kill Wormtail." James said as he looked at Remus and Sirius. "I am going to kill him that traitorous, back-stabbing, slimy weasel. How could he do this to us? We where his friends, we did so much for him he wouldn't have even made it too N.E.W.T level if it wasn't for us."

Sirius looked as if some flame had been reignited in his eyes, a passion that he dimmed over the years springing back to life as he saw the same fire in the eyes of his best friend. He leaned and clenched his hand into a fist before bringing it down to meet the table.

"Prongs, Lily, I promise that he will not get away with this."

James turned at the mention of his wife as if suddenly reminding himself that she hadn't spoken in the last two hours. As he looked at her fully he noticed that although they still looked like they were the same age as they did 14 years ago , Lily now had bags under her eyes and tear tracks running down her face making her look like she was carrying the whole world on her shoulders.

"Lily?" He said in an almost whisper volume but it was enough to startle Lily from her absentminded staring into the wall behind Sirius' head. James reached out a hand and gently stroked her cheek.

"Are you alright love?"

Lily lifted her own hand to wipe away the tears from her eyes and cleared her throat.

"I'm fine. I am a little tired so I hope nobody minds if I go to bed."

They all looked are her with worrying expressions on their faces.

"Really I am fine, it's just a lot to take in and I need some time to digest it all." Lily tried to reassure the others in the room by placing a force smile on her face but she could tell that she wasn't fooling anyone.

"Where should I go?"

"Upstairs, second flight, fourth down on the right is free." Molly replied the mothering tone in her voice evident.

"I'll be up soon." James stood and placed a kiss on the side of her mouth. "I love you."

Lily gave him and smile before placing a hand on his shoulder and lifting herself up to kiss him back. "I love you too James." Then she turned and left.

"It has hit her hard." Remus said a moment after so that he was sure that she was out of earshot.

"It has hit us both hard; Lily just has a hard time letting other people carry her burdens." James replied.

"I believe it is time for me to go as well before I out stay my welcome. Thank you for the tea it was much appreciated. Molly care to walk me out?"

"Of course" Then the pair left the remaining marauders to themselves.

"Headquarters for the order of the phoenix huh? I bet your mother would have loved that eh Padfoot?"

"The irony is not lost on me my friend and I can generally say that I find a great amount of pleasure in that fact." James laughed.

"Listen mate, I know that what you learned about Harry's life so far isn't the best. But that doesn't mean that he was not got a lot of good things in his life, we just gave you the key events which aren't his whole life." Sirius tried to reassure.

"Promise me something."

"Anything" Remus answered.

"Tell me about those parts tomorrow, with Lily, I think she really needs to know."

They both nodded.

"Well I better go and check that the misses is okay."

"Still whipped I see."

"Wouldn't want it any other way."

James slowly opened the door to the find Lily sitting on the edge of the large four poster bed.

"Lils?"

"You know when we first went into hiding I used to have nightmares about horrors that our darling boy would have to face but that was all they where - nightmares. We were supposed to protect him, save him from the dangerous of this world." Lily's voice cracked under her emotions and James rushed to her side.

"We were supposed to stop Lord Voldermort or at the very least be by his side when he had to go through those horrors." Lily sniffed and had to pause in order to let her body take in oxygen. "We were supposed to be his parents!"

James wrapped his arms around Lily's shoulders and held her close to him tears running down his own cheeks. He held her until he could finally feel her breathing start to slow as she falls asleep from exhaustion. He then laid them both down on the bed allowing himself to fall into the welcomed oblivion of sleep.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Dumbledore smiled widely as he made his way to the Gryffindor common room and it was as every step he was taking took twice as long as he would want it to. Every second was another second that a boy lived in this world believing he was an orphan when that wasn't the case, not anymore.

He had sent an owl ahead of him to make that sure that Professor McGonagall he waken Harry from his sleep along with his two best friends: Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. Sometimes news of this magnitude, even good news, is best to be heard with friends around to help with the digestion.

