Betrothed

"...You're what?" Kyohei clenched his mouth close, his grip on the phone becoming dangerously tight.

He had to see her. He wanted to see her face to face as she explained to him why she had lied. Lied so easily through her teeth. He had trusted her, fell for that smile of hers. He moved to hand the phone over to Takenaga when he heard her soft sniffle.

"I'm sorry Kyohei, I thought if I ran away they would forget about it. I thought they would cancel everything. I never asked for this!" Kagome cried out on the other end of the line.

"Where are you?"

The was a pause of silence before Kagome took a deep breath. "Taisho manor. Please Kyohei, don't... come after me."

Even through the phone he could hear how distraught she was but still, how could she have hid this from him? A husband? She was meant to be married to someone else?

"Who?" He gritted out, the sound coming out similar to a growl. "Who is it?"

There was a rustle of fabric in the background and a knock on the door. He could hear Kagome scramble across the room with a small squeak of surprise.

Kyohei's eyes narrowed as he listened in to the background noise. The sound of fists pounding heavily on the door. "Kagome, open up! You can't keep yourself locked in here forever. I'll drag your damn ass out if I have to."

"Kagome!" Kyohei growled out impatiently, "Answer me, damn it!"

"His name is Hojo." she whispered harshly into the phone. The sound of wood breaking caught his attention before he heard Kagome shout.

"Kagome?" Kyohei whispered cautiously into the phone.

"Stay away from her if you know what's good for you." a male voice growled before hanging up the line.

Kyohei looked over at his roommates, a look of anger and confusion on his face. He tossed the phone to Takenaga before storming out of the room. He didn't care who that person was. They didn't tell him what to do. If he wanted to see Kagome, he would see her.

And when he did, he would get the answers he deserved.
