Chapter 9: Who?

"A what?"

"Seriously Len? Are you becoming deaf?" Kageito asked slightly worried.

"Do I look like one?" Len looked at Kageito with a blank face, deep inside he was actually pissed off. He tried shifting his position but it was useless, his school uniform might rip off.

"You weren't able to hear what I've just sai—"

"For heaven's sake Kageito. I've heard what you've just said." Len spat. He was already ticking off. His face was beat red. "I-it's just…"

"Just...?" Kageito grinned.

"It's just… because…" Len quickly averted his gaze to a floating teapot, who was surprised with Len's sudden gaze. The teapot quickly flees.

"Just?" Kageito leaned a little bit closer, anticipating Len's expression and answer.

Len wanted to leave. NOW. He didn't care about anything, even if he rips off his uniform. He could buy a new one. He quickly stood up and slammed his palms in the desk. "T-that thought is completely nuts!" he said then quickly exited the door.

Darn right it was embarrassing.

When Len got out from Kageito's dimension, his room greeted him. His plain yet spacious room filled with silence and darkness, only the moon's luminosity served as the room's light. He sighed and let himself crash into his king size bed. He was about to enter the sleeping state when a faint knock from his door took place.

"Master Len, dinner is served," a familiar voice filled the silent room. Len didn't bother to stand up. "Just leave the tray in the table, Meiko-nee."

A creak from the door was heard, a light coming from the outside over powered the moon's luminosity. "Thanks for brining the food," Len smiled at the maid who have just entered the room. She had a very fine figure, no—seductive figure, her name was Meiko, who is Len's servant for almost ten years bowed at her master. "It's always been my pleasure, Master-"

Len quickly gave her a glare.

"—Len I mean," she said correcting herself. She smiled as she closed the door gently.

"Meiko, so how is Wonderland? Yesterday you told me that you'll go today." Len asked, rolling on the other corner of the bed.

Meiko walked near a creamy white modern sofa, while crossing her legs. "Nahh… nothing special happened. I just met the hatter and that stupid caterpillar."

"The Hatter? Seriously?" Len quickly looked at Meiko's direction while raising a brow. She just nodded in reply.

"I see…" Len flinched at this. This might be bad.

"Don't worry. The Hatter isn't aware of the Trump's identity. I presume,"

"You presume?"

"Yes."

Len quickly stood up. "You shouldn't be deceived by that Pea brain's tactics!"

Meiko took a glance at the left corner of the room. Huh? Shouldn't Len notice him already? Meiko thought, then glanced back at Len with a blank expression. "Len, I think you shouldn't have said that."

"Give me a reason why?! It's not like he's here!" Len retorted, crossing his arms childishly. If he's here, I'd sense him right away.

"Nope." Meiko said, popping the 'p' of the nope. I guess, he's mind is in a mess right now. This might end up bad. "He's at your back actually," she added, pointing at his back.

"Like I'd believe such things—"

"Daaawww~ Such rude words coming out from your potty mouth Len," a male's voice perked up Len's senses. "And for your information, I am not a pea brain."

"What the fu—"

With a spade's instincts and a diamond's illusionary power, Len quickly darted the four ace cards at the Hatter's direction. Easily pinning the poor guy on the wall, however, he just chuckled and even managed to clap at Len's combination trick.

"That was good, Ace," he stated with a hint of amusement. "However, it's too early to challenge your senpai, no?" he said, with a single snap of his finger all the cards were crystallized and disappeared without a trace.

The Hatter took off his huge hat, while twirling it using his fingers. An alluring teal hair was hiding underneath the over-sized hat revealed itself, matching blue cerulea n eyes, staring at Len with a glint of delight. He bowed appropriately. "Nice to see you again, Ace… and Red shaded Murd—I mean Meiko-san."

Meiko's eyes furrowed for a second, but she kept her composure. "So what brings you here, Mad Hatter? Growing tired of sewing hats in your adobe?"

"Of course not!" Mad Hatter replied instantly. "I never grew tired of making them. Just to let you know, my mistress is one of the keys, and I have to guide her."

"Ah are you referring to Alice-chan?"

"Ohohoho~ So is she a girl? Is she cute? Adorable? Extravagant? Oh oh! It's been awhile since the Trump became a girl! Ummm… 5 centuries, or 6? Nahhh… whatever…" the Hatter continued his ramblings, eventually, he ran out of words.

"So what are you doing here?"

"I just came by to greet you two. But Alas, I could finally see my new mistress after 1 century." He said, and then he started melting and strangely evaporated.

"Mistress?" asked Len.

"Yeah… the trump is needed in that ceremony, along with the guidance of the Hatter, didn't you know?"

"Ah… sorry, I didn't."

Meiko studied Len for awhile. "Hmm…"

"Did something happen Len? You look dead today. And you're quite weird."

"Nothing much. Just a bunch of stuff," he said. Crashing his bed, again. He nuzzled one pillow and slowly drove to sleep. Meiko waited until Len was sound asleep. She stepped outside from the blonde's room, sighing in worry.

Goodness, why did he have to meet the Trump? It would only hinder the contract of an Ace.

Ah, Kami, what are you planning?

Star: It's been awhile folks! I finally managed to update. And Shadow won't be joining this update's author's note, because of some reasons. I'm sorry if it's really short unlike the other chapters! Knight intended this to happen. I don't even know why! He said just make it short as possible. The perk? (a.a")
