I do not own Good Omens or any of these characters.

This is just a short one, but I think I might rewrite it in greater detail another time.

The first time he 'officially' met anonymous-strange-angel (a.k.a Aziraphale) Crowley was only slightly disturbed, quite relieved actually, avoiding being smited with holy fire does that to a person. But after that it got a bit weird. He just assumed that angel was completely insane (so would either be demoted immediately or become an archangel, it could go either way) and moved on with his life and ruining other people's.

Then they ran into each other again.

And again.

And again.

Crowley was conviced at the time that someone up there had actually developed a sense of humour and was laughing at him.

It took a long time for them to sort things out.

The second time they met he could handle it and the third time was alright, four and five were a total wash, but that was more to do with the circumstances than anything else. The angel probably would never recover from meeting no.6 and Crowley still had scorch marks from seven, the eighth time got a little violent and the ninth time they were interrupted by Gabriel and Beelzebub at the same time so not only was it a little violent, but a little difficult to explain to their respective superiors. Ten didn't bear mentioning, but eleven went… Well. To a certain measure of well.

It took a grand total of seventy-six meetings over four hundred years for the angel to walk up to Crowley and drag him off somewhere else so they could talk about it.

He sat him down and looked at him before saying,

"Look, this is just getting a bit childish now isn't it? Now let's talk about this properly, I'm sure we can come to some arrangement."

Crowley had never been to school, but that's what he imagined the teachers who dealt with the very little children talked like.

It had taken several hours and quite a bit of arguing and alcohol, but eventually they came up with a proper agreement. To Crowley's later embarassment the whole thing was Aziraphale's idea, but it was him who came up with the idea of starting 'arrangement' with a capital 'A'. It changed the tone of the whole document, he thought.
