This is Ryu Kotei with the final chapter of To fix a Broken Sun. This fanfic has been long and difficult, but I am glad to finally put another great story to rest. I am also going to say that we have a very short time before the deadline date for the petition to stop SOPA from passing. We cannot let our imaginations die because of those greedy fools thinking that they can change what has already been permanently agreed upon years ago.

On a final note, I do not own Naruto.

Chapter 13

Naruto sat in Hinata's room looking at the kunai in his hands with confusion on his mind. He had just gotten through a meeting with Hiashi and Inoichi after it was reveal that Naruto had a kunai on him. After the conversation, Hiashi had decided to let Naruto hang on to the knife and said that if Naruto had loved Hinata as much as Hinata had loved him, then Naruto would know what to do with it. The blonde was fighting his confused mind as it didn't make sense letting a person on suicide watch hold on a BLADE.

If I love Hinata-chan as much as she loved me, then I would know what to do with it, Naruto thought about what Hiashi had told him, but what am I supposed to do with this? Naruto looked at the ceiling as he let his mind drift towards Hinata and how she had confessed her love to him. She's very pretty and something about her just makes my heart rush, the blonde thought as a bright blush formed on his face, Then there was that kiss…I can't explain it but…WOW! Naruto's mind then went to that lone scar on Hinata's arm when the girl told him her own dark secret. She told me that she was afraid after cutting herself that first time, the blonde thought as the image of that small jagged pale scar appeared in his mind, I know it's not normal…but is it really that scary? Naruto placed the kunai on the nearby desk before laying on the bed as he ran his hands over his face. What the hell am I supposed to do?! Naruto roared in his mind as it was buzzing madly in confusion. "Just get some rest, Kit," the fox said inside Naruto's mind, "The answer will come to you soon." I hope so, Naruto thought as he decided to get some sleep as he knew Neji was just standing outside, I really need to get this shit together…

Night had fallen as Tsunade and Jiraiya were in Naruto's apartment where the Godaime was healing some of Hanabi's injuries. "I don't know if we can keep this going, Jiraiya," said Tsunade as she finished the last of Hanabi's wounds, "If nothing is done about Hanabi's attitude towards Naruto, then the girl might die." Jiraiya let out a sigh as he placed a small cup of ramen on the table and said, "She is starting to break as the ANBU have told me about how she was silently crying out to her Hinata-kaa-san. It shouldn't be too much longer." Tsunade let out a frustrated sigh of her own, careful as to not wake Hanabi and said, "You better be fucking right as I'm not going to pay for a child's funeral." And I won't let that happen, Jiraiya thought as he prayed that if he can help change one person's view of the world, then Naruto might still have a chance to have a better life, I swear it.

It was the final day for Sakura to make her decision about Shi no Tenshi's offer and the rosette still didn't know whether or not as to take up the offer. She desperately wanted her Naruto back, but she didn't want to make someone else the jinchuriki of the Nine-Tailed Fox while Naruto still suffers as a jinchuriki of an angel of death. Sakura was walking down the street when she saw Naruto wearily walking with a sense of loss in his eyes. "Naruto!" said Sakura as she rushed towards the blonde as he fell to his knees, "Are you alright?"

"I…" said Naruto as tears slowly formed in his eyes, "I can't take it anymore! The beatings, stores refusing their businesses to me, having to eat ramen day in and day out. I'm sick of it all!" Sakura desperately began to coo the now crying blonde as she said, "Don't worry, Naruto, I know you can get through this." Naruto slowly shook his head as he said, "This…this is torture! How is Naruto even alive after going through Hell every day?!" This confused Sakura as Naruto had just referred to himself in third person. "I want my kaa-san," said Naruto as he cried into Sakura's shoulder, "I need my Hinata-kaa-san."

Before Sakura could act, Naruto was soon waving around in a warping manner before the illusion vanished to reveal Hanabi covered in cuts and bruises. "Ha-Hanabi!" Sakura spoke in shock, "What happened to you?!" Hanabi then proceeded to explain that she was under a special genjutsu where all but Hanabi herself would see Naruto instead of the small Hyuga girl. My God…Sakura though in horror at a young girl going through such a horrific ordeal, She had just gone through Naruto's everyday life! "Sakura-chan," Hanabi weakly asked as her energy had left her, "can you please take me home?" Sakura nodded as she gently picked up the weary girl to where Hanabi could rest her head against her shoulder before walking towards the Hyuga Estate.

