Fallenpaw woke up feeling refreshed. The snow hadn't stopped entirely, but it had certainly slowed down compared to the blizzard that was happening before. She didn't want to get up because the spot she had been laying in had become so warm compared to the cold winter air. If she had not been growing hungry, she would have laid there forever. She slowly began to stir, reluctantly moving one limb at a time to get the blood flowing again. As she was about to make a move to get up she heard a little noise from the back of the cave. She stopped for a second to listen again. One would think that with such big ears she would be able to hear better. After a few moments she realized that she must be hearing things and proceeded to ignore it. Suddenly she heard the sound again, this time she was sure. Her initial wave of fear was met with a moment's thought of "what do I have to lose". So what if there was something in the cave with her? It was the least alone she had felt since her apprentice ceremony. What was the worst the thing could do, eat her? Suddenly that didn't sound so bad.

Before Fallenpaw had a chance to finish her pity party, two eyes appeared followed by a large brown body. Stumbling towards her was a very sleepy Ursaring that had woken up a little too early from its hibernation nap. Her instincts kicked in and she suddenly had so much adrenaline in her system that she did not seem to care about how little she could feel her legs anymore. She ran as fast as she could from the cave, she didn't want to stick around and find out if the Pokémon was friendly or not. Even the kindest creatures can tend to be hostile when being awoken from sleep. Fallenpaw ran until she physically could not anymore. She was well away from the cave and she wasn't sure if the Ursaring had even bothered to chase her but she was not going take the time to check and see.

Although she would never admit it out loud, Fallenpaw began to love her new body more and more. Her longer legs allowed her to cover much more ground than before she had evolved and most likely cover more ground than almost any other eeveelution with the exception of Jolteon. But even a Jolteon would have a hard time running through all this snow. A Jolteon would have to go through it while Fallenpaw could just step over it. The main thing that she could not get over were the ear ribbons she seemed to have. She could not figure out how to keep them where she wanted them and if they had not been flapping in the wind when she was running, she was sure that she would have tripped over them.

As she caught her breathe, the realization that she did not have anything left began to hit her. Surely all the caves around here would be taken by hibernating Pokemon or even just others taking shelter when another snowstorm hit. The snow had lightened up to a point where she could tolerate it but it was still heavy enough to where it would cover tracks in a matter of minutes. But there, standing in front of her were a set of fresh paw prints. This brought Fallenpaw back to reality and she took a look around her to see that in her panic she had run back the way she had came. She had made it back just barley within the borders of her clan's property. She wondered if the paw prints had belonged to Leafpaw and if he was still looking for her or if they had potentially sent a patrol out to find her. Leafpaw turning back she would have understood turning back, it was dangerous for him to be out in snow storms because of his typing but the rest of the clan could have easily found her. She had only really traveled a short distance outside of the clan border. She could not decide if she should follow the tracks she found or if she should turn and go back the way she came. The thought to just go home even crossed her mind. She thought about all the worst case scenarios. She knew logically they would welcome her back because she still had clan blood. She had not broken any of the warrior code and she was still a clan eevee at heart. She just did not know if she could bare the idea of her parents not accepting her. They had such high hopes for her to follow in their footsteps and now she would never fulfill that desire. But at the same time, it was not her job to do as they wish for her future. She knew that she could have gone up there and chosen to be anything she wanted and yet she went up with the intent of choosing something she wasnt in order to please her parents. A Glaceon was not who she was. It was something that she could have forced herself to be but she couldn't shake the feeling that what she had become, whatever she was, was actually what she was meant top be.
