Hi, I'm back with a new chapter! Chapter 2! Now that they've decided to join the Arcana Family, what mischief will happen while they are in the family?! Let's find out in this chapter! Let's start!
Normal POV
The motor of the boat speeds across the water as they watch the island of Regalo coming into view.
" That's Regalo, huh?" Naoki said
" That's right and the Arcana Family keeps the peace on Regalo." Nova said
" So, where are we going to meet the other members?" Misaki ask
" They should be gathering soon. So once we arrive, we need to quicken our pace." Liberta said
" Yeah."
Kai squeezed Aichi's hand gently after seeing his dazed look. Aichi responded by smiling back at him before looking out into the distance again. When they arrived at the port, they got out of the boat and started walking towards the mansion of the Arcana Family.
" We're here. Follow us." Felicita said
They followed as they looked around the place.
" It's big..." Shingo said
" Yeah..."
" We've arrived." Luca said
He opened the door and they were greeted by stares inside the room. Aichi and the others backed away a little.
" It's Aichi! You've really grown up!" A tall built man said
Aichi backed away again.
" Hey, Mondo. You're scaring the poor children. Don't mind him, I'm Sumire, the Family's Mama." Sumire said
" Sorry! I am Mondo, the Family's Papa!" Mondo said
" Now then, on to the serie... I am Dante, the director of the Family and the leader of the serie, 'Intelligence'. My serie is the one that deals with diplomacy. The card that I made a deal with is the fourth card, L'Imperatore : The Emperor." Dante said
" I'm Debito. I'm in charge of money circulation, and head of the serie 'Coin'. I made a deal with the ninth card, L'eremita: The Hermit." Debito said
" I am Pace. Head of the serie responsible for auditing, Pace of the 'Club'. I have made a contract with the 11th card, La Forza: Strength." Pace said
" And you know me. I'm the head of the serie, 'Holy Grail'. My serie is responsible for defense." Nova said
" I'm the head of the Sword. My serie is in charge of arbitration." Felicita said
" And the new serie that I created specially for you, Aichi, is the Light. It's in charge of defense as well as some of the matters in the Family. Will you accept it?" Mondo ask
" I... S-Sure... T-Thank you very much, M-Mondo-san..." Aichi said
" Just call me 'Papa' like the others, including calling Sumire 'Mama'." Mondo said
" Y-Yes..."
" But if you want to be the head of 'Light', then you'll have to fight for the position with some of the family members that wants to join. Good luck." Sumire said
" Y-Yeah..."
" We're fine about it but... What about the others...?" Gaillard thought
" No doubt, we'll be unable to fight... What should we do?" Miwa thought
" Now, I'll lead you to the battlefield." Luca said
" We'll watch too." Pace said
" Gotta support someone who's been with the Family for a few years." Debito said
They all followed as the battlefield was already filled with people fighting for the position.
" So, is everyone ready?" Luca ask
" Hold on." Ren said
" I think the Knights can go on. We need to discuss something with the others." Leon said
They were gathered in a circle without the Knights as the four proceeded onto fighting. When they broke out of the circle, they were ready for battle.
" So, who's up next?" Miwa ask
" The Knights beat up most of our members, so it's Gaillard-kun versus Sera-san." Luca said
Silence...
" HUH?!"
" That's by far the worst pair to go against each other!" Kourin said
" Stop the whole fight before it's too late!" Shingo said
" What's wrong with it?" Pace ask
" Chaos will break out if you don't stop it!" Naoki said
They turned to see Gaillard and Sera already glaring at each other.
" Oh no..."
" Let's settle this once and for all, Sera. I'm still not forgiving you for what you did at the sanctuary." Gaillard said
" Still playing the Knight in shining armor? I agree. Let's settle on who's the strongest amongst the Quatre Knights." Sera said
" I vowed to be forever Aichi-san's Knight. I'll keep to that." Gaillard said
" Fine then." Sera said
Both prepared their talismans.
