Kidnapped 2: Gotham City

Gotham City was a colorful place when the carnival was in town and what better way to celebrate the rare shred of joy then by bringing two gingers to it.

Dick laughed as he watched the usually grumpy fourteen year old get his face painted; Wally right next to him smiling away with his piles of junk food and prizes.

"I think that make-up really brings out your eyes, Roy-boy~"

All he got was a blue eyes glare and Wally only nodded as the last spot for his cheetah was painted on his face.

"You two are going to pay for talking me into this, you know."

Dick only shrugged and put the money by the painters, "There I paid can we get on a ride now?"

Wally jumped off the seat excitedly; before Roy knew it he was cornered by a twelve year old speedster and a ten year old bat giving him a double dose of puppy dog eyes.

"Shouldn't we be heading towards the car? It is getting late, Dick."

"Oh come on Roy just one more ride and a food stop for Wally and we will head back to the manor I promise."

Roy looked up at the sky before back at them, "Pwetty pwease."

The sigh was all they needed before they both ran off towards the roller coaster; Roy shouting for them to slow up behind them.

Walking out of the carnival was harder than walking in but Roy had to get them to Alfred; who was about to show up in a few minutes thanks to the fact he had just called.

Wally and Dick sat on the curb with glum faces thanks to Roy the party pooper as he was to be named from this day on.

A car stopped in the parking lot; near the entrance. To anyone else this didn't seem off because it could just be another carnival goer yet Dick and Roy were getting the same feeling that they get every night out.

"Wally…come on I think I saw Alfred over there."

Wally looked up confused; grabbing all his stuff, "What do you mean you just called him? How can he be here already?"

"Just shut up and walk, Kid Mouth."

Wally looked at both of them confused as they started to walk away from the newly arrived car and away from some of the bright lights that lined the entrance of the carnival.

From the newly arrived car two men stepped out; which were noted by both the archer and at mini bat; Wally was still as clueless as ever.

They stopped once they were fare enough into the shadows; Wally being pushed against the wall that was around the carnival along with Dick. Roy stood in front of them as he scanned the darkness around them.

"Guys, what is going o-!?" Wally was cut off by Dick's hand and a mini bat glare.

Silence filled the small space the boys shared; Roy glanced back at them and motioned for them to keep quiet.

He took a step out of the little circle carefully; the minute he did something happened to the two youngers.

Dick was too preoccupied in keeping Wally quiet he didn't hear the man come up behind him till it was too late; a hand wrapped around his mouth and put him in a head lock.

Wally was released from Dick's grasp but wasn't for long; a quick blow to the head and he was down on the ground disoriented by the other man.

The smaller redhead was tossed carelessly to the one holding the struggling Richard. With no words, only gestures; both boys were dragged back to the car.

Wally had recovered from the blow a little earlier than expected; biting the man's hand. He looked back at where Roy was and almost cried out but a hand constricting his throat stopped him.

Dick was thrown in the back quickly; the man keeping his grip on Wally's throat to make sure Dick understood what would happen if he tried to get away.

Blue eyes flicked back to the red head that was turning purple from lack of oxygen. All he could do was glare at the man as he threw Wally down after he was at the brink of unconsciousness.

Dick fought his captor the best he could but still ended up with his hands behind his back and duck-tape over his mouth.

Wally was sadly stuck in the same boat, though his neck was now pretty bruised from the tight hold.

Roy got a bad feeling as soon as he left the other two; he turned around too late though.

A fist went flying at his face, rendering him in a not so good state for fighting but that didn't stop him from trying.

All the training switched into gear; this man was bigger than him and a lot wider so he depended on the force and his weight. Himself he was smaller and thinner he had to depend on wit and his speed to get him out of this mess.

The man sent a punch aimed at Roy's face but it was dodged quickly; Roy ducked under the hand punched the guy right on the ear.

It set the larger man's balance off just long enough for Roy to kick at his shin hard and run. There was no chance to go back only a chance to run; and run as fast as he could.

He didn't look back, because it would only slow him down; he didn't stop running till he was safely by the road. His breathe coming out in small pants from the adrenaline coursing through his body.

He started on a steady pace in the direction he knew Alfred would be coming from; he took a wary glance back to see a dark van leaving the parking lot and turning the opposite direction.

