Author's Note: Aaaaand here it is. Last chapter. It's pretty much just a giant ball of fun and kickassery. Haha. I hope you enjoyed the story!

10. Never underestimate a great team , even if they are the underdogs.

Edward walked down the alley between building B and C, not even trying to be quiet. Havoc and Breda told him he didn't need too, Mustang and the Lieutenant wouldn't be so stupid as to hang around. Of course, the last time he trusted the two of them, he ended up looking like a fool and hanging from a tree for a majority of four hours. So, he was left to "man the base", as they put it, while they went and set up their trap and here he was, chasing a shadow, that he thought he saw, disappear around the corner. He rounded the corner and put his gun up only to stumble on the one person he wasn't to expect.

Colonel Mustang stood against the wall, leg propped up, arms crossed, and his gun dangling to his side. His trademark cocky grin was plastered on his face but he was alone.

"Ah FullMetal. Fancy meeting you here."

"What are you up to Mustang?" His only response was the widening of his smirk.

"You know, this was meant to be a training exercise, not just for the South but for everyone else as well. I'm certain that you are learning a lot. Am I right?" Edward left his gun pointed at the man, showing no sign of being thrown off guard.

"What are you getting at?"

"I'm saying, that you've learned not to bet with Havoc and Breda and you've probably figured out that they can be about as dumb as a box of rocks when the occasion calls for it. But I think there's a couple more things you need to learn."

Edward glared at the dark haired man. "Yeah? And what's that?"

"Lesson Number One. Never underestimate your opponent. I can see how eager you are right now, seeing that I'm presumably all alone and I don't have my gun at the ready." At his statement, the younger alchemist looked up, trying to spot the Lieutenant on the rooftops.

"Nice try, kid, but she's not there." Edward prepared himself to shoot., "However, that doesn't mean that she isn't here. Which leads me to lesson number two. Now, I can't really condemn you for this one, I had to learn the hard way, myself but, this one is very important." The young alchemist raised his eyebrows in question. "Never, and I mean never, piss off Lieutenant Hawkeye."

At that moment a paintball hit him in the forehead. The impact wasn't hard but it was enough to daze him for a moment. He saw a shadow disappear a building over before Mustang distracted him again.

"Let that be another lesson to you, FullMetal. Always watch where your weapon is. You never know what buttons the butt of your gun may be hitting." With that, he took off, the same way his Lieutenant did, with Edward on his heels.

Roy met with Riza at the other side of the building and they continued running until they we're on South's side of the arena. Edward followed behind them shooting a random paintball, whenever he felt he had an opening, but always missing. They always ended up dodging the bullet.

The pair rounded the corner of building I, and took off towards J, only to be stopped by Falman and his gun. Thinking quick, the two turned to go the opposite way only to be stopped by Fuery blocking one alley and Edward at another. They stood, back to back in the cross section of the buildings as Breda joined them in their last exit.

"Surrender or die!"

Roy spared a glance to his left then right, Falman and Fuery, knowing that FullMetal was the one that his Lieutenant was facing.

"Very clever trap, Breda. Using FullMetal's radio to draw us out. I'm impressed."

Riza continued looking for a way out when she noticed the sun glinting off of something silver on the roof of building J.

"I have Havoc." she whispered. With her back to Roy, she could feel the edge of his gun nudge her, letting her know that he understood.

"Did you expect any less, Sir?"

"Not really. However, you have made a couple of mistakes."

"And what would those be?" the small group inched a little closer.

"Well, the most obvious one is that you have two dead soldiers among your ranks. If this were real, do you plan on having an army of zombies?"

"No. Good thing this is just a game, huh." Roy nodded and Breda spoke again. "What was my second mistake."

The colonel's face fell into it's trademarked smirk again.

"You put Havoc within Hawkeye's sights."

At that moment, Riza moved her gun up and shot at Havoc's pirch on the roof she only had to shoot twice before she heard a faint 'dammit' and moved her focus on the other members as they started shooting. She hit Edward and Falman in every fatal spot she could think of before her and Roy switched sides and she made up for every spot he missed on Breda and Fuery. Red splattered all over the black shirt she wore but the pair continued moving in circles, ensuring that neither would be killed.

Only when the ammo was completely spent did they stop. Every member of the team was nearly covered, head to toe, in red paint, their black shirts and uniform pants not visible. Roy and Riza were the only two not completely covered and the two were unofficially dubbed the winners. As the group walked to the dead area, to meet the group of southern soldiers, their conversation was light and joking in light of their recent win. When they arrived to the dead zone, Colonel Mustang called everyone's attention .

"Let this be a lesson to all of you. Follow these rules and your journey through the military will be smooth. Rule number one..."

One last thing before I leave.