" This is bad! This is really bad!" Jillian said
" It was already hard enough to stop them before!" Sharlene said
" Holy Prominence!"
" Millennium Blizzard!"
The two attacks clashed as their powers caused them to turn to a huge scale.
" This is bad..." Leon said
" Someone stop them!" Kamui said
" No... We can't match that..." Neve said
" Once they are determined, it's impossible to stop them..." Ratie said
" The field will be destroyed at this rate!" Miwa said
" Ren! You stopped them before!" Naoki said
" That was by luck..." Ren said
" Well, we can't keep this going!" Chris said
The attacks turned bigger.
" This is never going to end at this rate!" Misaki said
" Then... Let's go, Leon-kun." Ren said
" Fine."
They went onto the field.
" Sumire-san, please get out of the way!" Ren said
" I'll get Gaillard and you'll handle Sera!" Leon said
" Okay!"
Purple flames shot out of Ren's talisman and water shot out of Leon's talisman. Both attacks hit Gaillard and Sera straight on their faces as the attacks stopped.
" What are you doing?!" Gaillard ask
" You guys were chaotic, who can bear to see you guys destroying the place?" Leon ask
" First, Sera is freezing half the members over there while Gaillard is burning the other half of the members over there." Ren explained
" Oh..."
" I think it's better if you guys go back there right now and apologize before someone disciplines you for your risky actions." Leon said
" Y-Yes..."
The both of them went back as the someone didn't discipline them but the two girls, meaning Misaki and Kourin, gave them a huge scolding in the place of the someone, meaning Aichi, who is being calmed by Kai.
" Do you know the damages you could've done directly to this place?! Do you want to get into trouble the minute you step foot here?!" Misaki scolded
" N-No, ma'am!"
" One more time of this nonsense and the both of us are not going to be the ones who are going to scold you right now, got it?!" Kourin scolded
" Y-Yes, ma'am! We know we're in the wrong, ma'am!"
Sweat drop...
" Let's leave them be..." Liberta said
" Y-Yeah..."
" N-Now then... Who's next...?" Miwa ask
" Let's see... Young Master and Ren-san." Luca said
" I see... Good luck, Aichi-kun." Ren said
" Okay."
Both got onto the field as Aichi secretly kept the ring Kai gave into his pocket and both got their talismans ready.
" May the best fighter win." Ren said
" Same to you." Aichi said
Blaster Dark's sword appeared on Ren's hand as Blaster Blade's sword appeared on Aichi's hand.
" Start!"
Both swords clashed and clashed at each other as the two jumped back again.
" Hey, this looks familiar..." Naoki said
" Isn't this..." Jillian said
" That fight at the High School Championship?" Sharlene said
" You're right." Misaki said
" I can remember that clearly, that fight... This looks like the splitting image of that day..." Kourin said
" Don't lose, Aichi!" Naoki cheered
Both swords clashed again.
" Hold it one minute... How do they even know how to fight?" Kamui ask
" It's our talismans... Looks like Blaster Blade and Blaster Dark are the ones that's fighting each other." Leon said
" Blaster Blade and Blaster Dark?!"
" Now that you've said it... It does look like a stance that a skilled warrior would take on." Kourin said
" What about Aichi and Ren?" Kai ask
" Probably able to be in control of their minds, but their avatars are the ones that are taking over their body movements." Chris said
Ren's sword was knocked off his hand as Aichi's sword pointed at him.
" By the name of the 20th card, Il Giudizio: Judgement, I proclaim Aichi as the winner." Sumire said
" Great fight, Blade." Dark said
" Same to you, Dark." Blade said
The two went back into Aichi and Ren's talismans with their swords as Aichi and Ren were back.
" Ow... I can't believe they strained us so much..." Ren whined
" I don't think they mean it... They do love fighting each other after all..." Aichi said
" Yeah..."
They went back to the others as the others went up to fight with the four Psyqualians giving them some powers to fight.
