Look who decided to update early…I'm so proud of myself. Anyway I got some things to say (IF U CAME FOR THE STORY JUST SKIP THIS! IT HAS SOME SPOILERS IN IT)…

For that person who says that Naruhina is technically not canon: Sure, that's why they don't have two kids together in the last chapter (if you didn't notice, I was being sarcastic). You don't need to actually see them together for them to be canon. Their kids are proof enough.

I don't own Naruto

Naruto's POV

I woke up to the sound of people talking. I opened my eyes to see Hinata across the room, still resting with Hanabi and Neji and his girlfriend talking silently by where I lay (which happened to be the couch they were laying on last night)

I sighed and sat up slowly, wondering how and why I was on the couch. They seemed to notice me as I sat up. They turned my way and stared at me for a moment.

"What time is it?" I grumbled to them. I wasn't really a morning person.

"Three in the afternoon." Neji stated and I looked at him wide eyed. I thought it was morning.

"How'd I get on the couch?" I asked eyeing the couch before looking up at them. Tenten giggled and pointed at Neji who only turned away. "Oh…" I mumble before standing up and stretching a bit. I was kind of sore but that was probably because I fell asleep on the chair. I looked at them and they stared at me for a long moment. "What?" I questioned. Tenten squirmed in her spot and Neji only scoffed.

"She woke up…a few minutes ago." Neji's girlfriend stated and my eyes widened. I was about to rush over to Hinata's side before I was stopped by Neji.

"Let g-"I was silenced by a hand on my mouth. I looked over at Tenten who shushed me. I totally forgot that they were still sleeping. Neji removed his hand then wiped his hand on my shirt. I glared at him and Tenten giggled a little.

"Is she okay? I asked Tenten. I didn't really want to converse with the bastard this early in the morning.

"Well…she didn't exactly wake up. More like she said something." Tenten whispered and I looked over at her then to Neji.

"Tch." He turned around and walked out the door. What's with his attitude? I hate that bastard. I turned back to Tenten who shrugged.

"What did she say?" I questioned and she gave me a small smile.

"She was calling you. She was saying your name." she said and I knew I probably had a blush on my face. Hinata was calling my name? I look over toward her sleeping form and couldn't help but blush more. I turned toward Tenten and she only shrugged.

"I'm going to go see where Neji ran off to." She said before giving me a wink only to cause my blush to darken. Stupid girls. I watched as she walked out of the room then slowly toward the hospital bed. I walked cautiously toward them before stopping at Hinata's left. I watched her for a moment before I sighed and sat down in the same chair as last night.

"I hope you wake up soon." I whispered and as if my prayers were answered, her eyes snapped open. I gasped loudly before standing up quickly. "Hinata!" I call out. Hanabi immediately sits up and looks at her sister with a mixture of shock and elation. Hinata stares at me for a moment before shooting up. I started to panic.

"Calm down! Lay back down you'll open your wound." I say and lower her down slowly. She stares at me and I couldn't help but smile wide. It was good seeing her beautiful eyes again. Wait, beautiful?

"Hinata I'm glad you're okay." Hanabi whispers as tears slip past her eyes. Hinata reaches over and wipes her sister's tears from her eyes.

"I'm fine… so don't cry." Hinata whispered. Even though her voice was a bit scratchy, I couldn't help but sigh in relief. She's fine. Hanabi only nodded as she tried to stop her tears from falling. "Now give me a hug. I'm sure I worried you enough." She said and Hanabi bent over and gave her an awkward hug, trying not to hurt her wound.

"Neji, she's awake!" I heard Tenten say happily. I turn to see her dragging in the bastard by hand. She had a big smile on her face and rushed over toward her bedside, pushing me in the process. "You worried me bunches Hina!" Tenten mumbled as she gave her friend a lopsided hug.

"I'm sorry to have worried you." She said sullenly as she let Tenten go. I looked to see Tenten wiping a few tears away from her eyes.

"Don't worry about it. As long as you're here and okay. That's all I ask for." Tenten said with a smile. Hinata smiled as well.

"Can I get some water?" she asked and Hanabi immediately jumped off the bed.

"I'll get it!" she announced as she raced out of the room.

"Hanabi!" Hinata yelled but she was already out the door. I immediately rushed after the little girl. She needed to learn how to stay still. She couldn't be running off like a wild animal.

Hinata's POV

I watched as Naruto ran after my sister. She needed to learn to stop running off. It wasn't safe at all. I looked up to see Neji glaring at me. I raised an eyebrow as he told Tenten to wait outside. I watched as she slowly walked out the room and closed the door.

"Why did you jump in the way?" he asked angrily. I was a bit taken back because usually when someone takes a bullet for you, you're supposed to be thankful.

"I-"

"You could've been killed! I had the situation under control!" he yelled and I glared at him.

"Under control? Neji, he had a gun pointed straight at you!" I yelled back which came out like a screechy banshee. Under control my ass.

"I would've been fine! You're not built to take bullets!" he argued and I continued to glare at him.

"And you are!? What if he shot you in the heart, Neji? He may have been intoxicated but who knows how accurate his shot could have been?!" Neji sighed and ran his hand through his hair.

