Chapter 70

There is a mystery that every person tries to solve... Where do we belong?

"Bandages… Check…

Towels… Check…

Mitts… Check…

Squeeze… Check…"

Rito got up, it was finally time, Kazuhira and Yami were going to fight and Rito was going to be Yami's second. It was the third time he was checking the things to the fight, making sure he was not forgetting anything. He put everything in the bag and left the room.

"Oh Rito, you are already leaving?" Asked Mikan seeing carrying the bag, "But I thought the fights only begin in two hours and it's not that far away from home".

"Yeah I know," He said scratching his cheek, "But I don't think I'm going to settle down until I get there".

"Look at you, all worried about Yami-chan's fight," She said poking his forehead with her index finger, "who would thought?"

"Well she is my friend…" He replied smiling a little.

"Maybe you consider a little more than you think," She said under her breath and turning her head.

"What was that?"

"Nothing… Anyway we should leave in an hour or so," She said smiling, "Give my best regards while we are not there!"

Rito nodded and left his house. As he walked to the stadium where the fight was going to be held, he looked at sky, that had an orange color painted on it, and smelled the air, so fresh. It was spring and soon they were going to have their final tests and then summer vacation, sometimes he would feel sad after spring since it remembered Haruna, but now he felt better than last year. He felt the breeze in his face, moving his hair gently and it felt nice, like someone was warmly touching his face.

'I think today it's going to be great,' Rito thought without any worries in the world.

"I WILL DESTROY THIS WORLD!" Shouted Nemesis very angry.

"Miss please!" Said a man a little scared sweating bullets behind the counter, "Try to understand, every portion of dango comes with 4 balls, with you want more you need to ask more."

"Oh fine but I will take these dangos anyway…" She said taking the stick with dango off the store.

"These filthy humans… One day they will all bow to me and give as many as dango as I want…"

"Nemesis?" Mea said surprise in seeing her old master walking in the streets of Sainan. "What are you doing here?"

Nemesis turned to her old apprentice with a sly smile, "Well looks who is here? What you did was truly regrettable, you will never be able to live your purpose if you live here… Are you okay with that, Mea?"

Mea stopped for a second and then smiled,"… Master… Yes… I'm okay with that… I have also realized that the battlefield isn't the only place where a weapon can live. This town is where I can do it."

Nemesis sighed disappointed, "How boring… I have one less precious servant".

Nemesis turned her back and started to walk away. Mea walked in her direction.

"Master, you too, let's live in this town!" Mea said worried. Although Nemesis used her, Mea still cared about her.

"Don't make me laugh, Mea. Enjoy this city for now. But soon things will change," Nemesis said with a sinister smile on her face that chills up Mea's spine.

Nemesis disappeared leaving Mea thinking what she was going to do.

Rito finally arrived at stadium where the match was going to be held. He looked around and didn't see many people.

'I almost forgot that I arrived one hour and a half before starting…' He thought blushing embarrassed thinking that would be more people like him.

As he entered the stadium he started to feel his hand getting sweater and his heart beating fast. After entering, there was a security guard looking after the entrance. He had a firm posture and his arms were behind his back.

"Hello, can I help?" He asked Rito with stoic voice.

The guardian gulped, "I… I… I am here to help! I am with… with… Kazuhira Hitoshi team!"

"Oh you are on Champion's team!?" The guard said excited and happy as he quickly grabbed Rito's hand and started to shake it, "You are so lucky! He is the best!"

Bewildered by the rapid change of behavior of the guard, the boy could only nod in response. Realizing the mistake he made, the guard quickly reassembled his posture, placed a hand in front of the mouth and pretended to cough. "Anyway… You must be looking for the waiting room, if you go to the right you will go the red corner and if you go the left you will find the blue corner."

"… Hm… Is there a problem if go and see the ring?" Rito asked still a bit nervous.

"Sure, no problem, just don't take too long," The fan of Kazuhira said, "Just follow this aisle and you will end up in the ring."

"OK, Thanks!" The kid replied doing a respectful bow.

He quickly walked to the ring, when he arrived he saw all the lights off, the stadium was huge, he guessed that could hold about 5000 spectators but there wasn't any spectator yet, there were only some people still doing the final adjustments for the fights, the only other person there who wasn't working there, was Yami. He slowly walked to her direction seeing her staring at the ring, was she nervous?

