Chapter Eighteen
Mali had arrived from the past safe. Anton and Cassie had called letting them know that they were on their way back home. Elena heard the car stop. They entered the house.
"Family we have news for you. We're expecting a baby."
Elijah noticed that his triplets were too quiet. He knew that wasn't good.
"What are they planning?" Elena asked.
"I have no idea. It must be really big."
"I know."
They continued like that for a few more days.
"Okay we've been so secretive because we were planning something." Mali said.
"We hope you like it." Aidan said.
"We planned your anniversary trip."
"Where exactly are we going?" Elijah asked.
"Eh. You're going to South America for three weeks."
"You can't leave before my wedding." Lia said.
"No not in a million years." Elijah said.
Three weeks had gone by and they were getting the bride ready. It seemed like if they were still tiny babies. Everyone waking up at different hours for different reasons and if one got sick the rest would get sick. The unavoidable was becoming a reality. He knew that part of growing up was that they would make a family of their own. They were all getting ready. The last ones to leave were the bride and the father of the bride. The groom was going with Elijah and Elena He could sense his nervousness. He remembered when he married Elena. After the ceremony took place they were going to have lunch together.
"I can't." Mali said as Klaus was passing her a flute of champagne. "I just found out this morning."
"Oh congratulations!" Cassie stated.
"Thank you." Mali said.
They ordered their meals. Lia and Mikhail were going their separate ways for a week and then they would return home. Mali kept running to the restroom.
"Are you sure you're going to be okay?" Elena asked Mali.
"Yeah you two go and have fun. The Adams family is going to help me. You two need a break." Mali replied.
"Okay see you in two weeks." Elena said.
They said goodbye and Klaus went with them to drop them off at the airport.
"Have fun."
"Thanks." Elena. "Hey start planning your own getaway. You two deserve it."
"I'll talk to Caroline." Klaus said.
Elijah and Elena got their suitcase out of the truck and headed inside the airport. They passed through security and waited for their plane to be called.
"Our triplets are a handful." Elena said.
"Yeah but they can be very sweet." Elijah replied.
"Yes they can and when she wants to be protected by them."
They're layover flight was called and they got ready to head out. It was a short flight. They now had to wait one hour for their long hour's flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina. He had loved the idea of how they had come up with the country visits and left it up to them to what to visit. They walked around the airport holding hands until their flight was called.
"It's going to be a long flight." Elijah said.
"Yeah I know." Elena replied as they were seating down in seats.
Thirteen hour and forty-five minutes later they were landing in Buenos Aires.
"Wow." Elena said.
"You haven't seen anything yet." Elijah said kissing her cheek.
After the security checking they were ready to explore the city. They checked in at the hotel. Elijah and Elena ordered room service. He wanted her. He kissed her. The following morning after breakfast they were getting ready for their day. They walked around the city and Elijah was explaining some of the history of the city and country. After hours of walking around they decided to look for somewhere to have lunch. They headed towards Bariloche. They decided to spend the night there.
"I'm glad you taught me Spanish."
-Me da mucho gusto oir eso, Amor- Elijah replied in Spanish.
She smiled and then kissed him. From Bariloche they headed towards the Iguazú Falls.
-¡Wow, es realmente hermoso!- Elena stated.
-Si que lo es.- Elijah replied.
The falls divided Argentina and Brazil. The falls from an aerial view formed the letter J. The falls longest fall is and it's known as the Devil's throat. There were a lot of places to see in Argentina as in all of South America but they had a short time visiting them and it was time now to go to Uruguay. They went to Punta del Diablo which is known by its rocky island and creating the "trident" from there he went to Punta del Este and then Montevideo. It was time to leave to Paraguay.
Elijah and Elena visited one of the famous rivers which shared the name with the country, walked around in Asunción, San Bernardino and went to see the waterfall Saltos del Monday and to the Eco Reserva Mbatovi which they zip lined. Their next country was Bolivia. They had been advised at the airport by other tourists that there was much nothing to see and that taxi drivers didn't even know their own city.
"Elena, do you really want to do it?" Elijah asked.
"I have done crazy things with you."
"Yes I remember. One of them was when we conceived our triplets." He said and noticed her smile.
They started their 38 or 43 miles bike ride through the Yungas Road or better known as the Death Road. The road connects La Paz to Coroico. They looked for a place to eat.
"It's not a thing I would do again." Elena stated as they were waiting for their order.
It was their time to say goodbye to Bolivia and say hello to Brazil. He could see that Brazil was another party.
"Happy anniversary Elena."
"My best gift has been you." Elena replied. "You and our children."
They not only visited São Paulo but Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Brazilia, and the Christ Redeemer but they learned to dance samba and capoeira. They kept buying things for the rest of the family. The next country in the list was Venezuela.
"You're keeping something from me." Elijah stated.
"I don't know but there's something creepy about this place." Elena said.
"Yeah I figured that out. Do you want to leave?"
"Yeah."

They had only watched the Angel Falls and then they headed towards the country that was next on the list which was Colombia. The first city they visited was Cartagena. They had so much fun doing things not clearly PG 13. They visited the most famous places in Cartagena and from there they went to Bogotá and from there Medellín.
Lijah, someone is following us. Elena said through their link.
I can sense it too.
Two men appeared from behind them.
-Al patron le gusto la muchacha.-
Let me go. I have a plan.
Lena!
