Sunset

Jaden looked out to the sea and saw the sun was almost gone for the day. The blue water had turned an orange color from the light of the sun. His journey at Duel Academy had come to an end and he was ready to take on the world. He had mentally prepared himself for the path ahead, to walk alone and travel the world. He had always dreamed of seeing Europe. He had hoped to see it with all of the friends he had made at Duel Academy, however, they were all graduating and moving on with their lives. Jaden soon realized he needed to do the same. Though he knew the road would be lonely, he was an adult and had to act as such. It was time for him to face the unknown. He took a deep breath and put his bag on his back. He looked at the sunset one last time before he left. Before the brunette could take a step he heard a very familiar southern drawl ask him, "It's pretty isn't?"

Jaden turned around and saw Jesse smiling at him. The brunette returned the favor as he always did whenever Jesse was around. He said, "It really is."

"So where you off to, Jaden?"

"I don't know yet, wherever I end up I suppose."

The blue haired boy walked closer to his friend, with his duel spirit pal Ruby Carbuncle walking right beside him. He stopped just in front of Jaden and asked, "Want some company? Me and Ruby love to travel. We've always wanted to see Europe."

Jaden smile intensified, for he and Jesse were two of a kind. That little fact gave the two endless things to talk about. Jaden's duel spirit Winged Kuriboh appeared at that moment and shook himself frantically to tell Jaden to let Jesse and Ruby come along. "All right, all right," he said to his duel spirit.

He returned his gaze to his friend and said, "I would love for you two to come along."

"All right then. Let's go," Jesse said.

Jesse reached out his hand and put Jaden's in his. Jaden blushed at the gesture. Jaden and Jesse both had feelings for one another since the day they met. After the Yubel incident those feelings were confirmed. They had never acted on their feelings for one another until that moment while the sun set behind them. Jaden smiled and nodded at his green-eyed lover and they were off to face the world together alongside their duel spirits Winged Kuriboh and Ruby Carbuncle.
