Chapter 34

I really want to apologize for updating this so late, my laptop died on me twice so I lost all my previous data. Together with the pressure of being in final year and writer's block, it ended with me never being able to update. I didn't know what to write and I hope this chapter is still interesting .I really appreciate all the reviews, favourites and follows even though I haven't updated for year and it really made me guilty to keep you guys waiting. Once again I'm really sorry for the late update

He was lazing care freely on his hammock strung between two trees, on his own private beach when the peaceful sound of the waves was broken by the obnoxious ringing of his cell phone.

Groaning in annoyance he reached for the device at the small stand by his hammock, as he grabbed the device he somehow managed to flip out of it and land flat on his face.

"Pwah! Hello?" The greeting was coughed out in between spitting out sand.

"Fuffuffuffuff...did you eat sand while answering the phone...again?"

"Are you hanging above me again Doffy? I told you to quit spying on me!" Sunglass covered eyes darted to the sky

"Fuffuffuffuff...I'm still in the midst of travelling to your cozy abode but it's almost an every time thing, I call, you eat sand while trying to answer the phone. Besides how long have I known you? I wouldn't be called your older brother if I don't even know how clumsy you are." Doflamingo cackled

"I'm flattered," the other shot back, as he continued trying to remove every grain of sand from his mouth

"Don't be so harsh Corazon, after all..." the line went dead puzzling man before a pink ball dropped out of the sky

"I came to tell you about Law and his mate," the older chucked

Corazon blinked at his brother "Could you say that again Doffy I think I heard you wrongly,"

"What are you deaf now? Fuffuffuffuff, I said I came to you about Law and his mate,"

Wait for it…..

"WHATTTT?! Since when did Law have a mate?"Corazon literally shouted, his jaw dropping his eyes almost popping out

"Since I sent him to college,"

"Since when did you send him to college?!" Corazon was getting more and more shocked with each passing second

"This is getting us nowhere Corazon fuffuffuffuff, if you even bothered to call regularly you would have known, perhaps you should move back in," Doflamingo grinned

"And be jumped by you every day? No thanks," the younger muttered

"I forgot to mention that Killer found his mate too~"

It was official; Corazon has never in his life felt so much shock and surprise in one day no scratch that, less than 5 minutes.

"I can't believe this..." He sighed, running a hand through his tousled blonde locks as he sat back onto his hammock.

"Coming all the way here to tell me about this is not like you at all, so what's your other motive Doffy?" Corazon eyed his brother suspiciously

"Fuffuffuffuffu Lawsy and his little mate are here in West Blue so I was thinking..."

"Let's go!" Corazon didn't wait for Doflamingo to finish speaking, he was already up and walking away

"Do you even know where to go?" Doflamingo called after his brother

Corazon stiffened slowly he turned back laughing sheepishly, "So...Where are we going?"

Corazon always had strong attachment to Law; after all he was the one that begged Doflamingo to change Law to save him, several decades ago.

"Doffy please! I can't bear to see him die!"

"Humans die all the time Roci what's so different about this boy that you ask this of me?" Blue orbs gazed at the limp body in his brother's arms; the human was young, early twenties maybe and barely alive.

"He lived half of his life not even living properly," Corazon replied softly, "He should not have to suffer so young and he's alone, there's no one else, his own parents abandoned him!"

"There's a war going on Cora, these things happen to humans when they start pointless fights and why do I have to do it?"

"Doffy you know my blood is not strong enough to make a strong vampire and there's no point in creating a vampire if it's going to be weak," the younger snorted, "He reminded me of us when we were young...Alone, minds only filled with anger and hatred."

Doflamingo stiffened with those words, teeth clenched and hands balled up into fists as painful memories surfaced. Taking in a deep breath to calm himself, he gazed back at the limp human and sighed.

"Fine I'll do it, let see how this goes then,"

"Doffy has a brother?!" Luffy looked up from his corn dog in surprise

"Cora-san doesn't like to stay around Doflamingo, so he stays in West Blue instead, but he visits every once in a while," Law replied, watching his mate continue to chomp down on the food, after turning into a vampire he would have thought that the human appetite would be gone but it's still there, Luffy's love for food is stronger than ever.