Most likely taking Wally and Dick with it.

The trunk slammed shut after angry words had been exchanged; a gunshot sounded after the door slammed.

Seconds later Dick felt the car start and off it went to the road; his only thought was where Roy had got off to.

He hoped the gun shot hadn't been the death of his friend, the death of his brother.

Blue eyes flicked over to Wally; the green eyes scanning the area at a speed that looked impossible. Dick's eyes moved down to Wally's arms watching as they turned into blurs as he tried to vibrate out of the ropes.

Sadly Wally had never mastered the trade of vibrating out of things and he was too tired to have enough energy to do so.

Dick gave a light kick to the speedster to get him to stop; Wally's wide green eyes met Dick's before looking down at the floor of the car.

They moved closer to one wall the best they could; making sure to make themselves as small as possible in the back of the van.

To say Bruce was mad would be an understatement; Roy sat quietly in the chair as the man paced. The bridge of his nose was turning a dark purple thanks to the punch from earlier.

To say the least he felt like he had failed Bruce and his two friends. His blue eyes cast downward in shame.

"Roy…I'm not mad at you…"

The ginger looked up in confusion, "But I let them get away with them, Dick a-and Wally…oh God when Barry finds out…a-and Ollie…"

Alfred came into the room with an ice pack; handing it over to Roy with a muttered 'Master Harper'.

Bruce only shook his head, "We are going to find them don't worry; but you need to calm down Roy. We have to think about this logically."

Roy pressed the ice to his face, "Should we tell the police or get…get Batman to save them?"

Bruce stared ahead before looking over at Roy, "We need to find them before we jump into a wild goose chase. We wait for the ransom then find them."

The ride seemed to take forever for the two captives in the back of the truck; Dick even dosed off for a few minutes before the car finally stopped.

Wally stared straight at where the back doors would open once again looking for a means of escape.

The door open and light was shined straight at them blinding them for a second. Instead of two men there was only one; he reached for them both only to be kicked in the face by Wally.

Their captor growled and grabbed Wally's leg before it could hit him again; the speedster's eyes widened in surprise as he tried once again to kick him.

The man only pulled him over by the leg before unceremoniously throwing him on the pavement.

Dick was hoisted over his shoulder; the man closed the trunk and grabbed the back of Wally's shirt so he could drag him toward the building.

It looked like any old run down building in Gotham.

The man got them to the closet in the back room and locked the door; leaving them in the dark.

Wally's whimpered behind the gag; his breathe speeding up. The dark, the pitch dark, the confined space, he couldn't survive like this.

Dick moved over so he was next to Wally; so the redhead knew he wasn't alone in his worst fear. He wish he could talk to calm down or at least move his hands to knock him out.

Last thing they needed in this situation was a hyperventilating speedster sadly fate seemed to be against them.

Wally had his eyes closed tightly and one leg shaking at a more then human pace; the only thing Dick could do was sit there and listen.

The phone rang at exactly nine twenty three at night; and Alfred was there accordingly.

A few seconds later he stepped into the drawing room to hand it over to Bruce.

The billionaire glanced down at Roy before speaking into the phone in the calmest manner he could.

"Hello?"

A raspy voice answered from the other end, "I'm sure you know by now that I have your ward and his little friend."

Bruce sent a look towards Alfred who started to trace the call.

"Yes, I am aware," Bruce answered in a manner that could be a parent concerned for a child if it wasn't for Roy seeing how much the other wanted to crush the phone.

"Well if ya' want them alive, you better give me fifty grand; you have an hour to get down to the port for the drop off."

Alfred looked up at Bruce and nodded; a signal that they had the location. Bruce gave a small nod back, "I understand. Don't hurt either of them and you will get your money."

The line went dead with no answer in reply; Bruce sighed while looking back at Roy.

"You are going to call Oliver and tell him everything that has happened. We avoid Barry at all costs, that is the only way we can keep brash decisions to be made. This man has to see me with the money; that is the only way we will at least be able to see them."

Roy nodded and stood up leaving the plan to Bruce; he just hoped Wally and Dick weren't too hurt.

With some miracle Dick had gotten Wally to focus on him and calm down after a few kicks to the face and side which was the only way to get his attention and snap him out of this sadly

The bruise on the speedster's neck was already healing at least; though that didn't matter in this situation.

