Pandora's Box
A/N: Guess what this one's about. Sorry about the lack of a creative title but I just love the original title too much!
Curiosity killed the cat
And my satisfaction brought bitter fruit
Into the hearts of man.
Like seeds wildly escaping the velvet purse of a flower
So the shadows fled in a mad storm
And planting themselves in all nearby
Possessing blindly, indiscriminately
And from that seed, a weed grew
From the weed, another
Stench-ridden marshes grew and spread
Scattering their poisonous spores
Until the hearts of man were dark, deadly forests
Of that box's dread contents
And my folly.
And we all reap what we sow. . .
Those black forests; ugly parodies of Gaia's beauty
Full of thorns and monsters lurking in darkness
And fearful shadows, creeping behind our bodies
Torching our souls with their clammy touch
Like cool silk, their hands pollute
And the stain of corruption spreads across the sheet
Darkening all.
Twisting, tormenting, making us grotesque beasts.
And we learn to revel in it
We learn to love vice
And all its enriching rewards
Ignoring the golden road to Tartarus we pave for ourselves.
The road I must one day follow into the dark depths
Bearing the weight of all mankind's punishment.
And I accept
And I regret.
I fell and took innocents with me
Dragging our kind down with growing evil.
I let the shadows take hold
I let them dance with dark frenzy within
Full of the blaze of black fire
And I am eternally lost.
But my eyes forever return to the pristine blossom
White with innocent purity
They call it hope
Hope still remaining forever young and ripe
Within the accursed box of false glory
I preserve hope
The one white light against the shadows that posses us.
Take a peek inside. . .
