A/N: I know this didn't happen in the show but I figured one sweet encounter before the wedding would be nice :')

Choice Encounters

Finn Hudson was nervous. Not just nervous – hesitant. Kurt Hummel was about to become his brother and being the self-centered jerk he was he was scared to have Kurt as a brother. He didn't want to catch flack for it as he knew he would. Everyone knew Kurt was gay out at William McKinley and they didn't welcome it kindly. Unless one called slushy-ing, calling with harassing phone calls throughout the day, bullying, shoving around, and threats a warm welcome – it was no kind thing.

Finn walked down the empty halls of William McKinley for school had let out, passing the locker rooms he heard soft sniffles. His attention caught, he leaned in to see Kurt himself sitting on a bench in tears. Whatever had happened, it had been enough to hurt him.

"Kurt?" Finn asked, stepping into the room.

'Yeah, Finn?' Kurt asked through his tears, wiping them away again. His cheeks were rosier than ever and his pale skin caused a stark contrast.

"What's wrong?" Finn questioned, "What happened?" He added, now teetering awkwardly toward Kurt like the freakishly tall giant he was.

"Karofsky." He whispered, staring ahead, eyes glassy.

"What did he do?" Finn questioned, for some reason rage was silently building up inside of him.

"He slammed me against the lockers and threatened my life again." Kurt said, voice hoarse and cracking. His eyes met with Finn's, his lips tight.

"Finn, I'm scared." He admitted, hands in his lap. Finn couldn't blame him. He could only imagine what it must be like to life in fear for you life for being you.

"He's not going to hurt you." Finn reassured his soon-to-be-brother.

"How can you say that? He's alrea—"

"Karofsky isn't going to hurt you." Finn repeated, a tone of finality tinting his voice. Clapping Kurt on the back, Finn sighed. "If he does, Kurt. He'll have to go through me." He said, looking over to his soon-to—no, his brother.

"T-Thank you so much Finn…I thought you were ashamed of me." Kurt stammered, wiping at his eyes to rid himself of what tears were left. Finn shifted at the words – feeling stung.

"I was. But, it's different now. Why should I be ashamed of someone who is just like me? Despite the fact he likes boys. What does that matter? You could be blue, Kurt, I wouldn't care." Finn said, sighing.

Kurt smiled to his brother, he couldn't ask for anyone else.

"C'mon, let's get you home…brother."