~ A few battles later~
Aichi was able to win all the matches as he was proclaimed the leader and head of the seire officially.
" Congratulations, Aichi!" Naoki said
" T-Thank you..." Aichi said
" If only Kai was interested in joining this... Otherwise, we could see you and him fighting each other..." Ren said
" Exactly why I don't want to fight..." Kai thought
" Now then, I'll lead you guys to your rooms now." Luca said
" Actually, I have a room of my own here... I'll go by myself..." Aichi said
" Huh? But..." Luca said
" Don't worry. I'll meet you guys later." Aichi said
Aichi went off as Kai followed behind him. Aichi arrived at a room as he fished out a key and unlocked the door.
~ Flashback start~
Aichi had informed Shizuka about his decision, of course, she had declined it at first but with Aichi's determination, she accepted it.
" Here. This is the key to your father's room. I'm sure he has left some things for you inside there." Shizuka said
" Yeah... Thank you, Mother..." Aichi thanked
He left after that.
~ Flashback end~
He stepped into the room as he scanned through the room. There were shelves of books, a table and lamp beside a big bed, another table near the shelves and a cupboard to put his clothes in. He moved towards the table near the shelves and found a picture of his father, mother and his baby self. He put the picture face down as he moved on to pack his clothes into the cupboard before looking through the books his father left there.
" There's so many things in here... Yet..." Aichi thought
He placed back the book as a knock on the door caused him to drop the next book he was trying to take. He picked it up and went over to the door. He opened it and saw Kai standing there.
" Kai-kun... Hello. Shouldn't you be in your room?" Aichi ask
" I told them I would share a room with you, you won't mind, right?" Kai ask
" Sure. Come in and pack your stuff." Aichi replied
" Yeah."
Kai entered the place and started packing his stuff.
" How did they allow you to be with me anyway?" Aichi ask
" Simple. Just a tiny glare would send that Luca to say 'yes'." Kai replied
Aichi sweat dropped.
" What are you reading?" Kai ask
" Some books my father left. But I just don't know why most of them are spell books..." Aichi said
Kai got up and went to grab another book too.
" You don't mind if I read one, do you?" Kai ask
" Sure. I don't mind." Aichi replied
Both began to read and read slowly each pages to find at least a clue about Aichi's taraccos at least.
" Nothing... Why did my father join the Family in the first place?" Aichi ask
" I'm sure he has reasons. Come on, sit down and rest. You've been searching for a very long time." Kai said
" Yeah..."
Kai let Aichi sit on the bed as he continued to look through some spell books, until one caught his interest...
The others have all finished packing and were waiting for Kai and Aichi in Ren's room, which was close by.
" What's taking them so long?!" Naoki ask
" Who knows. We already told Kai to meet us here in an hour." Misaki said
The ground suddenly shook as they rushed outside to see Aichi and Kai's room rumbling, luckily, none of the other rooms were in the same condition as theirs so nobody knew. Naoki knocked on the door.
" Hey, Aichi, Kai!" Naoki shouted
" Kai-kun, what did you do?!" Aichi exclaimed
" I don't know! I just did it!" Kai exclaimed
" Hurry up and stop it!" Aichi shouted
" I don't know how!" Kai shouted
There were screams and shouts inside the room as they opened the door to find themselves dodging something flying past them.
" Hurry up and shut the door!" Kai shouted
They shut the door as they finally saw the thing flying around the room. It was a sword surrounded by fire.
" What is that?!" Leon exclaimed
" Kai, what did you do?!" Ren ask
" I told you, I don't know!" Kai replied
They dodged the sword again.
" Anyhow, we need to stop that thing!" Neve said
" Right!"
" Holy Prominence!"
" Steel Wall!"
" Fairy Masquerade!"
" Millennium Blizzard!"
The attacks didn't go through as a barrier had formed around the sword. With a resonated fire attack, the sword knocked out most of them, except for Kai and Aichi.
" Aichi, look out!" Kai shouted
He hugged Aichi tightly as the sword approached them.
