A/N – Please don't be mad at me! I have been very busy and have not had any spare time to finish this chapter. That with a mixture of writer's block and not even bringing myself to think about what to do. It's all good now though!

I really hope you like this : ) Enjoy!

The shadowy figure sat with his back to the door, grasping a glass of scotch in his hand. He stared blankly at the board covered with the names and components of various chemicals and mixtures. He hoped his little bird was having fun trying to figure out who was messing with him.

The door behind him creaked open and the figure turned his chair around. The man that entered had greasy black hair and three gold teeth. A long scar etched across his face, from his brow to the bottom of his cheek bone. Two very buff men that could almost be mistaken for brothers accompanied him.

The figure and the man stared at each other a long moment before the man spoke. "Ya must've called me all the way here for a reason; I suggest ya get on with it." His thick Italian accent made him hard to understand.

The figure smirked, "I believe I may have a job for you Mister Zucco.

That night was a rough one for Robin. His mind was muddled with questions, which as the night went on slowly started to increase his anxiety. They would range from "What if this all just a big ploy for an even bigger crime?" to "What if I'm not able to save the President?" to "What if it's me who takes the fall this time?"

Robin, reaching an almost panic attack mode, couldn't take it anymore and he threw off his covers, grabbed his flashlight, and ran out into the night. He reached the animal's tent and entered through the back entrance. Using the small light he saw the familiar grey trunk sticking out from behind a wall. "Hey girl." He whispered; he was going to try his hardest not to wake anyone this time. He petted her soft, leathery, skin and hugged her trunk. A few tears managed to escape from all the stress and Zitka wiped them away with the end of her trunk. He sniffled, "Can I stay here for a while?"

Zitka responded by wrapping her trunk around his waist and placing him on her back. Robin chuckled and patted the tuffs of hair that grew on her head, "Alright but we have to be quiet." Robin moved himself so that he was lying on his back, his hands supporting his head. He talked in a whisper about everything he had done since the tragic day his parents died, ranging from his first night as Robin, to meeting the team, to how he and Babs pranked the principal and were never got. Zitka would coo along as if she understood. Robin began to wonder if she really could.

Soon Robin was asleep, and managed to stay that way until the sun forced his eyes open. He sat up quickly and patted his friend to wake her. "Zitka. Zitka, you need to set me down now, I need to go." Zitka brought up her trunk and wrapped it around his torso, bringing him down carefully.

Robin started to run off, when he turned to see the elephant waving goodbye. He gave a small smile and ran back to hug her trunk, "I love you Zitka. I'll come back later ok." Zitka pulled her trunk from his grasp and ruffled his hair. He laughed before petting her one last time and jogging back to the trailer.

At the trailer, Robin crawled back into bed. The sun was just barely peaking up the horizon and he had a few hours before it was really time to start preparing. The ebony fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, and though it was short, it was the best sleep he had had in years.

Three men walked among the shadows of Haly's grand circus. Two men were quite large, and the other was thin and small. They quietly crept around the edges of tents and trailers, trying not to alarm any of the ones staying there. One man, the big, burly, one, tripped just as they passed the final trailer, knocking over a bucket in the process. The three men stilled, listening for sounds of anyone awaking from the large crash. After they were assured that the coast was clear they quickly made their way into the main tent, where the thin man promptly smacked the burly man over the head. "Are you trying to get us caught? One more slip up like that and your toast!"

The burly man cowered and hung his head. "Yes boss."

The thin man rolled his eyes, "Let's just get this over with." He help out his to hand the to the other big, muscular man, waiting impatiently. The muscular man fumbled for a minute before pulling out the screwdriver and placing it in his boss' hand. "Finally" the boss mumbled.

"Rise and shine buttercup!" Robin yelled as he threw a bucket of freezing cold water onto his almost comatose friend.