"Hello, Rito," said Yami in her usual cold tone.

"Wow didn't know that you saw me," he said as he approached her.

"I heard you voice coming from the aisle," She said taking her eyes from the ring to look at him, "They say this one of the biggest hall to hold a boxing match, I guess the only reason I'm fighting here is because Hitoshi-sensei is fighting here…"

"That's not-!" He interjected.

"I hope one day, I fight here because of my own credit," She said looking very confident.

Rito looked at Yami with some admiration, "You're amazing, Yami,"

"Ah?" Yami looked at him surprised.

"You're so calm, the match is just in a few hours and you're so calm. I'm not even fighting and I'm nervous. Maybe being in so many battles made you so comfortable in fighting." Rito said revealing his feelings.

Yami turned her head to look to the ring, "… Does it look that way?"

Rito looked at her confused, she showed him her hand, and it was shaking.

"I'm frantic, the second I entered this room this feeling started," She said closing her hand, "But I'm not scared, I'm shaking with anticipation… I want to know what is to fight in the ring, it's different from the feeling of being of assassin and I want to know…"

She turned to the hall, "I better go prepare myself for the fight, and you better come too,"

He nodded and followed her. As they walk out of the ring Yami looked at one corner thoughtful, Rito noticed and stopped.

"Do you think we can go to the waiting room on the red corner?" Yami asked a bit soft sounding like embarrassed to ask.

"Yeah I guess..." Rito answered not really sure after all it was his first time as a second.

They left the area and walked fast to the red corner waiting room which was on the other side of the stadium compared to the blue corner. They made it to the waiting room and Rito knocked the room.

"Hitoshi-sensei! Hitoshi-sensei! Hitoshi-sensei!" He called.

Didn't take long for him to answer, he opened the door and saw his two pupils.

"Oh what are you two guys doing here? Shouldn't you two be in the other room?" Kaz asked.

Kaz was still in his normal attires with the only difference was that his hands were with traditional boxing bandages.

"Well... I came to wish you good look," Rito said smiling to him. "Yami said that she wanted to see you"

"Sensei can I talk you for a second?" The blonde asked.

Kaz nodded and Rito decided to leave the two alone. He took a quick look at them before going to the waiting room of the blue corner. He thought he would feel the anxiety again now that he was alone again, but he wasn't. Seeing Yami nervous but focused somehow made him feel a bit better.

"I'm sure everything will be alright..." He said to himself.

He then felt his cell phone vibrate, he took the phone in his pocket.
"We are leaving home! We will meet Mea at the stadium! See you soon!
Mikan"

As he read the message he heard someone calling him. He turned and saw Yami.

"Everything alright?" The guardian said as he waited to her get close.

Yami nodded and they walked to their waiting room.

"One more thing," Yami said turning to him and picking his attention, "Can… you make a braid again? With a braid, my hair won't get in the way during the fight".

"Yeah I can do that," He said smiling to her.

Later that day,

Yami's match was about to begin. She was shadow-boxing to warm up. She started to think about her opponent. Her opponent looked like she had experience and didn't want to have any interaction with her. She appeared to be dangerous.

"Don't be so nervous, you trained for this." The boss, who was going to be at her corner, was trying to cheer him up. She nodded in response. After a few minutes the boss motioned to the door.

"It's time," It was time for her debut.

She nod and walked off the door followed by Rito.

She walked down the aisle. She felt nervous. Her heart was racing but she was sure that if she followed her sensei's instructions she'd be fine.

Check it out, Yami-chan must be the next." Mikan pointed towards the scorecard.

*Nami Ozuma vs. Konjiki no Yami*

"I bet she will K.O. in the first round." Mea said folding her arms.

"...but what if she's fighting actually someone really strong?" Nana said appearing to be worried.

"No way could that ever happen! Anyways, let's go watch." Mikan said confident.

The five of them Lala, Momo, Nana, Mikan and Mea were already on their seats. They were at the 3rd row on the first floor. Mikan made sure to buy a very good spot to see the fight.

"I just hope her fight be a little more fun. The two other fights were lame!" Nana said putting her hands behind her head.

The first two matches weren't very impressive. They had both ended with a decision, and now it was time for Yami. Yami came walking down the aisle wearing a black trunks a white tank top and black boxing gloves.

