Happy News Everyone!

I finished this story three and a half years ago. While I am pleased with the tale, I have grown a lot as an author since then. But I love this story so much! So I decided to slowly work my way through and rewrite the whole story. I am going to work hard in the next 2 months to re-write this story as much as I possibly can. I have no idea how much the story will change. Will it just be the writing? Will some characters disappear, new ones appear, new plot twists, new romance, maybe a little more death? I have no idea.

I do know that I will be focusing on 2 things. First would be my writing itself. I am hoping to flesh out every scene and do my best to capture the characters' motivations, rather than just throw them in your face. Second, I am going to mellow the emotions down. There are times when my niave little 14 year old is acting like an experienced woman of 25 (see any "lemon" scene). While I am not sure when the story will go up I do have the title for you, as well as a glipse at my rewriting.

"Another Hogwart's Riddle"

I used to think that "The Dark Lord's Daugter" was such an original title. But it wasn't. It really really wasn't. I think this one is a little better. What about you?

Anyway here is the preview ~ Happy 2018 everyone, and thank you for your support over the years.

Prologue Chapter 1

Unusual Beginnings

Bellatrix felt the glorious burn on her arm and instantly apparated to her Lord's side. As she knelt before him, she saw another person disappear, but did not care to see who it was. All she needed to know she was kneeling near her Lord. She could see his shoes next to the black wood of his throne. Time passed slowly, quietly, and she felt herself start to shake with the excitement and anticipation. Finally, she heard her own name. It slipped off his tongue and rolled down her spine.

"Yes my Lord?" Her eyes still glued to his shoes, not daring to look up.

"It would seem that some of the Death Eaters fear I may fall in battle." Bellatrix couldn't help indignation that slipped from her throat as her eyes looked up to him. To think they would ever dare doubt his power! Her eyes met his, a smirk slipped across his mouth and she immediately looked down again, expecting... then not receiving a punishment for her slip up. "I, too, was in shock at such doubts. However, for the sake of their belief, I have decided to create a counter-measure should I ever find myself felled."

"My Lord, please do not say such things!"

His chuckle was cold, and she shut her eyes to breathe deeply. "For the sake of this counter-measure, I have determined I would need a child."

He paused, and she smirked at the ground below her. "Would you like me to fetch one? I can think of a few families whose bloodlines need to be eliminated. Or perhaps you want a live one? I can find a willing sacrifice, I am sure."

"Bellatrix. You may stand." It was jarring. What had she done to deserve this? Despite her belief in him, she slowly stood, bracing herself for any pain. But it did not come. "You misunderstand me Bellatrix." He waited for her to look at him, his smirk now a sneer. "I need a child born of my own blood."

Pain squeezed around her heart. She gasped, and wondered if she would be allowed to kill the woman after she had sated her Lord's needs. Red coated her vision, plugged her ears, until she felt the pain of Cruciatus rush through her muscles. She fell to the ground, barely noting the hard ground. When he finally lifted the curse, she lay there for a moment, gasping. Slowly, she forced herself to stand, her knees knocking together. But she grit her teeth and steadied them. She could feel his eyes watching her, judging her. "Bellatrix, I have always known of your... lust... for me." And he found her lacking. She could hear the disdain that her body could control her mind. Perhaps she had been too obvious at the last meeting. "You have served me well, and I hope that you will continue to serve me faithfully."

A glimmer of hope, it seemed to stain her heart, and it hurt almost as much as before. "My lord?"

"Bellatrix. On this night, we will create a child of my flesh. You will have one opportunity. This will never happen again." Bellatrix could feel her head nodding up and down, but her eyes were locked on his face. She desperately searched for some indication that this was a test. That he was only testing her loyalty. But then he stood.

"Come. I have a potion prepared to insure the birth of my child."

Bellatrix' tongue went numb, but her legs followed her Lord faithfully from the room. Her mind was still twisting in circles trying to fight the hope, to kill it, yet trying to make it flourish at the same time. Then the door closed behind her.