The pair had just boarded the Ferris wheel which Luffy had dragged them to. The topic on Corazon came up when Luffy had suddenly asked about Law's past. However the other admitted that he didn't remember much about his human life, only that it was filled with anger, hatred and sorrow.

He remembered befriending Corazon which was strange considering he didn't like anyone. Well at the beginning he didn't like Corazon either, pushing the other away as much as possible. However Corazon is nothing if not persistent and eventually got Law to open up to him.

Later he was badly injured when the village where he lived became a target of an air strike during war. Law was barely conscious when he felt himself being lifted up from the ground and a voice that he vaguely recognized as Corazon's telling him to hang on and not to die on him.

He was tired, all he wanted to do was sleep, the moment he relaxed, he was brought back by a sharp stinging pain before something horribly metallic tasting was forced down his slackened mouth. Then everything went black.

When he woke, he was disorientated and confused. The word "vampire" was new to him; he was terrified of this new life and didn't know what to do. Corazon tried his best to teach Law but being the klutz he is even Law admitted that he wasn't doing a very good job.

From then on Doflamingo took on the teaching role, accepting inputs from both his mate Vergo and Corazon, gradually Law had gained confidence to live his new life without having being told what to do and eventually according to Vergo, too much confidence.

The first few years of his new life were the best, he hasn't felt that kind of freedom before and he spent a lot of time travelling and experiencing new things and learning about the world.

"So you stayed with Doffy because he saved your life?" Luffy's question jolted him out of his trip down memory lane.

"I wouldn't say that's the only reason I suppose, a few decades after I was turned, Drake joined us, then from then on our family just kept growing bigger and not to mention weirder too,"

Luffy fell silent as he gazed outside of the window, he leaned his body onto his mate while Law looped his arm around the other to bring him closer

"Hmmm, ne Law can I meet that Corazon person?" Luffy asked as they exited the Ferris wheel, the sky already a deep dark shade of orange.

"You want to meet him?" Surprise found Law at the request

"He was the reason that I could meet you today so I want to thank him!" Luffy grinned, it made Law's chest flutter

"We'll see if we got time today alright?" The elder replied but before Luffy could voice a reply a loud crash caught their attention

Both males turn their head in the direction of the ruckus just in time to see someone tumble into a food stall and face plant onto the floor.

"Would you watch where you're going?!" The owner yelled, Law couldn't help but notice the peculiar style his hair was in, it was in the shape of a number 3.

"Fuffuffuffuff still tripping over your own feet I see,"

Law could feel his eyebrow twitch erratically as he viewed the two oversized blondes.

"Doffy!" Luffy grinned

"What are you doing here?" Law groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger.

"And I thought you'll be happy to see Corazon,"

"I am happy to see Cora-san, it's you I don't want to see," Law growled, "And you guys attract way too much attention wherever you go."

"Fuffuffuffu, I'm hurt Law..." Doflamingo snickered, feigning a hurt expression.

"Cora-san are yo-" Law was abruptly cut off by the blonde as he leaped back up on his feet

"Law..." Corazon's voice radiated hint of anger and disappointment which made the said male swallow a lump forming in his throat, "Why didn't you tell me that you found your-mff!"

"Fuffuffu, now now... Don't go running your mouth in such places dear brother, how about we go somewhere more private hm?" Doflamingo had muffled Corazon's speech with a well aimed hot dog which he snagged from the food stall Corazon had run into.

Luffy was laughing so hard at the whole scene, the vampire who was glaring at his supposed brother with a burning gaze with a hot dog sticking out of his mouth and Law sighing while shaking his head at the two blondes in front of him, he regretted not leaving these two idiots when he first got turned.

"I don't understand how I missed all the action," Corazon frowned as Law accounted all the events that had happened so far.

The blonde felt like everything seems to be coming out from some kind of drama series on television.

He couldn't believe that not only did Killer and Law find their mates, Doflamingo even created another one and he was a teacher, their teacher! The guy even found his mate in the same day, which was almost unheard off; immortals may take decades if not centuries to find their mates.