Hiashi, Hinata, and Naruto were in the living room when one of the servants entered. "Hiashi-sama, Hinata-sama, Naruto-san," said the servant as he bowed towards them, "there is someone here to see you…it's Haruno-san and Hanabi-sama." Hiashi nodded, sending a signal to allow them in as the servant left before Sakura and Hanabi entered with the rosette holding Hanabi's hand. The three of them looked at Hanabi in shock at the cuts and bruises she had and her clothes were ragged. Hanabi looked at Hinata before running towards her and tackling her into a tight hug.

"Hinata-kaa-san," said Hanabi as tears fell from her reddened eyes, "I'm…I'm so sorry about how I acted! I was foolish to not see the damage that was going on with Naruto's life!" Hanabi then looked at Naruto before getting on her knees and bowed with her forehead touching the floor. "Please!" Hanabi cried as the tears continued to fall, "Please forgive me, Naruto-san! I…*sob*…I have seen your life and…*sob*…I never knew what was going on! Please! Do whatever you want for retribution: beat me, spit on me, anything! I deserve whatever punishment you give me! Just please…*sob*…please forgive me!"

Naruto looked at Hanabi as her sobs were echoing in her mind as he could tell that the girl wasn't faking as even he knew no ordinary person could survive the life he had. Naruto kneeled towards Hanabi and gently placed a hand on the girl's shoulder, causing her to slowly look at him. "Hanabi-chan," said Naruto with a warm smile, "why don't you go get yourself some rest as you have gone through enough." Hanabi was shocked! Naruto wasn't going to hurt her, insult her, or anything as he just said to get some rest. "Why?" Hanabi asked with confusion. Naruto then sat down as he said, "Because if I did hurt you, I would be just like those bastards who refuse to see the good in others no matter what had happened. You are still a little girl with her whole childhood left and once you're a ninja, that childhood will be lost forever. I've already lost mine due to having the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed inside me, but you still have time and you can change. You have already learned that the world outside the Hyuga Estate isn't like everything you have been told and by going through my life, you can now appreciate what you have as there are others who have no home or family to go to."

Hanabi was dumbfounded at Naruto's attitude; he was merciful, even with how horrid his life was. No one would be so merciful as he was, but Naruto was showing kindness to Hanabi where as she showed hatred and intent to kill towards the blonde. Seeing the shocked looked, Naruto let out a sigh and said, "If I allowed myself to hurt others in retribution due to their beliefs, then I would just become what those who are blind have thought of me: a monster…a demon." Hanabi rubbed the tears out of her eyes as she enveloped Naruto into a hug as she quietly said, "Thank you…Naruto-san."

After Hanabi ended the hug, Naruto reached into his pocket and pulled out a small wrapped cloth before giving it to Hanabi. "I believe that belongs to you," said Naruto as Hanabi unwrapped the cloth and her eyes widened…it was the kunai that she had used when she tried to kill Naruto. "But…" asked Hanabi as this confused the hell out of her, "I tried to kill you with this! Why are you giving it back?" Naruto chuckled as he briefly glanced at Hiashi before he said, "Because I need to get my life back together and this is just one of the many steps I have to take. Besides…your sister would kill me if her boyfriend was still purposely cutting himself."

Hanabi looked to see her sister smiling and Hiashi nodding. The little girl then looked outside to see the small pond in their yard and walked out towards it. "This is where it ends," said Hanabi as she gripped the handle of the kunai, causing a few worried looks from the others, but much to their surprise…Hanabi threw the knife into the pond where it sank into the darkness. "Why did you do that?" asked Hinata as her younger sister enter the living area. "It's as I have said," Hanabi replied with a warm smile on her face, "This is where it ends. You no longer have to worry about me being like those blind…fools." Naruto chuckled as he had a good idea at what the little girl really wanted to call the villagers.

Sakura let the sight burn into her mind as she could feel the warmth of everything before her. Am I really going to change this because I want MY Naruto back, Sakura thought as she remembered what Shi no Tenshi had offered her, I'm not sure if all of those other times I've seen Naruto so happy were real, but this…this is the first time I've ever seen Naruto so happy, so full of life…just like the ball of sunshine he once was…Naruto looked to see Sakura give him once last warm smile before the rosette headed out so that the group could have their space. I know you really want to be my friend, Sakura, Naruto thought as Sakura's shadow vanished from the corner of the hall, and I hope you can make the right decisions in the future…

Nighttime had fallen as Sakura was in her room as she heard the timer go off. "Your week is up…" said Shi no Tenshi as he slowly appeared in the room with a confident smirk, "…Sakura-chan. I hope you have made up your mind." Sakura gave the angel of death a determined look as she said, "Shi no Tenshi, I have made my dicision…" Shi no Tenshi looked at the rosette without moving his smirk as he knew what the girl was going to say. "You can take that deal of yours," said Sakura as she now glared at Shi no Tenshi, "and go fuck yourself with it."