"Wow, she looks so cool!" Lala squeezed seeing Yami walking to the ring.

Yami proceeded to the middle on the ring where she met her opponent. The crowd was not very happy to see Yami. They were yelling against her all the time during her entrance. Yet Yami kept her cool.

"No matter how you look at it, that's still Yami." Mikan said noticing that Yami looked very focused, not getting any distraction from the crowd against her.

"Hmmm... Rito look really scared and stiff don't you think?" Nana said looking at Rito.

It was true, Rito was sweating even though he didn't do anything and his eyes were widened.

"Go Rito! Do your best!" Lala cheered for her best friend.

Hearing his name made him go stiff even more.

"Hmmm, check out Yami's opponent." Momo said looking to the other corner.

"Eh?"

They looked to Yami opponent; she was an adult woman with black hair tied in a bun and brown eyes. Her trunks and top were red. She was taller than Yami and had a body more shaped than Yami.

"She looks pissed!" Remarked the red haired assassin.

"I hope Yami be alright." Said Rito's sister getting a bit nervous after seeing the opponent.

Meanwhile in the ring, the two fighters were in their corners ready to fight, Nami looked at Yami, who had her back to the ring and was listening to the Boss last instructions.

'She still a rocky, she will need some time to adjust to the pressure of the ring… I bet she will run around until gets used,' Analyzed Yami's opponent, 'I will catch her off guard and attack her to death… No mercy!'

Yami turned to the ring and reflected what she talked with Kazuhira before.

"Sensei… How do you want me to fight?" Yami asked with a sincere voice.

Kaz looked surprised for a second, he never thought that Yami had this size, it was very pure. He smiled, "The girl that you're fighting is hothead, so watch her and stay calm. Wait for her to drop her guard. Catch her when her guard is down and right cross directly at her temple. That should black her out."

Yami nodded accepting what her coach said.

*ding*ding*ding*

The bell rung and the match began

"Start!" The referee yelled.

Both fighters moved to center ring and touched the gloves Yami took a step back but Nami Nami dashed in an incredible speed surprising everyone in the crowd closing the gap. Even Yami was surprised. Nami sent a straight right in direction of Yami's head. But Yami dodged by moving to the right and then stepped back. Her opponent closed the gap, threw some jabs. Every time a punch was close to make contact with Yami's face, she bent her body avoiding the damage. Yami escaped the barrage with her high speed footwork and gained some space again.

'You little,' Nami said getting pissed off that she wasn't able to land a hit, 'Are you just going to keep running away?'

She rushed in Yami direction, but Yami was expecting this, she knew exactly what she was going to do, so Yami charged as well. Nami attacked, swinging for Yami's beautiful face, but the latter dodged with extreme speed. Her retaliation came as a complete surprise, Nami not even seeing the blow that was planted in the right side of her stomach. She was left breathless by the first strike, and then a second slammed into her face and sent her careening to the ground.

"Down!" The referee announced.

Yami moved to the neutral corner, but as she walked the referee crossed his arms.

"And it's over!" The announcer shouted, "With that, the new rookie won her first match in the first round!"

"WOW that's was incredible, Yami-chan!" Mikan screamed.

"Wow, Yami sure is strong," Momo commented.

"She sure is stronger than when we fought," Lala said tapping her chin with a finger.

"That's Yami onee-chan for you," Mea said proud folding her arms.

Yami walked to the center where the referee pulled her right arm in the air.

"The winner by K.O. Konjiki no Yami!" The referee announced.

The loser left the ring without saying anything, meanwhile Rito entered the ring, happy.

"You did it! You won!" Rito said throwing one fist in the air as he run to her, "You're amazing! Sorry if I couldn't help you".

"Actually you did help me," she said with her cold voice, "If you haven't trained with me I wouldn't be prepared".

He nodded and looked at the audience who once was against them was now shouting her name, he couldn't not smile after hearing everyone shouting her name.

The applause from the audience fell on her like rain. Yami couldn't believe it. Feeling embarrassed she quickly thanked the audience and quickly left the ring.

"Hehehe, I guess Yami-onee-chan still shy," Mea commented laughing to herself. The other girls also chuckled seeing Yami running to the backstage followed by a clumsy Rito.

