Prologue: The Event

It all began with a rather normal night for Hazy Shower or what his friends and family called him Haze, was the youngest foal of the family. His brother Moonlight Dusk being 2 years older then him, both were pegasi but he was born in raised in ponyvile despite this. The foal life was rather normal day to day. He had recently got his cutie mark, learned to fly, made plenty friends from Cheerliees class and had a crush on a unicorn in Cheerilee's class named Citrus Prize. Today was rather dull and boring, nothing interesting happened all day! Only thing that was interesting was that sugarcube corner had a large bake sale filled with sugary treats that was made by Pinkie Pie, boy did he ever pig out resulting in a big sugar rush and a bad tummy-ache that he still had. He groans as he held his aching tummy a bit as he struggled to study and do the homework cheerilee gave him after school, he was hoping to get it done cause if he got a A mark on it his mother will take him to a carnival that was outside south of ponyville after school tomorrow but the large suger rush from the bake sale was wearing off and the foal was starting to have a burnout. After Haze finally got the last question finished he groggily walked his bed before slumping on it, the dark tan pegasus foal quickly falling into a deep sleep despite still having a tummy-ache.

Haze groaned as he slowly awoke, he yawned as he slipped out of bed. He brushed his teeth, washed and packed up his homework along with his school supplies for school in his saddle bags before heading down for breakfast that's when it hit him, it was quiet! To quiet, his mom and dad were usually up and about getting ready for work or cooking breakfast but there was utter silence. He headed downstairs and find that everything was not touched since last night, the feeling of something was terribly wrong filled him and he rushed to his parents room, he finding it was empty. The covers looked someone had been sleeping in them but it was like his parents just up and disappeared from under them during the night, he ran to his brothers room and found him sleeping in his bed. The foal was relieved his brother didn't disappear as well. The foal jumped on him and shook him awake before telling him about his parents mysterious disappearance in a panic, Moonlight thinking his brother was just overreacting checked his parents room and he too was filled with panic and fear when he found it was empty was just as his brother said.

Then they heard the crying and panicked cries coming from outside of their house, both foals while were afraid headed outside to see what was the source and what they saw both filled then with even more fear and panic, across the town hundreds of foals like them of various ages but none were older then 18 were wandering the streets. They either crying, calling out for their parents, or keeping the younger foals of their families comforted but it was easy to tell they were just as scared. It seems that the adults ponies across ponyville or even the whole of equestria just up and vanished during the night and the foals were somehow spared from this fate and were left to survive in this new adult-less world.
