In a time of myth

And a land of magic

The destiny of a great kingdom

Lies on the shoulders of a young girl

Her name…Merlin

A young raven-haired girl was walking about the busy marketplace of Camelot in excitement. She had just arrived in Camelot after traveling from her home village of Ealdor. And she is already drawing stares (although unnoticed by her). And it was not because she was dressed in men's clothes. It was due to her beauty. Never before in Camelot has there been such beauty. Not even the Lady Morgana, King Uther Pendragon's ward, could compare to such beauty. To such pure innocence.

Perhaps she is an angel sent from the Heavenly Lord himself, was the thought going through their minds.

Not that she was aware of it. Too enchanted with the marketplace she was to notice the stares. And so they became even more enchanted with her. Taking enjoyment in knowing she was enjoying the marketplace. When suddenly a certain golden-haired prince had arrived with a group of his….."friends". And the prince was walking towards the young raven-haired beauty. Before anyone could react the prince had already reached her.

"Greetings my Lady."

Merlin ignored the voice, not realizing it was speaking to her.

"My Lady?" the prince tried again.

After a split second Merlin finally realized she was being spoken to.

"Oh you were talking to me?" asked Merlin towards the man who spoke. "I did not realized you were talking to me. Why would you call me Lady? I am but a commoner."

"you a commoner? Surely not my Lady. For you are far too beautiful to be a mere commoner."

Merlin just stared at him, not believing a single word he said.

"Ok is this some sort of practical joke?" Merlin asked. "And just so you know there is nothing 'mere' about commoners."

"I beg your my Lady but I am not playing any sort of practical joke. And do you not know who I am?"

"An over-pretentious ass of a knight?"

"I am the King's son. Prince Arthur."
