"Family photo time!" called out Hermione and listened with satisfaction as she heard the sound of thundering feet. All her children were home for winter vacations, she and Draco had now been married for sixteen years and were blessed with seven beautiful children, all named after constellations as was the Black family tradition.

First down were the triplets looking like they had taken a bath in grape juice, even when Hermione had expressly told them not to dirty the brand new clothes they had just received as a gift from their grandmother. They were not even seven and they were already causing her and Draco to have daily heart-attacks; Caelum was the ringleader, taking his nice, well-behaved twin sisters and turning them into rowdy hoodlums. All three of them looked exactly like Draco, with sharp silvery blond hair and wild gray eyes, Cassiopeia was the gentle princess of the group, crying often and clinging to her parents, Carina was the planner, any prank, any mischief all was orchestrated by Carina and Caelum was their fearless leader; he was greatly inspired by his uncle Harry often enacting Harry and Hermione's adventures with his sisters.

Next came Orion; his face stuck in a book as usual, his curly golden –brown hair catching the sunlight, he looked up and flashed his mother one of his heart-stopping grins with a single winking dimple, his gray eyes glinting with laughter and love. He was growing up so fast she thought with a sigh as she looked at her son who was in the fourth year of Hogwarts. Orion was the perfect mix of Draco and Hermione; both in looks and in behavior, he had Draco's mischievous streak and Hermione's studious nature. Already ahead in all his courses at Hogwarts Orion was just thirteen, he was a year ahead of his classmates, like his mother he was sorted into Gryffindor much to his father's disappointment. Orion also played seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team and he had the best coaches in his father and his uncle Harry.

Vela her beautiful daughter danced down the steps after her older brother, she was tiny just like her mother with long blonde ringlets that bounced with each step, she shared her father's brooding intensity. She was also a mama's pet and a daddy's girl just like all her brothers and sisters. With her lovely blonde curls and her large amber eyes she was growing up to be a total heartbreaker.

"I saw the new horse's mama!" cried Vela looking at her mother with eyes shining, "Oh they are lovely!" Vela was mad about riding and dance, at eleven she was a competitive rider and in Hufflepuff house. It had taken Draco some time to adjust but in the end he had come around. His pretty little daughter just didn't have the aggressive Slytherin gene; she was gentle and kind and preferred the company of horses over people.

Hermione had a deal with Draco, that each one of their children would end up in one of the four different houses.

Last came her angel … now fifteen, Scorpius carrying baby Ara who looked up at his brother with an awestruck expression, with the new break –through in medicine Scorpius was talking, learning. He went to a school close by not like Draco and Hermione's other children but he was happy and bright and that was what mattered most to Hermione. He was studying to become a therapist for other children with his illness; he wanted to work in Draco and Hermione's medical foundation as a healer. Since Scorpius couldn't go to Hogwarts, Hermione worked with him every day to harness his magical abilities, they focused on healing and Scorpius was on the same level as a Saint Mungo's first year intern. Though he was very good with the healing spells, he still had difficulty with basic spells like Stupefy. They were working on it though.

"Hi mama…" he said shyly smiling, handing her the baby boy.

"Hi angel." She whispered to her first baby, pressing him close for a hug. Vela bound towards her eldest brother, chattering excitedly about the new hoses, Orion gathered the triplets and led them away from the photographers camera and came up to his mother, throwing his arm around her and his elder brother, joking about this new muggle book that he and Scorpius had just begun to read.

Hermione looked at her family lovingly, they were perfect….

"Daddy's home!" shrieked Caelum letting go of his mother's skirt and running forward, his sisters followed jumping up and down like mad things. All her children went nuts when their father came home, thought Hermione with a sigh.

There stood Draco; still as handsome as ever just older, he looked so natural with the triplets dancing around his legs demanding his attention, Vela snuggling up to her father; adoration bright in her eyes as she thanked him for the new horses, Scorpius and Orion both greeting him like their best friend.

And then he looked at her; his eyes the same, holding a message as enduring as time itself… Love…

Hermione hugged Ara closer to her and walked forward to greet her husband, her eyes as always taking in with happiness his each movement, how he joked with the triplets, how he even after all these years greeted Scorpius as 'baby boy', how he teased Orion about Slytherin winning the house cup, how he took the baby from her arms and brought her close, kissing her softly on her forehead.

"Hello my love." He whispered into her ear softly, his voice barely legible above Orion's loud protests.

"Back to the mad house." Hermione said giggling softly.

"I'd give up being in paradise to be with you guys." He joked.

"Is the family ready?" called the photographer.

"Come on guys, your mum worked hard to put this together, let's be nice and get a good picture clicked." Draco said, gathering their children into some semblance of order.

But as usual the picture came out as anything but perfect, the triplets were making funny faces at the camera, Orion was having a wrestling match with Scorpius, Vela was looking of dreamily into space, Ara chose that moment to throw up on Draco. It was chaos and Hermione loved it!

This was her family, her slightly eccentric, wild family and she thought they were perfect… just perfect!

Of-course Hermione won her bet, Caelum and Carina ended up in Slytherin much to Draco's happiness, Cassiopeia followed her elder sister into Hufflepuff; her love for plants and growing things making her an instant favorite, Ara went into Ravenclaw, his studious nature and his almost genius I.Q sent him hurtling through his courses and before he was fifteen he had read all the books in Hogwarts and aced all his courses, he chose to join his older brother Scorpius in working with Hermione and Draco's medical foundation and Draco soon gave them the foundation as a gift.

Orion followed in his father's footsteps and became the head-boy, under his tenure Hogwarts experienced a number of changes inspired by what Hermione had told him about the muggle schooling system.

Vela, Cassiopeia, Carina, Caelum all became prefects, making their parents proud, Carina was also made the first Slytherin house Quidditch captain who was a woman, Caelum became head-boy dedicating his life to making things easier for mischief-makers and pranksters.

All in all the Malfoy children lived happy, fulfilled lives; knowing of the darkness that brought their parents together but never experiencing it. They had their share of up and downs, obstacles that threatened to tear the family apart but all was solved because of the immense love shared between them.