"That doesn't mean you take a bullet for me. I promised myself that I'd protect you and this isn't what I had in mind. You need to be protected too, Hinata." He said as he looked me in the eye. I turned away from his hard stare and sighed. I guess he was right. But then again I couldn't rely on him too much. He had his own life to live.

"Okay. I guess that I'm sorry for getting shot when you were supposed to. Next time I'll just let whoever wants to shoot you shoot you." I said with a smirk and he rolled his eyes. He walked up to my bed side and gave me a one armed hug.

"Thank you and I'm glad you're safe." He whispered and I nodded before letting him go. As soon as I let him go Naruto and Hanabi burst through the door with Tenten following behind them.

"I told you, I knew where I was going!" Hanabi pouted as she came to me with a glass of water. I thanked her before downing the whole cup in one gulp.

"That doesn't mean you go running off without supervision." Naruto lectured while Tenten came up to Neji and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Naruto's right. You almost gave me a heart attack running off like that." I said cutting Hanabi off before she could respond. They all looked at me worriedly and I sighed. Couldn't they tell what a joke was? "I was kidding. I'm fine." I said rolling my eyes. I looked to see all of them let out a breath of relief.

I looked over at Naruto to find him staring at me. I raised an eyebrow at him but he didn't let off his gaze. That's odd.

"Can you give us a minute guys?" Naruto asked suddenly making the room fall silent. I looked at him in shock. What was he doing? What did he want to talk to me about? What was so important that we had to speak privately?

"No." Neji answered first and Naruto glared at him. God those two fought like cat and mouse. They needed to learn how to get along.

"Come on Neji. Let's take Hanabi to go get something to eat. She's been sleeping all day, I bet she's hungry." Tenten said giving him a warning look before walking out the room hand and hand with Hanabi. Neji glared at Naruto for another moment before slowly walking toward his girlfriend. As soon as the door closed, I looked back at Naruto. His head was down and his fists were clenched.

"You didn't kick them out for nothing. What's on your mind Uzumaki?" I asked quietly and his eyes snapped to mine and I gasped a little. His eyes weren't they're usual bright baby blue anymore. They were a shocking silver. So many emotions played through his eyes. Anger. Relief. Happiness. Sadness.

"Why'd you do something so stupid?" I flinched at his words but didn't answer him. I wanted him to let whatever he was holding in out. "What would have happened if you died? Where would Hanabi go? Who would take care of her?!" his voice got louder with every question he asked. I looked away in shame. I didn't think about any of that stuff when I jumped in front of the bullet. I heard him sigh and walk toward the bed. He placed his hand on my hair and ruffled it a little. I snapped my head in his direction. "I'm sorry for yelling….you really had me worried. There was…a lot of blood and…. I just freaked out once you left. I would've killed him if the cops didn't come." I automatically knew who he was talking about.

"I'm glad they came when they did then." I whispered and he nodded before removing his hand from my head. "Who else would I make fun of if you weren't around?" I joked trying to lighten up the mood in the room. It seemed to work since he gave a chuckle.

"That's true." He stated before looking me in the eyes again. He looked as if he wanted to tell me something before he sighed and turned toward the door. "I'm glad you're okay." He whispered before starting toward the door. He opened the door only for Neji, Tenten, and Hanabi to fall on the ground in that order.

"What the hell?!" I called out, eyebrow twitching. Why were they trying to listen to our conversation? He kicked them out for a reason.

"IT WAS NEJI'S IDEA!" Hanabi and Tenten yelled out at the same time pointing at the said man on the ground. He shot up and glared at the two.

"Like I would want to hear what this loser has to say." Neji said before standing up and glaring at Naruto.

"Hey! Then why were you the first to fall to the ground? You must be obsessed with me or something. You couldn't handle a few minutes without hearing my voice?" Naruto taunted and Neji only glared at him. I couldn't help but laugh at the whole thing. Hanabi and Tenten giggled as well and Naruto pouted. "It's not funny having a stalker." Naruto said sticking his tongue out at Neji.

"I'm not obsessed with you Uzumaki. I was tricked into it." Neji said looking pointedly at Tenten who scoffed and turned away. I sighed at watched them all interact. It was fun. We were like one big happy family…I looked down at the thought. Family….It was something I always wanted and when I look at the scene in front of me, I couldn't help but shed a tear. It was like I finally was able to have a family to call my own. Hanabi was the only family I had, but when I see them all talking and laughing together, I can't help but feel as though my family is expanding. I smile at the thought.

Few weeks later…

Naruto's POV

I watched as Hanabi and Hinata folded their clothes and put them in a suitcase, one of Neji's I was pretty sure. I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness in my heart. I had gotten used to their presence in the house. They made my home feel homier. You don't know how happy I was when I came home saying 'I'm home' and was responded with a 'welcome back'. I think I cried that day. It wasn't as lonely with them here.

A few days after Hinata was discharged from the hospital, they were bombarded with questions from the cops. Hinata told them the whole truth, not leaving anything in the dark. She didn't break down at all as she told them her story, but you could see the pain in her eyes as she relayed her personal nightmare to them. It was hard having to listen to the story from her prospective. It only made me respect her even more.

