Chapter One

(Doctor's Perspective)

The TARDIS made a rumbling sound again. It gave another violent jolt, which would've sent it's passengers flying across the room if they hadn't been holding on for dear life.

"Are you sure you know what you're doing?!" Amy cried, clutching tightly to the Doctor's revolving chair.

"Relax, this is perfectly normal!" The Doctor yelled back.

"It's not normal, is it?" Amy groaned.

"Um, no, it's definitely norm - okay, it's not normal." The Doctor shook his head. "You see, the TARDIS just isn't usually this... bumpy. There has to be something wrong... or maybe she's just in a bad mood."

"If so, then this is one big tantrum..." Amy muttered. The TARDIS jolted again, and Amy screamed as the chair she was clinging to started spinning around.

And suddenly, the rumbling went quiet, and the TARDIS stopped moving altogether. The Doctor and Amy stayed frozen for a few seconds, too shocked to move.

"Well," The Doctor said. "It stopped." He grinned at Amy and ran over to the doors. Amy ran up to him just as he swung the doors open.

"This is... interesting," Amy said as they stepped out. They were surrounded by foliage, but the floor beneath them and the walls showed that it must be some sort of spaceship.

The Doctor took out his sonic screwdriver and scanned the ground. "Hmm... it's a spaceship... but it seems to be made out of some sort of organic material."

"Oh my God! Doctor, what is that?"

"What is what?" The Doctor turned around only to come face to face with a small, furry creature with huge eyes. The Doctor pointed his screwdriver at it, and it squealed and backed away.

"It's a Norn," The Doctor said as he examined the screwdriver. "They're harmless."

"They're kinda cute," Amy said, poking at one of them. "Did they make this ship?"

"Oh, no," The Doctor said. "Their intelligence is much too low to do things like that. I would imagine whoever did make the ship keeps them as pets."

"Let's just hope that person is friendly," Amy said.