There was a limit to coincidences happening.

"Well you wouldn't have if you didn't live so far away," Law muttered

All three of them were sitting in Corazon's living room after Law decided he didn't want to deal with the possibility of having Doflamingo murdered in broad daylight, that would be nice but not here, they had attracted too many human eyes to be discreet anymore.

"Law I thought you said your mate is a vampire now," Blue eyes darted to his kitchen where the raven teen was ransacking his fridge.

"He is, but he's retained his love for food I suppose," Law shrugged

"There's nothing to eat in the fridge!" Luffy whined,

"That's because we don't exactly need to eat!" Corazon huffed,

"Says the one who's drinking tea," Luffy muttered, closing the fridge and plopping down beside Law

"Don't worry Luffy-ya we'll get something on the way home," Law replied his mouth curved upwards in a small smile, while ruffling the raven's hair gently.

Corazon spat out the tea he was drinking surprising everyone. When shot a questioning look he merely mumbled something about the tea being too hot behind the rim of this cup.

Over the decades he had spent with Law he could count the number of times the other had smiled like that with just one hand and here he was smiling to Luffy so easily. Finding your mate really does change a person huh?

"See Corazon, you should totally move in back with us," Doflamingo grinned

"No thanks but I'll drop in to visit soon, I'll like to see everyone including the poor soul you condemned to joining our family,"

"I think everyone who joined the family is a poor soul," Law muttered

"Come over tonight Corazon, Smoker is bring that little spit fire of his over, perfect opportunity to visit," Doflamingo grinned

"Ace is coming?" Luffy yelled, his eyes practically shining with anticipation

Slate grey eyes narrowed at the blonde's words, he knew the irritating basted for too long.
"You planned this whole shit right from the beginning didn't you?"

"I planned this whole shit from the moment I saw you and Luffy leaving for the West Blue," Doflamingo corrected with a grin.

A defeated sigh left Law, he just could not keep up to Doflamingo's ability to scheme, the bastard probably spends most of his time scheming up new ways to get under other people's skin, while the other half of his life putting his ideas to "good" use

Law is damn sure that if he wasn't immortal, he would have been annoyed to death by Doflamingo.

"Well... I don't see why not," Corazon sighed, "I'll head back with you guys later to meet the unfortunate souls."

"Brother?!" Eutass Kid paled and Smoker gaped at the sight of the other blonde standing beside Doflamingo

That guy has a brother? Oh my god, dealing with one was bad enough, now I have to deal with two of them? I'm so screwed.
The same thought passed through both their minds, but as if sensing their horror, Corazon chuckled softly.

"Don't worry, I don't randomly jump people like that idiot,"

"Yeah compared to Doflamingo, Corazon is a complete klutz," Killer sniggered

"Oi..."

"Like tripping over nothing," Bonney added

"Hey!"

"Setting his own coat on fire the last time he tried to light a cigarette," Drake continued

"Also-" Killer's words were cut off by a furious shout from Corazon.

" Don't say such unnecessary things!"

The vampire's hot glare was dulled by the burning of his ears and cheeks. No one seems to be affected by the empty threats being thrown around by Corazon and laughter filled the house.

"This is why I prefer living with less people, you guys just have fun at my expense," the blonde muttered, turning to Smoker

"Sometimes I'm sure I'm the only normal one here. Well to you I wish you good luck dealing with these people and welcome to the dysfunctional family."

"Just by having a five minute conversation with you, I already know you're not as...well...overly obsessed with meddling with other people's life so I think you're fine but thanks, I'm going to need every ounce of luck I can get," Smoker huffed.

"Hey I need some luck too so don't hog all of it," Kid muttered

Looking around as the room burst into laughter, Law couldn't help but give a small smile, the family has not only gotten bigger and weirder but also warmer. Looks like his life wouldn't be as boring as it used to be all because he met his mate.

Honestly the ending makes it seem like the end of the story, which might just be possibly so. As I have no idea how to continue from here lol

But if any one wants to request a pairing for a story or just a plot they want it in just PM me, I might do it depending on the pairing, might help reignite the spark for writing that i really miss.
