Being Human Aiden/Sally Drabble

Hands

For a brief second he stopped his breathing. Not that it was all that necessary anyways, but his brain had to stop the action in order to make room for comprehension in the current situation. His finger was still toying with hers carefully and she was doing a great job returning the favor. The smoothness of her skin beneath his hands was almost intoxicating in a very real and very satisfactory way. The urge to feel more of something that had been forbidden before overwhelmed him. That look she gave him didn't help. He had to pull his hands away. He hadn't meant to take in a sharp breath as well and break eye contact, but the two came hand in hand and suddenly he was left with this awkward coldness between his digits as his mouth opened slightly to explain the situation. To make it seem like it wasn't what it actually was. There was some awkward exchange of words and they were suddenly back to silly poking and eye rolling. He smiled slightly, clumsily, to cover up the need to touch her with more than just his hands. And for a split moment they both saw flashes of skin upon skin. With hands lost upon each other, their eyes locked closer than they dared imagine. But then he got up and made a hasty retreat from the situation. There was a pause in which he almost hesitated in his stride but the wait was dismissed in the blink of an eye. And the lingering warmth on the sofa made her wish that he had never pulled his hands away.