The sudden light from the door opening blinded the boys for a second before Dick was grabbed by the front of his shirt and lifted out of the closet.

He blinked till the figure in front of him focused into their kidnapper.

"Time to see daddy," the man growled before reaching and grabbing Wally's shirt.

He dragged them back to the van they had arrived in; throwing them into the back of the trunk carelessly.

Dick grunted in a pain when he landed on his shoulder; turning his head to send a mini bat glare at their captor before the doors closed.

Wally just lay where he had been thrown for a second before sitting up and looking around the van quickly before looking over the Dick.

They felt the car start up before it headed out onto the busy streets of Gotham to who knows where.

It was weird to think that as this van passed so many other cars and none of them knew what was inside; it was kind of scary.

The wheels rolling under them were felt easily; as the road under them was traversed.

Bruce stood by the car as stoic as ever; a brief case beside him holding the money. He glanced up at the warehouses where he saw a small figure standing before going back into the shadows.

He took in a deep breath before staring ahead at the head lights coming towards him, having to squint his eyes to keep from being blinded.

The van parked and a man got out from the driver's seat standing in front of the lights, still not enough for it too block them out though.

"You got here fast, Mr. Wayne."

The kidnapper's voice was laced with sarcasm as he watched Bruce step towards him with his hand blocking the light.

"I want my son back and I can't wait a second more till him and his friend are in my care again."

The man's face was hard to read thanks to the blinding lights of the headlights from the running car yet he could feel his smirk.

This man thought he had won.

"Show me the money; how do I know you aren't tricking me and already called the cops?"

Bruce sighed and grabbed the case; opening it to show the bills inside. When he reached for it the case was snapped shut and Bruce brought it back towards himself.

"How do I know you didn't show up here alone?"

The man huffed and glared, "You just wait here, and I will show you I brought the brats."

He turned and walked towards the back. As he went to open the door a red arrow lodged into the metal right by his hand.

He turned to look up at the building above him; his face paling. What the hell was that kid doing here?

With his head turned back he didn't notice the person coming beside him but he did feel the punch. He stumbled back and glared only to be kicked in the lower back and pushed forward back into a punch in the gut.

Both arrows glared down at the man as he tried to regain breath.

Green Arrow motioned for Speedy to open the back and get the kids out.

"Th-this ain't y-your city…" the man wheezed out.

GA only huffed and kicked him down; aiming an arrow at his face.

"Batman called in for a favor, he is busy at the moment. An unlike him I will kill if necessary."

The man's eyes widened as he stared at the sharp tip of the arrow aimed straight at his face.

They had been sitting in the stopped van in utter silence for what seemed to be forever; noise could be heard from outside before a very familiar masked face opened the door to see them.

"You two look like crap."

Speedy climbed into the van and kneeled beside Dick; ripping the tape off his mouth before working on the bounds on his hands.

"Well thank you, my dear hero. You look worried sick."

The ginger only shook his head before going to untie and ungagged Wally. Speedy helped them out of the van; they both glanced at GA before Speedy led them around and towards the awaiting Bruce.

The masked archer looked up at Bruce who nodded and got both the kids back into the car with Alfred.

"Make sure he gets him to jail and not mortally wound him…that is my job."

Speedy gave a short nod before running back over to the emerald arrow's side behind the van.

Bruce turned and got into the van next to the two boys; watching as Wally's leg shook in inhuman speeds.

Alfred started the car and they started the ride back home, "I hope you both understand that Barry can't find out about this."

Dick nodded in understanding on why they had to keep this from the scarlet speedster yet it didn't seem to process for the young speedster in the car.

"B-but..."

"Wally."

The warning tone in Dick's voice shut up the red head as they made their way towards the manor. Doesn't mean he wasn't going to when he got home though.

The next morning most news stations were talking about how a newly captured kidnapper, con man, and murder had said he wasn't caught by the bat but by Star City's archer.

Even after his confession about his latest crime it is still being investigated if he was telling the truth about the emerald archer being here in Gotham.

Just seeing on the report they knew that any second Barry would show up at the door and demand to know what had happened.

And when the speedster did arrive all he was going to find was Wally on the front step and the bats nowhere in sight.
