22/7/2014: So, this is once again me, announcing a re-write. As always, hopefully it's better and improved...and hopefully all the terrible grammar mistakes are gone ;)

Of Chuckles and Chocolate

Bellatrix Lestrange sat on the counter in the kitchen of the Lestrange Manor and drank capuccino.

Two months.

It's been two months since she escaped, two months since she saw him again after fourteen years, two months since she realized that she still loved him.

Hopelessly, endlessly.

With a sigh, Bellatrix took another sip of the hot liquid and kept staring at the wall, allowing her mind to go in any direction. She thought about the meeting that ended two hours ago, about scarlet eyes and duelling and taunting Blondie, about not trusting Snape and loving Voldemort and about how good the coffee tasted-

Lack of something to drink brought her back to reality. Grimacing, Bellatrix jumped down from the counter and walked to one of the many cupboards in the kitchen. After making sure there was nobody in sight, she took her wand out and tapped the dark wood.

The door swiftly opened.

Inside the cupboard, there were many things - chocolate bars and frogs, lollipops and bubble gums, chocolate cauldrons and, of course, a bunch of various coffee packages. Bellatrix had to hide it all after she discovered Yaxley's love for anything and everything that contained at least a bit of sugar.
Tapping her fingers against the door of the cupboard, she decided against another cup of coffee and instead reached inside for a big bar of chocolate. Soon, she was back on her counter, eating pieces of it and humming under her breath as she did so.

"There was a Dark Lord and his wife... and he was beeeeautiful...amazing Dark Lord and his wife, he loved her above everything...and he was beeeautiful..."

She stopped abruptly when she realized what she was singing. It wasn't as much about somebody hearing the lyrics as it was about her being stupid once again.
She might've held the position of the Dark Lord's favourite, but that didn't mean her affections were reciprocated. No matter how much she wished for them to be.

"...and she was naive..." she whispered.
Angry at herself, she cut off that train of thoughts. The last thing she wanted was to fall into a never-ending depression about her unrequited love like some foolish weak-minded heroine from one of Cissy's romance novels.
Such feelings had to be fought, she decided, best with even more chocolate.

"Leave me some, will you, Bella?"

Bellatrix almost fell from the counter uponhearing the cold silky voice. She thought everybody has left the house already, including the Dark Lord. But yet, there was no mistaking in the tall figure, standing in the doorway with a smirk on his lips.
"Of course, my Lord," the witch quickly slid from the counter and bowed, handing him the rest of chocolate.

With a nod, Voldemort took it and, leaning comfortably against the doorway, put a piece into his mouth, as if this was merely one of his everyday routines.
Bellatrix felt a grin spreading over her face at the absurdity of the situation.

Lord Voldemort, the Dark Lord, eating Honeydukes chocolate in a kitchen.

"Care to share the joke, Bella?" asked Voldemort with a lifted eyebrow.

"It's just...funny, my Lord," grinned Bellatrix, "to see you eating chocolate..." her voice trailed off under his scarlet gaze.
For a while, silence filled the room.
And then Voldemort chuckled. It was music to Bellatrix's ears.
"Bella, dear Bella...you've seen so many extraordinary things throughout your life, you've done even more of them, and yet you're still surprised that I might like sweets?"

He took a few steps towards her and Bellatrix felt the lightheadness his presence always made her feel. She was glad she was standing near the kitchen counter, because she was sure if he came any closer, her knees might give up and falling down wasn't that high on the list of things she wanted to do in front of him.
Seeming absolutely unaware of the effect his closeness had on her, Voldemort walked past her, reached into the cupboard and took out another bar of chocolate. Without turning around he said: "Don't look on me like that, Bella. Even Dark Lords can have soft spot for sweets, like I said. DON'T LAUGH!"
Bellatrix tried, she really did, but it was just too much. When Voldemort hid two chocolate frogs inside his robes, she burst out laughing. Voldemort whirled around and in a blur, he stood before her. "It's not funny. I may be more than human, but I still need sugar," he hissed.
Bellatrix, tears of laughter in her eyes, leaned against the counter and gasped for breath. She almost managed to stop laughing, but when Voldemort took another piece, she lost it again.
"Merlin's beard, won't you just shut up already?" groaned Voldemort, throwing hands into the air. Bellatrix shook her head, unable to say anything.
Next moment, Voldemort grabbed her chin and looked into her eyes. She involuntarily melted against his touch, instantly forgetting the laughing fit she just had.
"That's better," breathed the Dark Lord.

And then his lips touched hers.

The universe turned upside down and the taste of chocolate ruled everything.

Bellatrix wrapped her arms around Voldemort's neck, trying to get everything she could from the moment. She felt two strong arms sneaking around her waist.

The rest of the chocolate lay forgotten on the counter.

And neither of them cared.

If you liked it, there's this lil' box down there that you can write something nice in... :)

Until next time, sweeties!
