Now a quick warning this is Chapter was written in Dante's Pov.

Chapter 5

It was a short walk from Ponyville to Sweet Apple Acres. It was a nice walk thou. Even after Corvo saved Dunwall and restored Emily to the crown. They were able to give life back to the dead capital even after how far it had fallen.

Streets were cleaned and even some of the nature was restored but even then, only so much could be done. Sis gave life to the fallen capital she poured her heart and soul into helping everyone.

It was her dream to bring back the beauty that once was. She told me once that she wanted to make everyone happy, and if she could see this place. It would bring her to tears.

"Something wrong there Dante?" Applejack asked me as she looked behind to see that I stopped in the middle of the dirt path.

"Ya!" A small voice shouted out as something landed on my back, "Y'all just upped and stopped there for a moment just staring at the trees." Apple Bloom said as she just tilted her head looking at me.

I just took another look at the flourishing land once more, "Sorry, I'm just not used to all this." I waved my front hoof towards the nature around us. "Where I come from all of this, we destroyed the nature in my world. But it makes me happy to see the land here so untouched by huma- I mean Pony kind."

I saw a small smile appear on Applejacks face, "Well it's nice ta know that somepony like you can appreciate the little things. But this here is just the cream of the crop Dante. Just wait till ya see Sweet Apple Acres. Best darn tooting apple's ya can get this side of the Equestria!" She said with a big grin on her face telling me she took pride in saying that.

And it gave me some reassurance knowing that she was trying to help me feel better in her own way.

"I'll take your word for it." I told them as Apple Bloom jumped off my back and gave me a nudge forward.

"Now stop holding up and let's ta moving Mr. Dante!" She said happily.

I followed them down the path until we came to a large arch made of some type of metal and the words, "Sweet Apple Acres" written on it.

"Welcome to your new home Dante." Applejack told me.

'Home.' Just the thought of the word made me miss Dunwall, "Yeah, home." I said in a not so happy tone but as soon as I did I was smacked on my back by Applejack.

"Hey now, none of that while Ah'm around ya hear." She said, "Now come on, once we get ya settle in we can get ya ta work! She said heading off with Apple Bloom in tow.

I took a moment to recover, for a girl err, mare, she sure hits pretty hard. But it wasn't anything that I couldn't handle. I rushed to catch up with them. They had stopped near a big red barn, I had seen one like it before but that was in old books in the Royal Library.

"And this here is where y'all be staying." She ushered me inside the barn, "Up on the second floor is the spare room for guest. We'd let y'all stay in the house with us but there not much room to spare between Big Mac, Apple Bloom and Granny Smith an mah' self. I hope it's alright with ya."

I shook my head, "It's fine, I'm just glad to have a roof over my head is more than enough. But thanks for letting me stay on your farm Applejack." I told her and she just smiled.

"Ah wouldn't be thanking me just yet there pal, y'all need's to work for your living so when you're ready just head to the house over there and wait alright." She said with a smirk on her face.

"Fair enough, just let me get settled in and I'll come by to get started." She nodded and headed outside with Apple Bloom while I just looked around.

"Better then when I was living off the street." I said in a mumble as I got to the ladder but instead of climbing it I used Blink to teleport to the top where I was greeted with large patches of hay spread around before it opened up into a small area with an old looking bed and blanket with a small table and chair next to an open window on the side of the barn.

I striped down to my bareness. It was still strange for me to look at myself and see what had become of me, from a bipedal being, to a four legged pony. My body still had the scars that I had when I was human but in a way my own body felt foreign to me.

Now I had a dark brown coat and a white mane and tail with black roots. It was all so different but it was what I had to learn to deal with now.

Both of the Princess had explained to me that I would have to learn to live here since they weren't able to send me home. And if they were to try they told me the truth, there was a very slim chance I would end up back home and even if I did there was no telling if all of me would make it back.

That alone was more reason enough for me to try and adapt to the lifestyle here. I had two weeks to coup with my feelings. But even thou I know I should be dead, and this was a second chance at life.

But the things I did, I had done. I just have to remember what Corvo always told me, 'You have to live with the choices you make in life, the good and the bad.'

And this was mine.

Heh, and it surprised the royal guard since I was what they called an earth pony but I could do things that only unicorns could.

One of such was since I had more magical properties due to all the mana from the bone runes I've collected over the years. You would think that people would stop making them but they kept turning up every now and then.

But still, I placed my pack against the foot of the bed before I patted the bed as a thin layer of dust came off it.

"Home sweet home." I muttered out as I put my cloak back on since in a way I still wasn't completely fine with being naked in the sense. Even thou it was natural for them to not wear clothes.