"Now, we should head back to the audience stands," Rito said to Yami while they were in the backstage. The boss, had parted ways with them heading to where Kazuhira was, "I don't think it will take too long before Sensei fights".

Yami nodded.

"You should be proud! You fought marvelous".

"Yes you fought very well," A voice echoed from behind them.

They turned and Rito widened his eyes surprised to see who just said that. It was Kazuhira's opponent. His name was Che Jounbong. He possessed a noticeably dark skin tone and his height was 5'7½". He was a bald man with eyes that are low in depth, giving him a mocking yet menacing look. He was already dressing his shorts for the fight. What was he doing here? Did he came to see Yami?

"So… you're not only pretty but you're also know how to fight…" He said as he walked in their direction, "Hehe… You are giving me butterflies. After I win this fight, let's have some fun~ Ho ho".

Rito moved in front of Yami, offended with what he said to Yami.

"Hey stop!" Rito angrily said, "You should back away!"

"Oh, it's that so?" Che said amused, "Are you her boyfriend? You know you can only call yourself a man if you can protect your woman".

Che entered in his stance as Rito unconsciously prepared himself for a fight, but Yami didn't say a thing she turned her back and kept walking. Both men stopped their discussion and looked to her back, "Before you saying any statement," She said stopping for a moment, "you first have to prove yourself… And I don't think you can win…"

And then she kept walking, the guardian decided to follow her and Che decided to ignore her last statement, he was going to win that. As they walked not a word was exchanged, Rito started to feel bad with the coldness that she was giving to him, he was only trying to protect her, yet it didn't seen that she liked or needed. He sighed thinking that he screwed up again.

"Yam-"

She stopped and not even turned to him, "I'm going to change my clothes, you can go to the stands," She said before entering in the changing room.

He sighed and lowered his head, once again he misinterpreted Yami's. As he slowly walked to where Mikan and the others were, he thought, 'why do I keeping doing this to Yami? She is not weak, she can take care of herself… She doesn't need me like that… I'm so stupid… Why do I keep protecting her like that? It was… unconscious…'

"Rito-onni-chan!" Mea screamed with joy him her student/brother walking to their direction. "Over here!"

"Hey everyone!" It'd taken Rito longer to get to the audience stands from backstage than he'd expected… Maybe because he walked slower than usual.

"You took some time to get here," Mea pointed seeing that Yami's fight was over 15 minutes ago, "Did something happened?"

"Or did something happened between you two?" Mikan asked trying to tease him.

He widened his eyes and thought about what happened between him Yami and Che. Momo noticed the sudden change of reaction and wondered.

"Nothing happened," Rito heard a familiar voice coming from behind. He turned and saw Yami.

"Yami-chan!/Yami-onne-san!" Lala, Mikan and Mea said in union standing up from their sites.

As the girls went to congratulate the blonde assassin, Rito took the opportunity to sit as far away as he could to avoid Yami, so he sat on the last chair on the left from their reservation.

"So... I guess something did happened," Momo said elbowing Rito's arm.

"W-what are you talking about?" he asked embarrassed and moving his torso to the right.

"Oh don't give me that, Rito-san. I can see that you are acting strange," she said chuckling a bit.

Rito scratched the back of his head, "I think I did something and now Yami is upset with me..."

Momo took a look at Yami who was preparing to take a sit. "She doesn't look upset to me, Rito-san".

"You think?" Rito asked surprised.

Then all of the sudden the lights turned down.

"We will now begin... tonight's main event! The fight for the OPBF belt will start now!"

Everyone's attention turned to the ring. It was time for Kazuhira Hitoshi to enter.

"We have been waiting for this one!"

"Take him down like you always do, man!"

Rito's group saw both fighters heading for the ring. In the blue corner entered the challenger with a towel on his head and his team behind him.

"First off, it's the challenger! 35 fights 30 wins, 30 KOs, Yes each victory came by KO. At the weight-in, he already declared today will be another KO Victory for him! This is Che Jounbong!"

Che entered the ring and lifted his arms and roared.

"And in the red corner, our OPBF champion Kazuhira Hitoshi has arrived. 24 fights 23 wins only one lost. Moving at supersonic speeds, he throws punches that strike like lightning!"

Kazuhira entered in the ring along with the Boss and breathed slowly.