Elena left with those men. She wouldn't let that man kill girls after he used them for his entertainment. They were someone's daughter.
-Porfin llegaste.- He said and told them to his men to walk out. –Quitate la ropa-
-No tan pronto, ¿podría pasar al baño?- Elena asked as she noticed the chimney was on.
She walked into the restroom and prepared herself mentally.
-Te estoy esperando-
Elena walked towards him and began unbuttouning her shirt.
-Te vas a quedar callado- Elena compelled him as she began to trace her finger around his heart and began to puncture –quedate quieto no va a doler. Esto es por todas las muchachas que has matado.-
He did as was told. She ripped his heart out and threw it in the chimney. She washed her hands and walked out. She compelled the man outside that he didn't want to be bothered till the following day. She found her way to her Elijah.
"You did good."
"Yeah I had to get the mama card out."
"Let's get out of here."
They left to the following country on the list. They landed first in Galapagos Island the water was so blue and clear. They went to Los Tuneles a great place for snorkeling, to Kicker Rock, Las Loberias to see the sea lions, to North Seymour Island, Reserva El Chato to see the giant tortoise and Las Grietas.
"This place is amazing."
"Yes."
Elijah and Elena moved from the islands to the mainland of Ecuador. They would go to Quito. In Quito they visited the Plaza de la Independencia, Maquipucuna Cloud Forest Reserve, Parque la Carolina, El Panecillo and you couldn't go to Quito without visiting the Mitad del Mundo. Since Ecuador was situated in the equator it was in the center of the world.
"It's really beautiful here."
"Yes it is."
After Ecuador they headed towards Peru. They had fallen in love with Peru. They went to the Amazon Rainforest. They didn't have the five star hotel but looking around surrounded by nature itself was beautiful. They also went to Colca Canyon which is more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon and it's home to the Andean condor. It didn't have the reddish colors the Grand Canyon had.
Their next destination in Peru was the Lake Titicaca. It was something extraordinaire to see. The lake bordered with Bolivia. The water changed colors depending on the temperature.
"This is really beautiful Lijah."
"Yes and there's yet more to see."
They headed towards the Sacred Valley which was called "Valley of the Yucay" in the ancient Incan capital Cusco. Elijah explained the history of the place. They headed towards the market at Pisac, they had lunch in Urubamba and visited the Incan fortress Ollantaytambo and a quick stop in a Quechua village called Chinchero.
"Are you having fun?" Elijah asked.
"Yes. Where are we going now?" Elena asked.
"I wanted to leave Machu Picchu to the last so you could experience Peru at its full. Are you ready?"
"Yeah."
They headed towards Machu Picchu. She loved her trip but she was missing her family. The long trek into the top was something she had never done but arriving at the top and seeing the world from up there was simply majestic.
"It's really beautiful."
"Not as much as you."
She didn't reply back as he kissed her and she loved his lips. After a while they headed down and got ready to head out to a new country. The last country in the list was Chile. They started by going to the Museo Historico Nacional and followed by Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino and walked around the Plaza de Armas and ending it by having dinner in a restaurant called Giratorio. Elijah and Elena headed towards their hotel. She was amazed by the city. The night lights it was something new to her. They walked inside the hotel room.
-Buenas noches. La habitacion de Elijah Smith.-
-Si aquí esta la llave. Esta en el segundo piso y el elevador esta allí.-
He got the key and headed towards the elevator. They waited for the door to open. The elevator chimed and the door opened. They walked in and pressed the button.
"I can't wait to see more of it. This place is beautiful."
"Yes it is." He said and kissed her.
The door chimed and opened. They walked into their room. The following day they got up and got ready to head out for their day. They went to Cerro San Cristobal. They decided to walk to the top where they would see the city and the Andes. They headed down to have lunch in the city that was at the bottom of the hill. They also went to Cerro Santa Lucia they had lunch in a restaurant called Galindo.
"Now what?" Elena asked Elijah.
"We are going to a bar called 'La Piojera' and have a drink called 'terremoto' and it's kind of strong."
She smiled. "Let's roll."
Elijah opened the door of the bar for her and they sat on the bar.
-Dos terremotos por favor.- Elijah said.
Minutes later the barista gave them their drinks.
"Now I know why they say it's strong." Elena said.
After a while back to their hotel. They were going back home to their family the following day. Through the taxi window she could see the hills and the Andes. Elijah paid the taxi fare and got down. They headed inside the airport. They waited for their flight to be called over. They waited for one and a half hours. They boarded the plane. The flight home seemed going faster.
"The song is talking about us." He whispered so low that only she would hear.
"I know." She replied and kissed him. "I love you for a thousand more."
"I am glad you're in my life Elena and that we have three beautiful children." Elijah said.
She kissed his cheek.
"So then it's good your crazy brother showed up in town and got a glimpse of my blond BFF."
1st set of Spanish:
"I'm glad to hear that love."
"Wow is really beautiful."
"Yes it is."
2nd set of Spanish:
"The boss liked the lady."
"You're finally here...take off your clothes."
"Not that fast could I use the restroom?"
"You're going to stay quiet...stay still it won't hurt. This is for all the girls you have killed."
3rd set of Spanish:
"Good night. Elijah Smith room."
"Yes here's the key. It's on the second floor and the elevator is there."
In Spanish the word "terremoto" is earthquake. If you would ask for another terremoto drink you would be given a smaller dose and it would be called "replica" which is after shake.