I looked down at my mark. I could still feel its power even if it was cleansed now. It felt peaceful, compared to how to use to feel, "I just I should head over and get started then."

I went to the side of the level and jumped down with ease before I headed out the door towards the larger house.

That's when I felt something heading towards me and I was right I turned to my right to see two hooves inches away from my head.

I quickly lifted my front hooves to block the surprise attack which worked only I was knocked back clearing a good ten feet before I landed against the ground.

I flipped myself over and got up in time to see the large colt charging right for me.

'Damn these legs!' I mentally cursed my new body as my instincts reacted for me and I tried to stand up on my hind legs only to stumble backwards before I regained my footing and lifted my right front hoof towards the charging Colt, "Bind!" It was a similar move to one that Corvo knows only without the lethal intent.

Bind was simply a way for me to stop my opponents in their tracks which seemed to work well against this guy since his legs were bound together which he noticed when he slammed face first into the ground.

I held him in place as he struggled to break free as I neared him, "Who are you and why are you attacking me." I asked him.

The colt just gave me this look, "Y'all came out of our barn and your' asking about why Ah'm attacking ya? Just who do ya think ya are coming trying to break into our barn house." He said staring at me while still trying to break free of my binds.

"I think there is a misunderstanding here-" "What in tarnation is going on out here!" A voice shouted from behind me.

I turned around to see Applejack rushing over, "Dante? What are ya doing to ma Brother? And Big Mac, what are ya doing to Dante?" She asked looking at how we were at the moment.

I was standing over him with him lying on the floor with his legs bound by an unforeseen force.

Big Mac gave Applejack as confused look, "Ya know this colt AJ?" He asked and she nodded to him.

"This here's the colt that I told y'all about earlier. But why are you on the ground Big Mac?" She asked him and he just looked over at me.

"Oh, right." I waved my hoof releasing the bind freeing him as he got back up stretching his limbs out, "Like I said before, this was all a misunderstanding." I said as I explained what had just taken place to Applejack.

She gave the colt, Big Mac. An earful for attacking me just because he saw me coming out of the barn which I learned just under where I was now staying was where they stored the apples they harvested and he thought I was trying to steal some apples which is what led him to confronting me.

All in all, he apologized and I did the same for using my powers to stop him, but the moment all was forgiven his face drop into a lazy idle look like for someon… pony that was relaxed.

"Alrighty then , now that, that's all taken care of we can get started on harvesting the rest of the apples on the west end of the orchard. Big Mac knows what he has to do, and since Apple Bloom is having a talk about leaping in front of dangerous creatures from Granny Smith. Looks like your' work load just got bigger Dante." She explained to me.

I nodded to her, "That's fine with me. But what exactly am I going to be doing?" I asked her as she got this grin on her face.

"Get that there wagon full of baskets and follow me." She said pointing to the large wagon on the side of the barn which Big Mac was already getting a second one there.

I went over and saw that Big Mac placed a harness over his neck and started to pull the wagon behind him,

I did the same with a little bit of trouble since I had no idea how to do it.

"Do ya need some help there Sugarcube?" I looked behind me to see Applejack standing there with a smile on her face as she was trying not to laugh at me but clearly she was failing.

I sighed, but my pride kept me from accepting her help. But I gave it after I could get the harness on, "Could you help me?"

She just chuckled as she came over and like nothing she placed the harness on me and I heard a click which meant she did it.

"How did you?"

She chuckled again, "Ah been doing this is I was just a filly, it's like seconded nature to me. Oh, and you should remember that you need to unlock the clip on the back of it so you can place it around your body." She said pointing to the small clip on the side of my body.

I groaned out, "Was it really that simple…" She just continued to laugh at my expense.

"Come along Sugarcube, we got a lot of work to do." She said leading the way.

I followed her down the dirt path for a while before she glanced back at me, "Are ya sure you wanted to be wearing that coat of yours'? Ah mean, it's summer and you're gonna fry in that." She said but I just shook my head.

"I know that ponies are fine with walking around with no clothes on but I feel naked without it. But where I come from we wear clothes to cover ourselves up. And even if I'm a pony now I still have my morals." I explained to her to which she nodded and continued to walk ahead of me.

For a good ten minutes we pasted what seemed like hundreds of trees until she stopped us.

"Alright, here is the west side of the Orchard. Grab them baskets inside the cart and lay them out under that tree right there." She said pointing to a tree near us.

I nodded and did as she told of me. It was simple. And I was a fast worker.

