"So, we all know that little Red has tried to set you up with multiple ladies and had no success for obvious reasons. Did anyone else try?" Tony asked.

"Your father tried." Steve answered. "Any time that we did manage to have a little free time and I wasn't with the guys, he was insistant on trying to find me a date. Some were a little...unbelievable."

"Please, tell us." Clint said in an interested tone.

"I'm telling you, my friend, I know a lot of ladies that would be very interested in meeting Captain America." Howard said.

"Howard, I witnessed it for myself when the guys and I got off the plane." Steve replied. "Those ladies were making it pretty clear."

"Well, this little welcome home party should be a bit more subtle." Howard said with his trademark smirk.

"Didn't know the word subtle was in your vocabulary."

"Oh, you're a riot."

Steve grinned and continued to follow his friend farther into his mansion. The captain wasn't use to being around such wealth and expensive luxury. This was one of the few times that he has been to Howard's home but this was the first time he has been here this long and has gotten a real good look around.

His enhanced hearing picked up music coming from down the hall and the sound of chatter and laughing.

"Howard, I don't know if..."

"Steve," Howard interrupted as he stood in front of the soldier and straightened his dress jacket. "You and the guys have been out in the field for almost nine months. Too long for anyone if you ask me. It's time for you guys to relax for a while, dance, eat some good food, drink a little and meet a few pretty ladies. Who knows. Maybe one of them will be the future Mrs. Captain America."

Steve lightly chuckled and followed Howard into the room where the party was being held.

"Captain Rogers has arrived." Howard announced.

The room errupted with cheers and clapping. Steve just smiled and waved to everyone and shook hands with a few.

He spotted Bucky dancing with a beautiful brunette and Dugan and Morita were at the table covered in food.

"Steve, it's time to mingle." Howard said with a bright grin and determination heavy in his voice.

"Why do I have a feeling this night won't be memorable for the fun?" Steve questioned mostly to himself.

"So what happened?" Clint asked curiously.

"He introduced me to thirteen women that night." Steve answered. "All of them gave me their phone numbers and had right away asked for a date. I told them all that I was going back into the field soon and I 'might' be able to call them when I got the chance."

"You never did, did you?" Tony asked.

"No." Steve answered. "But I wasn't lying at the same time."

"But, you weren't back out for another two weeks. So, how was it not a lie?" Bruce asked.

"I was in the office during that time and the phone lines were being fixed." Steve answered.

"Well, that isn't a lie." Clint said. "He said he would call when he got the chance. With the phones down and then him going back into field, he never got the chance to call."

"Were there any other times that my dad tried to set you up?" Tony asked

"Better question is: Were there any times he didn't try to set me up?" Steve replied. "There was the time I went with him to the expo, the time we went to the Stork Club, every time we were in the same building in London and Paris, the Fourth of July parade, his big Christmas party..."