"Agh!" Wally yelped as he rose from his deep slumber. He glared at his friend through tired eyes before smacking his head back down on the pillow and covering it with the now wet blanket. Robin considered going to get some more water, before he heard the mumbled reply off "I may rise but I refuse to shine!" come from under the blanket.

Robin's cackle echoed around the small room and Wally's head peaked out from the covers, only his wet hair that was plastered against his fore head and smiling, green, eyes could be seen. After a moment Wally finally conceded, "Alright I'm coming," he sighed, "I don't see why I have to get up at the crack of dawn though! I'm not even really in the show." He yanked off the covers and began to change into the uniform that Haly gave him.

Robin rolled his eyes, "Oh come on! You are a very important part of the show. Imagine if you were somewhere and there was absolutely no place to buy snacks?"

Wally stopped with one leg in his pants and stood up straighter, his green eyes slowly growing in size. After a short moment he whispered, "That would be torture." Once again robin's creepy cackle was heard.

A bang came at the door and Robin bounded forward to get it, fully expecting one of the team coming to see why they weren't ready yet. Instead though, when Robin answered the door he saw none other than Pop Haly himself, standing there with his usual joyful grin. "Robin, my boy!" He bellowed out, and Robin couldn't resist showing the smile creeping up on his face.

He quickly cleared his throat to avoid suspicion. "Hello, Mr. Haly is there anything I can help you with?" All he wanted to do was hug the man with all his might but instead he had to pretend he was a stranger. Sometimes secret identity's really sucked.

"I just wanted to let you and your team know that I really appreciate all that you are doing for our little circus. It truly does mean a lot to me." Robin smiled at the aging man.

"Well you are quite welcome. It is an honor to be here."

There was a moment of silence until Haly cleared his throat. "Ah-hem… Boy-o do you mind if I talk to you outside for a moment?"

"Umm, sure that shouldn't be a problem." Robin climbed down the steps and shut the screen door behind him. "Is everything ok?"

Pop Haly looked around, then when he saw the coast was clear, he tackled Robin's small frame in a hug. "Oh Dick we all missed ya so much!" He whispered to the shocked boy.

Robin considered for a moment lying and asking what he was talking about, but he knew Pop Haly would never blab. "How did you know?" He whispered back, hugging the man back with every inch of his life.

Haly pulled away and rolled his eyes. "Please I saw ya practicing on the trapeze! Only a Flying Grayson could perform a quadruple front flip like that." Oops, "And no one's ever managed to calm down Zitka like you!" Double oops, Batman may kill me yet!

Robin talked with Pop Haly for a few more minutes before begrudgingly admitting to have to go. He couldn't be seen talking with Haly like he was, it could led to even more people figuring out who he was, and he did not need that. He did, however, promise to visit Haly right when they finished their mission, so he had that to look forward to.

After changing and meeting up with the team for some breakfast, Robin made his way to the trapeze. The team had made a lot of progress in their routines and he had confidence that they would do well undercover for the next's day's show. He just hoped nothing unexpected were to happen, like it always did.

Once at his station, he chalked his hands to prevent slipping and once again made his way up the long robe ladder. He breathed in the air of the circus as he climbed. The animals, the fresh popcorn cooking for the show the next day, the chalk on his hands, all held a special place in his heart and the smells were bringing up an over whelming amount of memories. What surprised him though, was that for that moment he was completely happy. He couldn't think of anywhere else he'd rather be. Of course he wasn't going to give up crime fighting and come back to the circus, but for the moment he was going to enjoy his time there.

When he made it to the top, he grasped the trapeze bar with both hands and swung out. He practiced old routines he did with his family, and free ranged a bit to try out some new ones. He was finally working up a sweat when he heard a creaking noise coming from above him. He looked up to see the connector for the trapeze robe had a screw missing and that it was slowly inching out of its socket. Panic gripped his heart as he realized what was happening. He swung to get to the platform and right as he was about to step to safety the chains holding the ropes gave sending him spiraling to the ground, no net beneath him.

"ROBIN!"