"Good, now pay attention because Ah'm gonna show ya how to apple buck." She said as she walked over to the tree and turned around as she leaned forward on her front hooves as she lifted her rear ones into the air and without a moment's hesitation she slammed both her hind legs into the tree which shook the entire tree before red apples began to fall filling up all the baskets that I had placed under the tree.

"And that is how ya apple buck an apple tree. Now just help me carry these over to the wagon y'all can get started ok." She told me and I nodded to her as I was about to use my abilities to help when she stopped me.

"Oh, and none of that fancy magic you got there either. I didn't let Twilight use her magic when she helped so it's only fair that you have that same rule."

"Good to know. I guess I'll get started." I said as I finished unloading all the baskets on the back of the wagon as Applejack put the harness on.

"Good, Ah'll be back in a bit to check up on ya progress."

"Wait, when do I know when to stop?" I asked her but she just smiled.

"When you're done filling up them baskets up." She said with a smiled as she pointed to the large amount of baskets I had taken out of the wagon before she started to pull the cart away leaving me there alone.

I watched her leave before I turned to the trees and sighed.

"Better get started." I said to myself as I bit down on a few buckets placed them around the tree before I did the same thing that Applejack did and the results were the same only a few of my apples missed the baskets and hit the ground.

"Well not 100% but it'll do." I said to myself as I gathered the baskets and placed them near the pathway before I turned around and continued to do what I was told.

-A bit later on-

"Damn it's hot." I said lying down under a tree that cleared a long ago. I finished filling up all of the baskets nearly thirty minutes ago and it had been an hour since Applejack left with the wagon which I was waiting for her to come back with it so I could take these apples back but after waiting for a bit it was getting hotter and hotter.

"Forget it." I said as I got up and took my coat off it was just too be wearing it right and I was sweating underneath so that didn't help, but once it was off I felt much better. It was a hell of a lot cooler now.

I looked down the path to see if Applejack was coming or not and she wasn't but it was then that I heard some bushes being moved behind me but I thought it was just the wind but I had this weird vibe from it.

I decided to head back to see what was going on so using Blink I was able to make the distance in a matter of seconds and when I got back to the barn I saw the wagon outside but the baskets that Applejack had were gone and it was just sitting there.

"Might as well take it back and bring the apples here to unload." I went to the wagon and this time remembering what Applejack told me I unclipped the harness before I put it over my head and clipped it again. Nodding at the fact I got it in one go I started to head back.

I got back to my spot and started to load the wagon up. When I was done I had a huge the wagon was full and when I started to pull it was a bit hard since the added weight but that was quickly fixed since I was stronger when I was human and it seemed I was still strong as a pony.

With ease I was able to pull the wagon back to the barn where I got out of the harness and opened the barn doors and started to carry the baskets in one by one.

I found the area where they brought them, in the back near the other door way. There was the pile of baskets Applejack brought over but it made me wonder where she was. I put that thought aside for now since I had to finish placing my baskets.

"Mr. Dante?" I heard a voice call my name when I put the last basket down.

I looked to see Apple Bloom standing in the doorway of the barn, "Hey there Apple Bloom. What are you doing here?" I asked her.

She just kicked a hoof on the ground, "Ah came to apologize to ya. Granny said I had to since Ah put myself in a danger back when the Timber Wolf came into town."

She was looking down at the ground but I just walked over to her and lifted my hoof and patted her head, "There's nothing to be sorry about Apple Bloom. After all, I am a Lord Protector and that means I am sworn to protect those around me. So if you're ever in any danger, I'll be there to protect you." I told her and she looked back up to me.

"Do you really mean that Mr. Dante?" She asked.

I nodded to her, "I do, after all your my friend right?" I asked her only to see a big smile on her face before she leaned over against my leg in what I guessed was a ponies way of a hug. It was cute.

"Eeyup! You're ma friend too Mr. Dante!"

I just cracked a smile, "Just call me Dante. And that aside have you seen your sister by chance? She told me she would come back to check up on me but she never did." I asked the little filly and she lifted a hoof to her face in a thinking pose.

"I don't know. I saw her leaving the barn but after that I don't know. But hey! Since you're done with your work did you want to come and play with me and the girls?" She asked me.

I just thought for a moment, "I don't know Apple Bloom. I'm supposed to be working…"It was then that she looked down and I felt bad since I just told her she was my friend, "But, I think I can take a quick break to hang out with you." I said as she looked back up beaming as she grabbed my hoof and tried to pull me which I humored her as she pulled me out of the barn.

"Come on Mr. I mean Dante! The girls are already waiting for me at the club house!" She said leading the way down the same dirt path.

"Alright, just let me stop and pick up my coat on the way. I forgot it by the tree I was resting under." I told her and she nodded as she continued to pull me along with her.

