The sky was dark and the clouds covered every inch of it. The rain poured mercilessly down on to the dark, brown wooden coffin that held the most heroic man the world would ever know. Most people still doubted his heroism and never thought twice of defiling his name or grave but to the town of New Marais he was their one and only true hero.

Zeke Jedediah Dunbar had his face in his hands. He sat on a crate next to his beloved friend sobbing. No one but him, the ship captain and his dead friend would ever know how much he cried that day. The ship captain only looked him directly in the eyes once and that was only to get the directions of where they were headed, other than that he couldn't look him straight in the face.

"Awe…Man I am so sorry," Zeke placed a hand on his hand on the coffin finally looking up, the rain stung his eyes but he looked at it none the less.

A flash struck the sky.

A lightning bolt struck awfully close and threatened the safety of the ship. More followed it and Zeke looked at the sky crying more as each beautiful flash of light reminded him of his dear friend, Cole MacGrath. He was just a bike courier of Empire City doing his job to get by. Mostly he took the job to piss of his parents; Zeke laughed recalling that tinny detail. Cole was just delivering a package, he had no idea that that box held his fate inside. Even if he wasn't a conduit he would have died... Eventually… With the quarantine and the other conduits… and the... the Beast.

Another flash of light struck the shy.

This time it blinded Zeke, and this time it struck the ship. It cracked the coffin wide open exposing Coles body to Zeke once more. His eyes filled with tears at the sight of the scorched corpse.

The body stirred.

Zeke's jaw dropped. His eyes were now glued on Cole. "Cole?!" he screamed over the storms chaotic winds. The man didn't answer but Zeke knew what he saw.

Cole was alive.