"So…" said the angel of death as his confident smirk was now as venomous and hateful scowl, "that's your final offer?" The angel saw the rosette glaring at him defiantly before he continued, "You know what I have to say about that…" Sakura hid a gulp of fear before what Shi no Tenshi had said had completely blown her mind. "Good job, Sakura Haruno," said the angel with a light chuckle getting a shocked bug-eyed look from the rosette before him, "You have actually given much thought about what you were going to do and used the full week for your decision on a literal life-changing deal."

"But…but…" Sakura asked as she was completely stunned, "Why aren't you going on a rampage about not having Naruto as your jinchuriki? Why isn't the Juubi running amok?" Shi no Tenshi let out a content sigh as he said, "While I am an angel of death who feeds of misery, I am not one without respect as I am honoring both sides of the deal. Also…" Shi no Tenshi walked towards the window as he then said, "I was actually sent to you to test you, Sakura Haruno, by Kami-sama as Kami had seen the deep shallowness inside of your heart and your actions had cause Kami to worry about the future." Shi no Tenshi then began to float through the window as he said, "I've stayed here long enough and besides…Naruto's no fun anymore so I'll just find someone else to torment for my fun. Ja ne."

Sakura watched as the angel then faded out of existence and for once felt a lifting sensation in her heart, knowing that she had made the right decision for the future of not only herself…but her Naruto as well…

Twenty years had passed as a woman was walking towards her office of the hospital after helping the Hokage's wife deliver their second child, Hikari Uzumaki-Hyuga. "To think that that baka, our Nanadaime, looked like he was about to piss himself as his wife was giving birth to their beloved daughter," the woman chuckled as she moved as single strand of pink hair out of her face and behind her head. If one were to look at the name plate on the desk, it would read: Sakura Haruno, Head of Staff.

Sakura looked at the photo on her desk as it was a picture of Hiashi Uzumaki-Hyuga's fifth birthday and the little boy was happy to be held my his aunt along with her boyfriend, Konohamaru Sarutobi. So much had changed during those twenty years: Sasuke's defection, Pain's assault on Konoha, facing the dreaded Juubi, and then Naruto's coronation along with the birth of Hiashi. "And to think all of that could have been different if you had taken up my offer," said a familiar voice.

Sakura looked up from her seat to see a familiar angel standing before her. "I haven't seen your ugly face in twenty years," said Sakura as she glared at her unwelcomed guest. "Indeed it has, love," said Shi no Tenshi with a playful chuckle as he floated off the floor cross legged, "I have something to show you." The rosette narrowed her eyes as the angel held his hands in defense as he then said, "It's not another deal, my dear, but instead a vision of what could have been if you had agreed." Sakura motioned Shi no Tenshi to show her, but still holding her glare on the angel.

With the a snap of his fingers, Shi no Tenshi created a small window to reveal Sakura kissing Naruto as part of the deal she refused. After that, it then show that Naruto was now the jinchuriki of Shi no Tenshi and the blonde had hateful scowl on his face with a dark aura was shrouded around him, and as for the Nine-Tailed Fox…it was revealed that the angel of death had sealed the demon fox inside Sakura. The window then showed different event unfold: Naruto defecting to the Akatsuki with him nearly killing Sasuke with a black scythe, Sakura leaving with Jiraiya on a training trip to control the demon fox, Konoha being completely decimated by Naruto as the blonde had now become the most powerful and feared Black Death due to the visible black aura around him, and finally…the world being ruled by Naruto with a Juubi-infused Madara at his side. "Naruto would have fulfilled the part of bringing the destruction of the shinobi world," said Shi no Tenshi as he made the window vanish, "He would become a shinobi that not even The Sage of Six Paths could ever hope to defeat even if he had the Juubi's power instead of Madara."

"So why are you showing me this?" Sakura asked with a stern voice. "Let's just say that I've pulled a few strings here and there as a special twenty year anniversary gift," said Shi no Tenshi as he then faded out of existence, "See ya on the flipside."

Sakura leaned back as her leather chair groaned as the rosette was comparing what she had gone through with what could have been. Would she change her mind if Shi no Tenshi gave her the offer once more. No; not even if she was the only one who could stop the Black Death if given a chance as Sakura never regretted using her last chance to be Naruto's friend. She chuckled since she was actually named the godmother of Hiashi and Hikari with Gaara as the godfather. "There are many things in the world that can easily be fixed through either forgiveness or time," Sakura said as she looked out the window to see the Hokage Mountainside to see Naruto's face carved above the previous six Hokage's faces, "but there can only be one chance to fix a broken sun…"

This is Ryu Kotei saying that I hope you enjoyed To Fix a Broken Sun. Don't forget to rate and review!
