THAT MOMENT YOU REALIZE I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN OVER A MONTH...

Guys, I'm so sorry. I thought I could juggle the other story along with this one... but it turns out writing a oneshot a day is hard. And along with my homework (because obviously school has to be brutal) and my almost-nonexistent social life... well, the point is that I'm sorry.

'Yeah, Bookworm, but what about the other two weeks, hmm?'

I was busy crying over the House of Hades, okay? Give me a break. I have to wait another year to find out what happens. (*laughs at a sudden thought* Annabeth gets mad when Hera steals Percy for six/eight months. HA! HA HA HA ANNABETH! YOU'RE WEAK! YOU KNOW WHAT WE FREAKING FANS HAVE TO PUT UP WITH!? *RANDOM RAGE ON THE KEYBOARD*)

PS: Did anyone see the dedication? I died when I read it. (Rick obviously doesn't appreciate his fans enough.)

Also, there's another thing I need to mention... this is almost the last chapter of the story.

'WHAT?' you say. '[INSERT SWEAR WORD HERE] YOU, BOOKWORM!'

Before you continue, I need to remind you that the story was basically over already. The one-month break changes nothing.

So, without further ado, (I bet no one actually read that note anyway), here's the last chapter of the story. (Oh, did I say 'almost' last? Sorry, I meant 'last last'.)

Piper

She sat alone on the roof of the big house, slowly swinging her legs underneath her. She stared down at the feast below her—Romans and Greeks together, celebrating. The sun dipped down under the horizon, cascading the sky with brilliant sunset colours. Piper sighed. She was supposed to be celebrating with the others, but she couldn't. There was too much on her mind.

She heard footsteps approaching. "Hey, Leo," she said. She knew it was him. It was very much like him to find her at a time like this. He sat down beside her. The two of them sat in the longest silence for a while.

"Wow," he said, trying to bring up conversation. "What a day."

Piper just nodded silently. They had gotten to CHB just before the fighting had started, after Hazel did some crazy magic with gold. (The show beat any old circus performance by a million.) She had brilliantly given a wonderful speech about peace, but it wasn't enough. She was just about to get a spear through the skull when the goddess appeared.

Ugh.

Well, obviously she was more influential than Piper. She had united the two camps, and there they were, celebrating.

Except for the nine.

Them eight, Piper and Leo, Annabeth and Percy, Hazel and Frank, Jason and Reyna, and Nico had been taken off to a side to speak to the goddess seperately. She explained what was happening that night, and after that they couldn't bear be with the others.

Piper imagined all she and Leo had done had been for nothing. But Hera had explained that without them, this event wouldn't be happening. She told them Gaea had messed up the timeline so that it went all bonkers, but now that history was mostly back on track time would literally snap back to what it was supposed to be. And that was happening in ten minutes.

She had also told them what would happen in real life. Percy and Jason would be switched and lost to their respective camps for eight months, with absolutely no memory whatsoever. Nico is kidnapped by giants and nearly suffocated to death. Jason and Piper are actually a couple. (When Hera had said that Piper looked over at Reyna and felt only guilt.) Percy loses his invincibility. Frank's timeline burns out. Nico's 'secret' was out. (The goddess never specified what the secret in question was.) And, most horrible of all, Percy and Annabeth fall into Tartarus.

Obviously Jason and Reyna were together somewhere, talking about their troubled relationship in real life. Percy and Annabeth for their troubled journey ahead. Frank was probably explaining what his timeline was to Hazel. And Nico… Piper had no clue where Nico was.

"Crazy, huh," Leo continued. "You know, I've been thinking about that prophecy. Mostly that second last line."

Piper tried to remember it. "Now there is only one way to save the future's fate, the forge and the dove must work together to change their persuasive rate," she said.

Leo nodded. "Yeah, that one," he said. "And that forge didn't do anything these past few days. The prophecy lied."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, if you think about it, you did everything. The two speeches, how to get from California to New York… heck, you even figured out how to fix all the holes in Annabeth's plans."

"But I wouldn't have been able to do that all by myself," she said. "You helped me along the way to get to here, and look! That whole 'persuasive rate' thing turned out to be a goddess." She shook her head unhappily. "Prophecies. I hate them."

Leo checked his watch. "Ten minutes to ten," he announced. "I wonder what I'm like in real life. And I wonder how you're like with Jason as a sweetheart."

"I wonder how that happened," she said, her head cocked in thought. Demigod lives were weird.

"It doesn't matter anyway, because you'll be with him, your boyfriend, soon enough." Wait. Was that distaste he said it with?

Piper sighed and unsheathed Katopris, looking into the blade. For seconds she thought she saw her father tied to a stake, a horse dragging a giant along a snow trek, and Percy and Annabeth hiding from ghouls in a place full of darkness.

"You know what?" she told Leo. "I think we're going to be just fine."

A word of advice: If you're wondering what the heck just happened, read the note at the top. I know many people don't read those (including me).

Also just wanna let you know I'm starting a new story soon: The Blood of Olympus. (And yes, if you have read The House of Hades you should start to fan-girl/guy right about now.) I know by the time some of you read this it'll already be out, so if it is, GO! GO READ IT! IT WILL BE JUST AS AMAZING AS THIS STORY (hopefully)!