Hiashi ended up going to jail, pleading guilty to attempted murder, assault, battery, and child abuse. The bastard ended up getting 15 years. Shows how fucked up the system is. I was pissed when I found out. After hearing what Hinata's story, he should've been sentenced for life or something. Hinata had to calm me down that day. I was honestly ready to hop over the seats and kill the bastard myself. That day I wished I had killed the bastard when I had the chance. She was a little hurt that he didn't get longer time in jail, but was happy that he was finally out of her hair. I couldn't help but happy for her.

I ended up getting charged with battery and had to pay a $500 fine…Jiraiya was not happy about that. Hell neither was I. The bastard deserved what I gave him.

Neji ended up getting custody of Hinata and Hanabi, hence why they were packing. At first I was angry. I didn't want them to stay with the bastard at all. Then, Hinata explained what actually happened and I guess I came to terms with Neji. If she was okay with him I guess I would be more tolerant with him.

I continued to watch them pack with a heavy heart. I sighed before leaving the room and sitting on the couch. It was hard to believe, but I knew this day was coming. I was just hoping it would happen more later than sooner.

"Hinata, I think Neji's back!" Hanabi called from the hallway. I craned my neck to see her rush back into her room…well my room now. I stood up and walked back to my room. Hanabi was trying to zip up her suitcase. It looked stuffed. I chuckled a little before ordering her to sit on the suitcase. She did what she was told and I zipped it up for her. "Thanks Naruto!" she said cheekily and I couldn't help but pinch her cheeks.

"No problem, Brat." I said with a smirk. I was definitely gonna miss her.

"Okay Hanabi, let's load up." Hinata said as she dragged her suitcase off the bed. I felt my stomach drop. It was really happening.

"I got it." I offered taking both of their suitcases from them. She looked at me skeptically.

"Are you sure you can handle it?" she joked and I rolled my eyes and followed them out the door. Neji was talking on his phone while leaning on his car. He smiled at Hanabi as she waved her hand obnoxiously at him. Neji glares at me before walking to the driver's door and getting in.

I put their suit cases in the trunk before slamming it closed. I looked at Hanabi and Hinata joking around and I couldn't help but feel happy for them. They were finally free.

"Okay Hanabi. Say goodbye to Naruto." Hinata's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. Before I could process what happened I was tackled to the ground. I looked to see Hanabi on my stomach with tears in her eyes.

"Thank you, Naruto. Thank you for keeping your promise." She whispered into my shirt. I took a deep breath. It was taking all of my willpower not to cry. I chuckled softly before looking up at Hinata who was wiping tears from her eyes.

"I always keep my promises, ya know." I said ruffling her hair a little bit before sitting up. She smiled at me before getting up. I got up as well and she gave me a proper hug. "Don't be a stranger. Whenever you get tired of that bastard you can always come visit me. My home is always welcome to you…and you too Hinata." I said looking her in the eye she blushed a little and turned away. I chuckled before letting her go. Hanabi smiled at me one last time before entering the car. I sighed before turning to Hinata who was walking back toward the house. I followed behind her closely. As we entered the house, I couldn't help but notice how quite it was. It was gonna be hard getting used to this again.

"No words can describe how thankful I am for you." Hinata whispered and my eyes widened as I stared at her. She was crying. "I've dreamt of this day…so many times I've dreamt of this day…and you made it a reality." She whispered trying to stop her tears from falling. I walked up to her and pulled her into my arms. She hugged me back automatically, letting her head rest on my chest. I chuckled dryly.

"I didn't do much…Plus I used to make your life a living hell during school. This makes us even." I whispered and she laughed a little.

"I totally forgot about that…" she whispered "It's okay…I forgive you. After everything you've done for me, I don't think it matters anymore." She said with a sigh.

"I didn't do much." I repeated and she shook her head before looking up at me.

"You housed my sister, for months. You let her stay here, instead of at the house. You protected her. You did more than you imagine." She said to me looking me straight in the eye. I couldn't help but blush and turn away from her. What was I supposed to do when a pretty girl praises you? Before I could process what happened, I felt a pair of lips on my cheek. I snapped my head in her direction. "Thank you very much Uzumaki Naruto for making my dream into a reality." She whispered with a blush dusting across her face. I was pretty sure I was pink as well. I couldn't believe she just kissed me.

"Y-You're welcome." I stated in shock she gave me a small smile.

"This is not a good-bye. This is a see you later. So I'll see you later?" she asked me and I nodded at her dumbly still shocked that she gave me a kiss. I walked with her out of the house and watched as she rushed over toward Neji's car. As soon as she entered the car, they drove away waving and screaming their farewells. I stared at where they drove off to for a long moment before slowly walking into the house. The sound of the door closing echoed through the house. The blush on my cheeks faded and a look of sadness crossed my face.

I was alone again.

That's a wrap! I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. Don't worry it isn't over yet. Just cuz their safe doesn't mean that there isn't still drama up and about. I mean Hinata still doesn't know that she was pregnant. I'll try to update again soon…hopefully. Have a good day ;)