"Kazuhira," The Boss said calling the blonde attention, "focus on the opponent, you know what you have to do!"

Kazuhira nodded, he was now ready.

The two opponents walked to the middle of the ring. As they walked, Che looked at Kaz, while Kaz looked to to the floor, appearing to be thinking in something else but when they arrived in the middle he looked in the Che's eyes with serenity. The referee gave the last instructions but the pair didn't listen, they were too concentrated to listen.
"I will mess you up!" Che said angrily to Rito's sensei.
"... Go for it..." Kaz replied before turning his back

"It is finally time to the OPBF champion show us what he's got," Screamed the narrator of the fight, "Let's see if the challenger will be able to stand against golden boxer…"

"Golden boxer?" Asked Mea raising one eyebrow.

"That's because sensei is the only Japanese champion with blonde hair," Rito explained.

*ding*ding*ding*

The bell rung and the match began

"Start!" The referee yelled.

In the ring Kazuhira placed his left foot farther in front of the right foot, turning so far that Che could see his back. At first look, it appeared that he was wide open, but in reality the Filipino had very few options for where to throw a punch.

"That position… it reminds me a position of a swordsman," Nana commented noticing his pattern.

"You're not wrong, most of swordsmen who fight holding sword with one hand, use a stance like that. That way, the opponent only has one place to hit it," Remarked Mea. "it's a very a good position, but it's also a very trick stance to attack".

"As Mea said, this stance is usually used for swords that you can hold the sword with one hand, that means you will only use that arm," Yami explained, "The same can be said in this scenario, right now, he can only perform jabs, if sensei wants to use his left arm he will need spin his body every time as long as he use this stance."

"But… can he knock out someone with only jabs?" Mikan asked worried.

"… That's what we gonna see…" Yami answered turning her attention to the match.

Che started closing the distance, carefully watching his opponent. He knew that Kaz was dangerous, so he intended in getting closer where it was he's specialty. But after one step, Kaz vanished. Instinctively, Che raised his guard and took several punches in the arms. When it stopped he looked around searching for Kaz who wasn't in front of him anymore. He found him on his left already some feet away. Kaz kept spinning around his opponent waiting to see if he was going to make a move.

'If you won't make a move...' The blonde thought to himself, 'then I will'.

Kaz moved foward launching a quick combination against the Filipino who tightened his guard. Kaz kept his offensive pushing his opponent back.

"Hm... your sensei is really fighting incredibly offensively," Mea remarked.

"I'm intrigued..." Yami leaned forward getting curious. Although the crowd was happy to see their champion fighting this way, she was thinking that something was off. She saw him training and he never acted reckless.

Thanks to Kazuhira's offensive, Che was at the corner, he looked behind and saw that he was trapped. Che gritted his teeth in silent fury. He knew that the champion was strong but didn't think he was that strong. Che couldn't accept that, he worked very hard for this. He didn't have any privilege, if he was there it was all thanks to his effort. With determination, he moved forward surprising Kaz.

'My family is waiting for me. I won't go home empty handed. I will take your world ranking… and then… I will take the world' He thought as he grit his teeth and move forward.

With an incredible speed, he strikes with a barrage of punches on Kaz, who dodged every punch but wasn't able to move forward either. And then sent a powerful straight punch in Kazuhira's head direction and hit, thankfully Kaz blocked with his left hand. Seeing that his punches were connecting was more than enough to motivate to continue.

"This opponent is really strong, Rito," Said Mikan looking at her brother, "If he keeps landing punches, maybe one of them can really hurt him."

Rito didn't answer; he was too focusing on the match to answer anything. He knew fighters can be extremely motivated if they have an incredible desire for something… but…

"If there one thing about sensei that I know… is that you should never be comfortable while fighting him," Rito said noticing in the pattern that his sensei was taking.

Meanwhile, Che was seizing the opportunity by launching a powerful barrage which Kaz blocked with both his hands. But even though he was on defensive, he didn't move an inch. He then spun to the right with his high speed footwork escaping from the downpour of heavy blows, but Che quickly follows him. He threw a huge swing which is blocked by Kaz's left shoulder. Che smirked knowing that the Japanese champion could only run to the right. Like he thought, Kaz moved to right and Che proceeded throwing a left hook.