Once Dumbledore reached the Fat Lady he entered the common room, but not before having to remind the Fat Lady that he was on important business to attend to but would listen to her issues about the knight and fair maiden in the next portrait over later on the next day.

"Dumbledore finally! Now can you please explain what on earth is going on?" Sometimes Minevera's tone even scared him. "Is it about Potter's safety? Is he in danger? Well anymore danger? Is it the order? Has something horrible happened? Has –"

"Minerva! Please let me speak and you will find that I will be more than happy to tell you about why I have summoned you all here this evening."

He turned his attention to the three teenagers sitting in the sofa next to the fire. All three looked alert and awake despite the lateness of the hour. All three looked apprehensive about the news that they were about to receive and who could blame them after all that they have been through.

"Relax, please, I promise the information that I about to impart on you is of the most happiest of occasions."

"What is it Professor?" Harry asked as he sat in the middle of his friends on the royal red and gold coloured sofa.

"It seems that there has been a silver lining on the return of Lord Voldermort." All four of their eyebrows where scrunched up in confusion.

"What can you mean Professor? Do the ministry believe Harry now? Did you manage to convince them?" Hermione questioned the old and wise wizard.

"No not quite, that I am still working on." He paused and moved to stand in front of Harry. "My dear boy it would seem that the magic that brought Voldermort back didn't just bring him back. It also brought back everyone who died at Godric's Hollow that night."

He watched them carefully as the words of what he was saying sank into the Gryffindors in the room.

"Albus?" Dumbledore turned to face Mc Gonagall. "Albus are you feeling alright? Perhaps I should take you to see Miss Pomfrey." Minerva said in a worried tone whilst placing a hand on the old man's shoulder.

"I am perfectly well. Thank you." He turned his attention turned back to Harry. His old and wise blue eyes stared into the prefect replica of the green of Lily Potter's emerald eyes. He joined his hands and placed them in front of his body. "James and Lily Potter are currently residing at 12 Grimmauld Place after waking up at Godric's Hollow as if they had only blacked out for a couple of hours."

"But Voldermort came back ages ago, are you sure that they are not just imposters." Ron asked.

"Although they were both brought back by the ritual different magic was used meaning that Lily and James return was delayed somewhat and don't worry they have been questioned be Sirius and Remus."

"Albus are you sure?" McGonagall asked are superior.

"Quite sure yes, otherwise I would not be imparting this information. Remus and Sirius have both asked questions that only the real Lily and James would know. Plus I had a theory that something like this would happen."

"Then why wouldn't you tell us about it?" McGonagall questioned.

"I didn't want to get Harry's hopes up in case I was wrong."

"Get my hopes up? Get my hopes up?" Harry repeated breaking out of his state of shock, quietly at first but it didn't stay that way. "Get. My. Hopes. Up. They are my parents I had a right to know what is going on!"

"Harry, please, I know that you feel that Dumbledore should have told you but this is a lot of information to be taking in and I promise that once you have calmed down you will realise that it was the most reasonable course available." The most logical of the trio answered before Dumbledore even had a chance to defend his actions.

"Hermione, this is my parents we are talking about."

"Exactly. So why are we sitting here arguing about whether or not Professor Dumbledore should have told when you parents are living and breathing in this world. We know that this is the one thing you desire most in the world so this is a good thing – a brilliant thing – enjoy it." It was Ron this time airing his options on the matter. Harry looked both ways at the two people that have always been there for him through thick and thin. They were right this was the best thing to happen to him in his whole life so why was he sitting here? A bright smile slowly made its way across his face as that fact registered with his brain.

"I need to see them."

"Tomorrow." Dumbledore promised and just as Harry was on the verge of protesting he continued. "They also desperately want to see you too, they however are exhausted from their day and so it is good for their health to get some rest before they have to deal with another onslaught of emotions – never mind how good and welcomed those emotions are. You will be excused from classes next week and I will personally see a port key is made for you to leave for Headquarters 6.00am tomorrow. Sharp."

"Tomorrow" Harry whispered to himself.