" No... Kai-kun!" Aichi thought
'Angel' glowed on his back as the room was engulfed in a bright light. Kai opened his eyes to find the sword floating in bright red aura in front of him and Aichi fainted in his arms.
" Aichi! Wake up!" Kai called
" Toshiki Kai. You're the second person to awaken us other than that boy's father, although it was by accident. Only 'Angel' could stop my berserk powers which were awakened by accidental spells." The sword said
" I awakened you?!" Kai exclaimed
" That boy's father has given us a task to choose a new owner and protect his son from harm. You are the new chosen owner to use us, however, not carelessly like just now. And..." The sword said
A mark glowed on Kai's right hand.
" We bestow upon you the 2nd Special Taracco, 'Il Drago': The Dragon. Will you accept our contract and in return to protect this boy?" The sword ask
Kai looked back at Aichi again before remembering Aichi's kidnapping that happened in front of him but he was useless to help Aichi before coming to a decision.
" I accept. I want to be strong enough to protect him." Kai said
" Then it's settled. You now can use our spells. Good luck, Toshiki Kai. Oh, and hand these spell books to Aichi once he wakes up. His father told him to learn them so that he can bring his Taraccos to proper and full use." The sword said
Four books appeared in front of Kai. One of the cover has 'Angel's' mark on it, while another has 'Silent's' mark on it, while the third one has 'Song's' mark on it and the fourth book has 'Dragon's' mark on it.
" R-Right..."
" You can summon me anytime you want with your book. So learn well." The sword said
Kai nodded as the light dissipated and he was back in the room with the others still knocked out and Aichi still sleeping. Kai set Aichi on the bed to rest as he set the four books on the table by the bedside before sitting down on the bed beside Aichi to wait for the others to wake up.
~ An hour later~
The others got up and looked around.
" Where's that sword?" Naoki ask
" It's over here." Kai replied
He pointed to the book he was holding, since he was bored of waiting, so to waste time, he was looking through the various spells.
" You're kidding, right?!" Kourin exclaimed
Kai flipped to a page and showed it to them. It was a picture of the sword.
" How did you get it back in there?" Leon ask
" Simple. Aichi helped me unconsciously with his 'Angel' powers and this book apparently chose me as its new owner." Kai said
" Huh?!"
The exclamation caused Aichi to wake up and look around.
" What's going on?" Aichi ask
" You're awake. You feeling better?" Kai ask
" Yes... I feel sleepy for some reason though." Aichi replied
" It's nothing." Kai said
" Is everyone alright?!" Aichi ask
" Yeah. Seems like that sword is from the book that Kai's holding and Kai is its new owner." Ren explained
" Huh... Amazing, Kai-kun!" Aichi said
" I think you're the one that's going to be even more amazing." Kai said
" Huh?"
He gave the three books to Aichi.
" What's this?" Aichi ask
" The sword asked me to give these to you." Kai said
" H-Huh?!"
" It said that it's for you to learn how to control your taraccos and put them to proper and full use." Kai explained
" I see..."
Aichi heard a voice in his head and waved his hand in front of the books as they shrunk to miniature size for him to bring around.
" What did you just do?" Misaki ask
" I don't know myself... I just heard a voice and then..." Aichi said
The voice was heard again as one of the books glowed and turned bigger, it was the 'Song' book. Kai looked at Aichi's thigh as he noticed his mark glowing. The book opened up as it wrote something on the blank page.
' I am Song. This is one of my powers. There are some others but discovering it yourself is better than knowing it now. Good luck.' It wrote
The book closed as it turned miniature again and went onto Aichi's palm. The mark on Aichi's thigh stopped glowing as well.
" Well now, at least we know now." Naoki said
" It's getting late, we better go eat some dinner before the others gets worried." Misaki said
" Right."
They arrived at the dining hall as the others were there.