'You are mine!' Che thought seeing his punch getting closer to the blond.

And… nothing! Che felt no impact… a cold shiver ran down his spine as for a second he panicked.

'What just happened? Did he disappear?' He thought as his eyes widened.

He turned his head to the left and saw Kaz with his arm extended. Che prepared his right hand, as Kaz returned his extended arm close to his body. Che took a step closer and then collapsed on the ground. The referee rushed over to the Pilipino as Kaz turned his back to the corner. After taking a look, the referee crossed his hands and ended the match. The crowd went wild as the blonde Japanese rose his hand.

"Wow that was spectacular!" Mikan said raising from her sitting and clapping her hands.

"Wow Rito I can see why you are strong," Lala said smiling to her friend, "he really is amazing!"

"The sensei of yours is truly terrifying," said Mea truly surprised from what he has done, "He only look like he was in trouble to lure his opponent. And since he was drawn in so deep by that, when he moved to the side at high speed, it must have looked like he'd disappeared."

"But… It isn't something that you and Yami can do?" Nana asked.

"Yeah… but… to have a simple human to developed without any training from some from space is really surprising," the red haired assassin replied looking to Nana, "furthermore the sharpness of that counter punch… I bet that guy didn't even know what hit him…"

For Che it may look like nothing happened but the moment that he was throwing the left hook, Kaz speed up his movements faster than Che could see. He moved to Che's left side and quickly punched on the temple. A precise punch that Che never expected… a perfect counter.

After a few minutes, Kaz was back in the locker room with reporters from all kind of sports magazine were around him trying to get a word from him, Rito and Yami were able to sneak in since they were part of the gym, but they didn't stayed together, Rito was still too embarrassed to stay too close to her, so he preferred to stay on the opposite side of her, Yami really didn't care about that at that moment, her attention was more focused on what Kazuhira was going to say.

"What was that punch?" One of the reporters asked.

The blonde Japanese closed his eyes, everyone was surprised by the sudden reaction, as the seconds passed the tension was building, and he opened the eyes with a serious look upon his face.

"It was message," he said serene, "I could finish the fight as I usually end, but I wanted to send a message." Everyone besides the Boss looked confused, "There is no one left for me in the pacific for me to fight. So I'm going after the world." Kazuhira calmly said. Shocked everyone realized what he meant, "I'm sending this message for the world champion, I'm going after the belt,"

Everyone was shocked by this revelation, did Kaz just challenged the world champion to a fight? All the reporters left the in the instant after this, they all had a new information and they couldn't wait to publish, they didn't even cared about how the fight went, there was something bigger in their plate. After a few minutes, there was only The Boss, Rito and Yami left.

"Well, now it's done. Are you sure about this?" The Boss asked a bit concerned. "You know that you make a bold move and that they may come after your head,".

"I'm pretty sure. I think it's the only way for me to get the belt," The blonde sighed relieved. Everything went according to the plan. He then noticed that Rito and Yami were there.

"Hey, you guys, I didn't saw you guys entering! Come closer!" Kaz said making a move with his hand for them to come closer.

The guardian and the assassin walked to their sensei.

"So tell me, how was your fight?"

"Just like you said, she came rushing and lost her cool after missing some shoots," Yami said, "When I understood her pattern I charged and punched in the temple just like you said".

"And tell me… how do you felt in the ring?" Kazuhira asked smiling to her.

"I felt nervous when I stepped in the ring… but when I was fighting I felt something different… different than anything that I felt in space… I would like explore more." She said ending her sentence with a smile.

The blond adult was happy that she felt that way, "And if you keep training and fighting I know that you will accomplish great things!"

They stayed there talking a little longer until Kazuhira noticed that it was getting late, so they said their goodbyes and Rito and Yami left. Outside of the locker room the other girls were waiting for them.

"Hey you two! We saw a bunch of guys running from the locker room, what happened?" Momo asked curious about what happened.

"Kazuhira-sensei challenged the world champion for a fight!" Rito told them excited.

"Wow! Really? That's big!" Mikan said surprised. She didn't know much about her brother sensei but she knew that fighting for the world champion belt was something huge.

"So… What should we do now?" Nana asked.

"I think we should celebrate Yami-chan's victory!" Mikan shouted very happy, "what do you think?"