It made me smile on the inside, to see the children in this world with such innocence. It made me wish in a way that my childhood could be like this. But even if mine was taken from me, it still gave me some comfort knowing that they would never have to go through what I went through.

"Alright," I said getting my coat and putting it back on, "So where to now?" I asked Apple Bloom as she just pointed deeper into the Tree line.

"This way!" She shouted as she took off.

I grinned as I took off after her.

It wasn't hard to keep up with her and it didn't take long until I saw a small building resting against the side of a tree, "Is that the place we're heading?" I asked Apple Bloom and she turned her head back to me.

"Eeyup! Now hurry up ya slow pony!" She shouted to me to which I just laughed a bit.

"Hey Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle! Ah'm here and I brought a friend!" She called out as the door opened up and out came the same two fillies from earlier today.

"Hey isn't that the pony that saved us from the Timber wolf?" I'm guessing it was Sweetie.

"You're pretty awesome but Rainbow is still 20% cooler then you." The other one Scootaloo said to me.

I looked at the small house, "That's a pretty cool tree house you girls have there." I said to them.

"Thanks! We put a lot of hard work into making it!" Apple Bloom told me.

"And it's not a tree house, it's our clubhouse!" Scootaloo said proudly as she flapped her…wings? I took a seconded look at her back to see she was a Pegasus but her wings were smaller then they should be. She seemed to of noticed and she sent me a small glare and I mouthed a sorry to her.

"So what type of club is it anyway?" I asked them and they all turned to look at each other before they turned around and faced me.

"We're the Cutie Mark Crusaders!" They all shouted at me at once.

"We made this club because were on a quest to find out what our special talent is!" Apple Bloom explained to me.

And I got the jest of it. Three fillies that had yet to find their Cutie Mark, so they banded together to found out what they were good at.

"Speaking of Cutie Marks, what is your special talent umm?" Sweetie Belle

"It's Dante." I told her.

"Well Dante could you tell us?" Scootaloo asked.

I just shrugged, "I got this when I was around you're ages I guess you could say. It is the mark of the Outsider it lets me do things some special things that only I can do." I stopped there since I didn't a group of kids or fillies should know the true reason behind my Mark, "Well girls it's been fun but I need to be heading back now. Applejack might of found that I left without letting her know." I said.

"Do you wanna come and play with us sometime?" Apple Bloom asked me.

I had started to walk away but I stopped and looked back to her, "Sure, why not. And it was nice to meet you two also." I said as I left heading back to the barn.

It didn't take me that long since I just had to follow the path but when I saw the barn coming into my view, I saw Applejack standing outside looking around.

"Hey Applejack!" I called out to her and she heard me since she looked towards my direction.

She waited until I was up in front of her before she spoke up, "Where and the hay have you been Dante? Ah been looking all over the place for ya." She told me.

I just bowed my head slightly to her, "I'm sorry. I finished bucking the apples not long after you left and I was waiting for you to bring the wagon back but you never did so I came here and found it. So I took it back and gathered my baskets and brought them back here and placed them inside the barn." I explained to her, "Then when I was looking for you Apple Bloom found me and I decided to wait with her for a bit and she took me to meet the other Crusaders. And then I headed back here." I finished telling here.

She nodded and gave me a half sighed that turned into a smile, "Well this here is a surprise for me. Ah thought it woulda taken you longer to buck them apples. But looks like I was wrong and Ah'm sorry bout not coming back. Just the girls wanted to make sure everything was alright and to see if you were not trying to do anything funny." She said.

So I was right, "You and the rest of the Elements were watching me weren't you." I said bluntly as she as her face gained a little panic as her eyes darted away from mine, "Its fine. I can understand since just a few weeks ago I was trying to fight you all. But I would ask that you have a little more faith in me. I wouldn't take someon-ponies kindness for granted. It's not in my nature." I told her which seemed to put her at ease.

"Well, long as your fine with it. But Ah'm sorry anyway but anyhow you did a good job with getting everything done. I was going to make you bring them baskets here anyway so ya did good for first day. But tomorrows a different story, we need to harvest the rest of the apples around the farm before the fall comes in." She told me.

I nodded to her, "Alright. I'll be heading back to my room for today then." I said as I started to head inside.

"Dante, catch." I heard her said and I turned to see an apple flying towards me. I caught in in the air and looked at it before looking back to her, "Suppers starts when the sun sets so come on over then ok." She said with a smile.

"Ok." I said taking a bite out of the apple as I headed inside.

And I had to admit, that apple was probably the best darn apple I have ever eaten.
