Welcome Home

Later in the afternoon after Harry had woken again, Arcturus spoke with Harry about coming to live with him. To which Harry then explained his plan to live in his new tent. Making the choice to not let Arcturus know of his poor living conditions.

"It's so that I can be able to hide my magic better."

Arcturus' eyebrows rose once he heard this knew better than to ask as he was patient, he'd wait for Harry to tell him.

"Now we must go over the banking details for your vault, but not today, you have been through a lot and should rest before looking into such exhausting matters as this. I have made an appointment with Stormclaw for Aug 4th. We are also waiting for the response from the Flamel's, with your LeStrange Heirship it is to go through the Goblins as the Current Heir is in Azkaban."

Arcturus reached into his robe pocket and pulled out an envelope that had Harry's heritage results inside.

"To say that it was a surprise to myself when your birth name is Haydin and Harry is just a nickname. Would you mind if I were to call you by Haydin rather than Harry?"

"No I wouldn't mind you calling me Haydin. I want to go by the name by parents gave me."

Haydin took the parchment from Arcturus.

"What does blood adoption mean?"

"Blood adoption is when a person becomes a blood relative of the child being adopted and it allows the family blood and magic to be passed on. Why do you ask?"

"Well it says that my Sworn Godfather is also blood adopted me," Haydin answered.

"Who is your Godfather?" Arcturus questioned.

"It says Sirius Black, is he related to you?" Haydin looked towards Arcturus who'd become pale.

"Are you positive he is your Sworn Godfather and that he blood adopted you?" Arcturus breathed out.

"Yes, here take a look, it even says here that he was incarcerated, detained without trial." Haydin held out the envelope.

Arcturus grasped the envelope with shaking hands and read the contents of the Heritage test.

"We must rectify this as soon as possible! To think a Black imprisoned without a conviction, and that they're innocent at that. I'm going to rip the Ministry apart and have whoevers head who has allowed this injustice come to pass. You must understand Haydin, this man, he was to raise you should anything happen to your parents. However someone it seems to think that they can take control of you, they had you raised outside of the magical world when you were an heir apparent, now heir, and have duties and responsibilities that you need to learn to be able to take control of your lordship.

Someone must be plotting against you, for when a lordship goes too long without a head, the family magic start to fade and the title becomes dormant. Should the lordship be dormant for too long, any distantly related families are able to lay claim to anything that they have a family connection to where they would have the power to absorb it into their own family making the original family extinct." Arcturus said in an indignant tone that someone would plot against any relative of his.

Haydin steadily became pale at hearing Arcturus speak. He could have lost all his family had worked for, had he not thought to make an inquiry on how to connect his bank accounts he would still be clueless about all of this!

Arcturus stood up, "Are you able to continue on with our day?"

Haydin looked up at Arcturus and felt the inspiration to move past all the pain and exhaustion. "Yes, I want to start learning about my responsibilities and duties so that I am able to perform them with ease." As he was speaking he stood up and got ready to leave.

As they were leaving the bank Arcturus began to explain to Haydin what they needed to do.

"First we need to go to your Aunt's home to retrieve anything that she may have received for caring for you over the years, she must also sign over any power and rights that she may have over you in the non-magical world to myself so that I may take over your guardianship and welfare. Then we need to get you situated at your new home, and of course show you around. Finally, we will then focus on your learning, getting your Father out of Azkaban. How does that sound Haydin?" Arcturus looked towards Haydin to get the boy's opinion.

Haydin's stomach dropped, and to him felt like it was filled with lead upon hearing that they were going to the Dursley's house. He relaxed a bit when Arcturus continued explaining, and was torn between looking forward to staying with the man, or terrified that the man would find out how he'd grown up.

Eventually after some thought, Haydin gave a small head nod to the man that he was okay with everything the man explained what they would do. He knew that to move on from this point that he wouldn't be able to avoid seeing the Dursley's, at least this would hopefully be the last time that he ever had to see them again.

Shortly after agreeing to the plan of action, Haydin found himself being introduced to apparition. The wizarding form of instant travelling. To Haydin the upside was teleportation to anywhere he wanted, the downside was the ghastly feeling of being in a space smaller than physically smaller than yourself.

While Haydin was recovering from his first ever apparition Arcturus looked over the neighbourhood, which he found was lacking in many ways. There was no big differences to the other homes, and that there was not enough privacy at all were two glaringly distasteful facts.

Once Haydin recovered enough to continue on and looked at the same old neighbourhood, while thinking, 'How anyone can anyone stand living in such monotony?'

When they arrived at the Dursley home Haydin knocked on the door so that the Durley's would hopefully put on a show for Arcturus. He didn't have much hope with his uncle, but he still wanted to avoid it as much as possible.

Arcturus was instantly on alert when he saw this, he knew from earlier that there was something wrong, no 11 year old boy wanted to live in a tent instead of going to their family during their vacations when they went to Hogwarts.

There was a loud thumping sound from inside the house and as the noise got closer you could hear someone grumbling about something. Harry dreaded the door opening when he heard this.

The door opened to reveal Haydin's uncle who was turning a dark red colour upon opening his front door and seeing his Freak nephew was the one who'd knocked on the door that had interrupted his dinner that he'd had to order as the Freak hadn't there to make it.

