Chapter 8

For him

Percy have had better days, like seriously. When he woke up he find out that he was transferred to his father's bedroom. Not that he minded, but still he figured that Poseidon would like to have his privacy. Seriously? What in Hades just happened to put his father so….stressed? He couldn't remember anything, when he was going to stand up he felt a pang of pain coming from his chest…..like if someone was poking him with long needles.

"Ow!" He moaned.

He rose his shirt up to find the reason of the terrible discomfort but what came into view were bandages covering his chest.

"Okay…. this is weird."

How come he can't remember? He needed explanations

wait….

That "Dream" he had when he was sleeping, the dream with the man warning him about his father's past….about the fact that he wanted to kill him!

The sea monsters! they attacked him in his father's play room, riptide was on his right arm and he was trying to free himself from the squid powerful tentacles that were trying to choke him…when everything just went black.

The son of the Sea god tried to stand up again, but his legs felt like jello. His vision was blurry and his responsiveness was kind of wobbly, it wasn't so easy to get to the door. The walking was tricky, like going into a trap. Any second and Percy would fall to the ground if he made a bad movement. Did he have a surgery? because it felt like it. Besides, it was the first time that Percy wished he could fly, which was rare since his father is Poseidon and Zeus forbade any child from his brothers to use his domain. He wasn't so sure if flying applies to that rule, though.

The door shrieked when it was opened and finally the son of the sea could leave the giant bedroom. The corridors from the palace were like a maze, how can Poseidon not get lost? Like seriously, this was confusing, or he was confused?

Where was his father anyway? Percy didn't think of his father's whereabouts when he decided to leave the bedroom, he just needed to walk. But now that he isn't in that room. The priority was to find his father since he was alone.

"The throne room…" He murmured to himself, his father could be there. Probably listening to petitions or prayers. What does a Greek god do apart from ruling his domain? how did he gave orders for the sake of his people? Was Atlantis was just the palace or it had a "town" where sea people lived?

Hold on…why are these questions coming to him?

What was happening?

Why did he felt so….

vulnerable?

His body wasn't responding to him as it should, it was worser than the recovery he had from transforming into a guinea pig, thanks to Circe.

Suddenly, when he chose the right hall. He heard voices, one was deeper and soft that gave Percy a feeling of security and another who Percy couldn't recognize. He peeked and saw his father sitting in his throne with his trident in hand and another man who had grey skin that matched with his hair.

"Lord Poseidon, what is going to happen?"

" I don't know, Delphin. Things have aggravated too fast, in a day Percy was attacked. And whoever sent those monsters will pay the consequences. As you heard me in the meeting, the palace will be in high surveillance. If something where to happen to my child….I don't know what it would do to me, what it can do to the sea."

"What about Zeus?"

"My main priority is my kingdom and Percy right now, please do not mention my brother."

Poseidon's voice sounded so tired, and Percy feared for him. The last time Poseidon showed himself like that was in the war, his usual self was fighting to be back. A shiver ran through his body, Percy needs to go to Poseidon. To tell him that he was going to be okay and that he shouldn't worry about it.

Poseidon words were to terrifying:

If something where to happen to my child….I don't know what it would do to me.

Was he really so important to Poseidon to the point of breaking his existence? Those words proved Oceanus wrong, right?

Should he tell Poseidon about his dream?

He looked back at the god.

"I have to protect him Delphin, not only he is my son but also HE is what makes me continue"

Percy decided against it, in time he'll find out about his father's past. But, what if Oceanus decided to attack again?

He was scared, too scared.

"Is something wrong, Lord Poseidon?"

Poseidon stopped talking when he felt someone outside of the throne room, his presence was strong but not as strong to match a god. The feeling it radiated from the person was just pure anguish, frowning he glanced at the hall where he felt the presence, was it….Percy?

The sea God shook his head, his son is in his bedroom…or maybe not.

He recognized that being.

"Delphin, I thank you for coming but I shall have my time now."

"Of course." And the god disappeared.

"Perseus, what are you doing walking in such a state?" Poseidon asked voice a little bit broken.

He didn't got an answer but he knew that his son was still there.

"I know you are there, my boy."

Shyly Percy came out of his "hiding spot" and walked stumbling to Poseidon who offered his hand to support him. There was a moment of silent, but Percy was the first to break it when he saw a small wound on his dad's arm.

"Dad, I'm sorry for the trouble I gave you! It was reckless of my part to fight knowing my state…." Percy said with his head down not looking at Poseidon." But I just couldn't do anything!"

Poseidon smiled softly and carefully pulled his son into a hug, the sea god hid his face on his son's shoulder.

"Dad?"

"You really thought that I was angry? In the contrary Percy, I was scared." Poseidon admitted." How could you possibly think like that? there's no reason to apologize, don't do that."

Percy nodded and returned the hug.

"Now son,why are you having desperate thoughts?" Poseidon asked. "Why were you thinking about Oceanus?

Oh no, Percy completely forgot that gods can read minds!

"Uh, well…" The demigod chuckled nervously. "I don't really…know."

"You are lying." The sea god replied frowning this time looking at his son. "Perseus, I need to know what's going on, why were you thinking about Oceanus?"

the boy was debating with himself in whether he should tell Poseidon about his dream and Oceanus or not, the discussion he had with himself was stressing him more. The pros and the cons, the bad and the good….

"Percy?"

"I…was just scared."

"Scared of what Percy?"

"I was scared because…my rib was broken…."

Poseidon sighed and hugged him again.

Percy guessed that it was a bad idea to lie to his father because his body just couldn't take the guilt anymore, because as soon as he was in his father's arms again. The darkness welcomed him again as he felt unconscious.

"What did you do, Oceanus?" Thetis asked angrily. "I warned you about this! You never listen to me!"

"Silence!" Oceanus deep voice echoed over the depths. "It had to be done, it was a warning. I want to tell that kid the truth"

"Just fight for your throne, dear, that's your reason for all of this." His wife huffed. "I'm tired of leaving in the darkness!"

Oceanus groaned and left his wife alone, not wanting to hear her drama.

"I will repeat, it had to be done!"