"Hmm… Actually I'm feeling tired, I think I will go home, we can celebrate other day," Yami said surprising everyone one, "but before that… Can I have a moment with Rito alone?"

Mikan's face lit up after she said that.

"Yeah sure!" Mikan said taking the lead, "we are going then".

Mikan pushed almost everyone leaving Rito and Yami alone.

'Ganbatte, Yami-chan!' Mikan thought taking a quick glance at her best friend.

As they walked away, Rito gulped expecting Yami to yell at him, but she just didn't, instead she softly asked, "Why did you try to protect me? Did you think that guy could harm me?"

"No!" He answered almost immediately, 'to tell the truth, he was in more danger than Yami…I'

"Then why?" Yami asked showing some kind curiosity.

Rito rubbed the back of his head, he didn't know why, but seeing someone talking to Yami like that made him feel angry… Maybe even…

"I… I don't know really know the reason but watching you get insulted made me angry," He said remembering how that men was trying to fool around with her, just remembering how he talked to her made him mad, "and I just couldn't stand there it made my blood boil!"

"… I see…" she replied as small blush appeared on her cheeks, "I appreciate what you tried to do but I don't need protection"

"Yami I know but-" he stopped talking when she turned away to head out the exit.

"I think I should leave…" Yami said before start walking.

Instinctively, he lifted his hand, but she disappeared before he could do anything. He looked down at the hand he has raised.

'… What good would it happen if I stopped her? What could I have said…'

He left the stadium more confused than when he entered.

Meanwhile Yami walked aimless at the city, she was nervous, more nervous than she was before the fight, but she couldn't understand. Her heart was beating fast and she was feeling something warm and it only increased after she hearing what he said. She put her hands close to her chest, lowered her hand trying to understand what she was feeling.

'What's the matter with me?' Yami thought too concentrated to notice someone approaching her.

"Hey, Yami-onee-chan!" Mea said behind Yami, who turned rather quickly than usual, "How was with Rito-onee-chan?"

"I-it's non of you business!" The blonde girl stuttered out as her cheeks turned pink

"Hmmm… I guess things went really well," Mea provocatively taunted her with a smug smile, "Did he kiss you?"

"What? No!" The blonde assassin said almost in a defensive tone averting her gaze.

"Why not? You like him don't you?" asked the red haired assassin with a devilish smile. Time to tease the poor sister.

"No I don't like him that way!" The golden assassin red-faced shouted a blatant denial of truth, which even a deaf guy could hear is a poor lie.

"Who do you think you're kidding, he is the earth and heaven to you" Mea said jumping to her right side, "You can try to keep it hidden, but Yami-onee-chan I can see right through you, you can't conceal it, I know how you're feeling!"

"I'm not feeling nothing ok? Leave me!" The famous assassin said trying to brush her off.

"You blush, you sigh, why deny it?" Mea said teasing and walking after her.

"Can't you stop trying to irritate me?" Said Yami releasing her wings and flying away, "I am not in love with Rito!"

"I'll do it when you admit it, onne-chan!" The red haired assassin said releasing her wings and going after her sister.

"This scene won't happen because I'm not feeling anything for him," She said trying to use her top speed to lose Mea.

Yami flew all over the city trying to lose her, but Mea was able to follow her, seeing that she was not going to stop her younger sister, she landed on the same bridge that she almost killed Yuuki Rito. As Mea landed in front of her, Yami lowered her head and sighed.

"You don't need to say to me, it's okay… I can see you are in love" Mea said giving a weak smile.

"I… maybe you're right… maybe you are not… but I will never open my heart like that" the blonde assassin said in a sad tone.

"What? Why?" Mea asked confused.

"Because I once was naïve, there was someone that I considered special… more special than Mikan…" Yami said looking to the sky remembering someone.

"More special? … You mean Tearju Lunatique?" Mea asked curious.

Mea never meet in person Tearju, but Nemesis once told about her, at the time she served her. Yami didn't reply just walked to Mea's side, "Whatever the reason she abandoned me, I can't-"

"Yami-onee-chan you know that Rito would never abandon you!" Mea screamed at her sister.

Yami didn't replied she just kept walking, Mea wanted to follow her but… right now she felt that Yami need it to decide by herself.

What will Yami decide? Is there a space for love even after her heart was shattered?