"YOU WORTHLESS FREELOADING FREAK! WE TOOK YOU INTO OUR HOME OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF OUR HEARTS AND YOU REPAY US BY DOING NOTHING OF WHAT WE'VE EVER ASKED YOU TO DO FOR US. BECAUSE OF YOU WE HAD TO SPEND MONEY TO GET OFF THAT SHACK ON THAT BLOODY ROCK WHEN YOU WERE THE REASON THAT WE WENT THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE AND YOU LEFT US THERE ALONE. THEN YOU COME BACK ALL HAUGHTY FROM GOING SHOPPING FOR YOUR FREAK SCHOOL AND ACT LIKE YOU'RE BETTER THAN US! THEN YOU LEAVE OUR BREAKFAST OUT THIS MORNING TO GO COLD TO THE POINT WE COULDN'T EAT IT! THEN AFTER I GET HOME FROM A LONG DAY AT WORK EXPECTING DINNER READY ON THE TABLE TO EAT TO FIND NOTHING, I THEN HAVE TO PAY TO ORDER FOOD WHICH TAKES OVER AN HOUR TO GET HERE ONLY TO BE INTERRUPTED BY YOU!" By the end of his tirade Vernon was gasping and wheezing for air.

"Excuse me, I have never seen such utter foolishness- To berate a child for being just that, a child." Arcturus smoothly and sharply reprimanded Vernon with his words and the look of pure disgust on his face.

"Children are to be admonished and a matching punishment be given for any wrongdoing so that they learn from their mistakes. They are never to be berated or insulted for doing anything wrong or from what I've heard, perceived wrongs-"

Arcturus started verbally skinning Haydin's uncle, but Haydin had lost track of the conversation there, he was shocked and amazed. The only other person he'd ever seen stand up to Uncle Vernon was Hagrid. And even then, it wasn't for Haydin who Hagrid had stood up for, it was Albus Dumbledore who his uncle had insulted that Hagrid had gotten angry over.

Arcturus was doing this for Haydin! This was something that no one had ever done or even tried to do for him before.

Haydin's mind was brought back to the present when Arcturus mentioned his name.

"-Haydin will be coming to stay with me. We are here for his aunt to sign over all rights and responsibilities over to myself, and to retrieve anything that was given to you while he was in your care." Arcturus finished standing tall. Uncle Vernon stood in the doorway pale face with his mouth bobbing like a fish. He wondered just what exactly Arcturus had said to Uncle Vernon to put him in such a state.

"Are you ever going to find your manners to step aside so that Haydin and I may go and fetch his things, get the paperwork signed and then be free of your presence." Arcturus spoke after a few moments of politely waiting with nothing happening.

Pale and now shaking Uncle Vernon wordlessly opened the door fully and let them inside, when they were inside he quickly closed the door and waddled off back towards the kitchen as quickly as he could.

Amused Haydin led Arcturus up the stairs into Dudley's second bedroom that he was now staying in.

At seeing the state of the room Arcturus' face soured and looked very displeased, taking a look over the remaining shabby and partially broken items that Haydin had not done while he had been practicing his magic the night prior. Nonetheless he withdrew his wand swishing it about for a few moments. Immediately they could hear screaming, shrieks, and shouting coming from downstairs. They soon began to see numerous items floating towards them.

To Haydin's shock there were quite a few heirlooms that his aunt treasured. The snowglobe that was passed down in their family, jewelry, pictures, china, books, letters, and even a trunk!

After a minute or so, things stopped coming and the ruckus downstairs quieted down to the loud thumping of his relatives thundering up the stairs.

"Rozie." Arcturus called out calmly.

There was a soft pop.

"What can Rozie be doing for Master?" A being that was actually shorter than Haydin, standing at a 2ft and 7in with spindly arms and legs and oversized heads and eyes. They have pointed, bat-like ears and high, squeaky voice. Rather than conventional clothing, the being named Rozie was wearing an embroidered pillowcases.

"Take all of these items to be placed and sorted in young Haydin's room." Arcturus responded to Rozie.

And with a snap Rozie and everything in the room disappeared.

Arcturus then turned to the doorway to where the Dursley's were crowding huffing and puffing with anger.

"YOU! HOW DARE YOU STEAL OUR HARD EARNED ITEMS!" Vernon roared out.

"We have done nothing of the sort. The spell only calls the items that belong to only Haydin or were passed down to him. As such you calling the items yours, would that not make you the thief?" Arcturus again calmly replied.

That comment made Vernon splutter, "They were given to us to look after the boy!"

"From my understanding you would have been given a monthly stipend from the trust and from the MoM child services department like all of the other orphan's guardians do. Is that not payment enough?"

"We've never received a single pound for the urchin!" Vernon quickly said while his face went a blotchy red.

"I'll be investigating that, should I find anything wrong I shall be taking the matter up with my barrister." Arcturus said nonchalantly. "Now Mrs. Dursley, come sign these documents giving all rights and responsibilities over to me." He said while holding out a sheaf of papers.

Aunt Petunia was shaking as she quickly started signing them, when everything was signed she thrust the paperwork at Arcturus, "Take the Freak and get out! Never darken our doorstep again!"

"Come over here Haydin and hold tightly to my hand. We're leaving." Haydin hurriedly and firmly took ahold of the offered hand. As soon as Haydin had a firm grasp on his hand, he gave a small turn and with a soft pop they both disappeared. Leaving the Dursley family gawking at the spot where they'd stood.

Once Haydin had gotten over the sensation of apparition, he looked around at his surroundings. He immediately saw a large stone manor built on the top of a hill with a cliff off to the far side where the sun was setting bathing the manor in beautiful hues of reds, oranges, and pinks. The stone of the manor was smooth from years of rain, the hill that the manor stood on was a nice healthy grassy plain that had beautiful gardens all around the house. And around the bottom of the hill was a forest that had a walkway to a town he guessed, which also lead up to the manor.

"It's amazing." Haydin breathed out in a soft amazed voice.

"Welcome Home Haydin."