" You're late!" Liberta said
" Sorry... We had a little bit of trouble just now..." Aichi said
" Now that you're finally here, let's eat!" Liberta said
" Yeah."
They sat at the table and started eating as it was mostly silent and with only the sound of people eating.
" Thanks for the meal."
Aichi and the others left first as they headed back to their own rooms.
" That was awkward..." Aichi said
" You've only been with them for awhile. I'm not surprised." Kai said
" Yeah, you're right... But... It feels really lonely here even with everyone here... We won't be able to play Vanguard happily like last time... And everyone's lives are always at stake... I'm worried... If only..." Aichi said
" Now don't go saying that you shouldn't have met us. It's not your fault. You just don't know about this." Kai said
" That might be true but... I'm putting everyone's lives at risk here... I don't know what to think about anymore..." Aichi said
" Then don't think about anything. Don't worry, everyone will be fine. Now you just lie down and rest, don't think about anything anymore." Kai said
" But..."
" Go to sleep. Don't disobey me." Kai said
" Okay..."
Aichi closed his eyes as he slept almost immediately. Kai tucked him in as he turned off the lamp before going out. Mondo stood in front of the door as Kai closed it and leaned against a nearby wall.
" Do you need something? If you do, then please tell him whatever you want tomorrow. He's sleeping right now." Kai said
" I'm not here to talk to Aichi but I'm here to talk to you." Mondo said
Kai raised an eyebrow.
" So, what do you need?" Kai ask
" I know you know Aichi longer than anyone in the Family does. Tell me, does Aichi like fighting?" Mondo ask
" If you put it on actual fighting, no, he doesn't. In fact, he doesn't know a single thing about his father's business at all." Kai said
" I thought he would say it to Aichi." Mondo said
" According to Aichi, no one told him anything. So he's just living like a normal boy except those few times..." Kai said but kept the last part a murmur
" Did you say something?" Mondo ask
" No, it's nothing." Kai replied
" But it was Aichi's decision to come here." Mondo said
" He followed what we decided on. He didn't intend to come here in the first place. He just followed what we think." Kai said
" Then..."
" Aichi's not the type to fight in real sense. He never has. The fighting in the arena just now was thanks to his talisman, but it was never him." Kai said
" Then... What's your relationship with him?" Mondo ask
Kai had to hide a slight blush from Mondo as he turned his head away.
" Let's just say... It's complicated." Kai said
" How complicated can it get?" Mondo ask
" Really, really complicated." Kai replied
" He is always attached to me when he was young." Mondo said
" Well now he is attached to me and besides, that was when he was 1-3 years old." Kai said
" You want to bet on it?!" Mondo argued
" You bet I will." Kai retorted
A spark flew between them as Gaillard saw it.
" What are you doing?" Gaillard ask
" We just betted on who Aichi will like most. Although, his reason of liking is a parental like." Kai said
" But I'm the stronger one!" Mondo argued
" We'll see about that." Kai retorted again
A tick mark appeared as a punch was delivered to Kai.
" What are you doing, Gaillard?!" Kai ask
" How could you bet on Aichi-san?! He's not a plaything!" Gaillard said
" Well if you want to argue with us then aren't you betting on it as well?! Your 'I'm forever your knight' play is getting on my nerves! Don't think I don't know how you feel about Aichi too!" Kai said
" Wha-?! Why you!" Gaillard said
Sparks flew between the three as the door opened and Aichi was standing there, rubbing his tired eyes after waking up from the loud argument.
" What's going on here...? Why are the three of you arguing...?" Aichi ask
" It's nothing. Let's go back to sleep, Aichi." Kai said
" Y-Yeah... U-Uh... Goodnight, Gaillard-kun and... P-Papa..." Aichi said
The door closed behind as the other two left for their own rooms.
And that's the end of this chapter! Aichi's going to be in a whole lot of trouble! Mondo wants his parental love, Kai and him have already gone into a deep love relationship and Gaillard has a secret crush on Aichi! What will happen to him?! Find out in the next chapter!
